Transforming Turkey Necks into Oxtails

- Good day! Today I will be showing you how to make “oxtails” by using turkey necks.
Ingredients:
4lb fresh turkey neck
1/4 cup white vinegar
2tbsp oxtail season
1/2 tomato/ 2 oz tomato
1 habanero pepper
2 small red sweet pepper
2 small yellow sweet pepper
2 small orange sweet pepper
4 fresh basil leaf
3 stalks of green onions
4 spring of thyme/1 tbsp
1 large onion/1 cup
1 cup of oxtail marinate sauce
2 tbsp browning
4 oz corn oil
2 can butter bean
Turn stove on high and sear meat on each side for about 10 minutes. Place meat in pressure cooker with 2 cups of water for about 45 minutes. Finishing cooking meat in the same pan it was seared in. Add oxtail sauce and butter beans to the pan. Simmer on high heat until gravy thickens.

You know they will be coming for turkey necks soon. They will spin it into a delicacy and we will not be able to afford it, just like they did oxtails, pig tails and everything else from the culture.
The fact that it looks like oxtails and if it taste like it too it’s definitely a winner .. have to try this especially since I don’t eat beef products anymore . Right up my food alley.

It had a gamey taste. It doesn’t take the place of oxtails.

Oxtails my fav have always been expensive even before the escalation in food prices that started with the pandemic. I eat them only for special occasions when the enjoyment is well worth the price.
@@vincentbrown1872 oxtails used to be one of the cheapest meats to buy before it became a poplar dish I guess. It was once considered the scraps! My granny raised us up on them. My favorite was her oxtail spaghetti. She be going off talking about the price of oxtail nowadays 😅

As a child growing up in Brooklyn I remember how strange the whole tail looked in the butcher shop, but did not have any to eat till maybe 40 yrs later and it was instant love! What I quickly learned was to stop buying them in Jamaican and Dominican Restaurants for I would usually get one or two with meat and the rest tiny ones. I learned to cook them myself instead. I don't know which style is more delicious ? Spanish style garlicy in a tomato sauce, or Jamaican flavored, or American style in a brown sauce.

I just found your channel Chef. I just bought a whole oxtail the other day to cook for Thanksgiving . It looked like the ox had been starving before they slaughtered it. Your turkey necks look healthy and delicious. Next time it will be turkey necks, I guarantee.
I have been doing this for a year now. Turkey necks can taste just like oxtail if you do them right. I am a Jamaican, so I would do them island style. With the butter beans also.

Have always cooked Turkey necks. I used them as neck bones and white potatoes, since my family didnt eat pork i used Turkey necks a fir about 30 years. Have baked the with just white potatoes, sweet potatoes and made cabbage and corn bread just never ever thought to substitute for oxtails genius. Looks delicious and yes oxtails are why why too expensive 5 pieces cost me 25 dollars. I got to waitbon a link card to buy oxtails. LOL. Great Dinner Chef

There are not that many calories in this dish. It's mostly vegetable-based. I use carrots potatoes and white Lima beans in mine. It's a full meal
Likely you wouldn't because other countries have real food and not all the preservatives and additives and processed foods like we do. People normally lose weight when vacationing in other countries.
@@shetalksfootball104 It was just a compliment to the great food in Jamaica. I live in America and I am not big as a house so I already employ healthy eating. Again it was just meant as a compliment to the food and flavors of the Caribbean diaspora.

I would buy the smoke turkey necks because the bone won’t be soft on the grill. My turkey necks is really soft down to the bone can chew up, just a suggestion for you
