- This is our first time visiting the #philippines and our first impressions are WOW!!! We have found possibly the most underrated and most beautiful island in the Philippines. We have arrived on Siquijor ( the mystic island ) and fallen in love with this small yet beautiful island.
In this video we visit the beautiful Lagaan falls, rest on Paliton beach, enjoy a Lechon buffet and have a sunset BBQ with friends. #filipino

Originally from the Wirral, North West England we got married in 2012. After a few trips abroad we caught the #travel bug. In 2019 after 6 weeks in Japan we decided we were going to quit our jobs and take some time out to travel full time. After many delays due to the pandemic, in 2021 our dream finally came true and in November we set off on our journey.

We appreciate you making the island your first adventure. When traveling outside of the country, please strive to promote the island. As a natural remedy, the "Hagonoy" leaves are useful in treating your partner's injuries. When we had bruises and wounds, we utilized that, and it worked just as well as taking tablets or other medications to speed up the healing process.
We want to explore the natural medicines found on the island and hope to do so in coming videos 😁

Nowadays I can’t understand the weather in the Philippines. When I was a kid when it’s March to Early May for sure you get all sunny weather and when it reaches May people want to taste the first rain. But now it’s still raining. It’s been 20 years since I left the Philippines, I miss the motherland

Wow, very nice change of room to stay in, living in a luxurious hut with all the amenities to make it comfortable, and cooler to sleep in. What a life, to enjoy the panoramic view of the outside, away from city environment.
It really is a beautiful place. We are so lucky that we are able to visit such a beautiful island and stay in such a nice place 😊

Wow beautiful place, be very careful in exploring caves wear protective helmets and drive safe always nice salad and grilled bangus use anti mosqiito spray more effective.
We used both spray and coils and it worked well 😊

Guys you can save washing spoons and forks by not using them. When eating just use your bare hands Filipino style. Instead use spoons for getting your vegi or fruit salads or if you're the only two are eating you can ditch spoons and forks.😊
We have done this before in other countries.

@@LostKnox lots of remote islands away from tourists. We Filipinos are avoiding that. We prefer very quite area white sands too. So beautiful listening the splash of the waves, birds chirping, leaves rustling. Bring our own food. You may have picnic in the prairies while we do it in the beach 😊. I missed that time. 👍

Since you are loving beef tapa, I would recommend you to try it with vinegar. That sweet, salty then sour(vinegar) and with sili(chilli) will have that flavor explosion in your mouth.

siquijor was known to philippines as enchanted island
People here definitely see it more as the Healing island now. It is really interesting to hear how so many people around the Philippines are still really cautious of this island 😊

We headed to Romblon after Siquijor. We sre running out of time in the Philippines but we will come back and when we do we will head to Siargao 😍

Men! That color of the sand is amazing! Better than when we went in the bahamas pink sand which is not pink at all
There is a pink sand beach here in the Philippines too. But I think most of the pictures are photoshopped so we may not head there this time.
The beaches here are so beautiful though 😍
Men! Here in usa, that coconut which is small and not sweet and no meet inside is cost $4.50.
It is the same in the UK. We can only get dried up coconuts that are so expensive and not tasty 😕
Bangus is national fish,its delucious,and you can steam that you put tomatoes and onion inside the stomach or you can fried it cut like a butterfly and put garlic black pepper,salt and vinegar just soak 30minutes so that all ingredient go to bangus and fried.
We have also tried the bangus that is soaked in soy and chilli and then fried 😊
@@LostKnox Wow, you mean the Daing na Bangus? You can easily make it by combining garlic, black pepper, ginger, and fish source with vinegar, then marinating the bangus in it overnight before frying it. Then pair it with garlic-fried rice and eggs. Very Masarap!

Didn't quite make Siquijor on my last visit as it was typhoon season & I only had 3 days left in The Philippines & was afraid I might get stuck on the island & miss my flight. This coming Canadian Winter I am planning on cycling around Siquijor & camping as well as staying at resorts. Do you know if the circumferential road is more up than down in one direction? Thank you for the nice places I plan to visit.
I think it's pretty even both ways around. We didn't drive the while curcumfrance. Hope you enjoy 😁

18:24 that's an "owner type jeep" short for private owner type jeep, term is use to distinguish it from the regular public utility jeeps. These owner type jeeps are now banned in metro manila due to its shiny, reflective stainless body. I think it's getting rare as well in the provinces.

Buy an anti-mosquito spray and spray it around and on your feet
We also have spray but they were out in force 😆
@@LostKnox , there are two kinds of spray, the spray that kills mosquito and another that gives a smell that mosquitos hates.
I hope you have the spray that gives smell that mosquito and insects hates and thus will avoid you. Its derived from citronella so its a bit natural

So how does the island compare with your time in Ko Lanta Thailand?
We really loved Ko Lanta however the beaches are definitely nicer on Siquijor.
The people are super friendly on both islands and the feeling of community are similar on both.
Siquijor is also alot smaller and takes less time to get around although it has ALOT to do and see on it like tons of waterfalls and caves. 😁
