I"m 64 as a kid growing up in Arkansas our neighbor had 2 big cherry trees, her grand kids, my brothers and myself would eat fried cherry pies as fast as she got them out of the skillets, she and mom usually had 3 cast iron skillets going trying to get ahead of 6 kids.
Oh my goodness!!… I could only dream of a cherry tree!.. And making fried pies with those!!.. I have never in my life even see a cherry tree… What a blessing and great memories that tree was for y’all! 😍 🍒

I just watched your video on fried peach pies. I'm 71 years old and cried when you said it was your son's favorite and he would show up for them. I live in TN. AND would drive all the way to VA. For mom and dad's fried pies, peanut butter roll, and apple stack cake. Then me and mom would make biscuits, gravy, bacon, eggs (I called them mashy eggs when I was little) over easy, homemade apple butter, homemade molasses. Then I'd lay on the porch like an old hound dog (just an old saying. I'm getting ready to make a batch of pies. Will let you know how they turn out. Thank you again for the memory. I still fix a lot of mom, grandma and great grandma's recipes. My dad was a MessSergeant in WW2 and actually sold his chili recipe in 1961 to a resturant. Enough jawing, I did subscribe and saved your recipe. Thanks again, Steve

I could never get my bread, cinnamon roll dough, pie crust right until I called my grandma in Idaho from Alaska as a new bride of 18. It loooks like you’re using Borden Bulgarian Country Buttermilk. That is the thickest, richest buttermilk I can find in Houston. It makes a big difference. I use it for mixing up Hidden Valley Ranch dressing (using the packets that call for 1 cup mayonnaise and 1 cup buttermilk.) By the way, if you have not tried Duke’s mayonnaise, please do. I enjoy watching your videos. You have a charming personality.

Many cooks go by looks and feel and texture especially if they use their hands to mix things like dough my Grandmother and Mom did it that way and didn't always have a written recipe and everything they made was delicious thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories and I absolutely love peaches
I come from a very long line of fried pie cooks ! However, here is where we differ. We choose to use dried fruits . One year decades ago, I spent an entire two days making peach and apple fried pies…….to freeze for my family for the whole year. They were incredibly good ! When we cook our dried fruit, we refer to it as “ stewed peaches or stewed apples “. Not only do we make the pies, but we also have a nice serving of them on our plate at dinner, along with whatever else we made. Or, a dish of them before bed. And THIS one is a real favorite…….plopping some on top of our cereal before adding the milk on top. Ohhhhh Lordy, that is to die for ! One year our church group had a Sedar meal. I chose fruit. I made a gigantic batch of stewed peaches. I got tickled at the Yankees in our group who had never eaten stewed fruit ! Of COURSE, my whole bowl of peaches disappeared in a flash ! So, fresh or frozen peaches are nice, but this is just how we Atlantans have done it…..for generations. It is May right now, and I am looking forward to peach season already.❤️

Oh wow!…Well, I’m glad that you came across my channel!.. However it was lol 😂… Im a tech dummy and still don’t understand how to manage my way through this stuff!… I have to get the kids to do it!😂😂…. And, the canned peaches work just fine!!… I put them in a little pot with about a tablespoon or so of sugar and pinch of cinnamon, little Pat of butter…. kinda smash them a little… not all the way, just a little.. let it bubble and add me a cornstarch slurry to thicken it enough to spoon it in your pies… shoot, it’s good stuff!… Thanks for joining me in the kitchen!!

TalliFaye, I made the peach fried pies. I think I didn't get the filling thick enough because after they sat on the plate the back of the pies got soggy. They were still good though.😊 Thank you for sharing. I think I'll try your chocolate fried pies. I might have better luck. 🌈💚🙏💚🌈
Oh I’m sorry… That has happened to me before too though… Sometimes I try to make my dough a little stiffer with some more flour and more cornstarch or flour to the filling when cooking it up… I hope the chocolate ones do good for you.. Thanks so much for trying my recipes ♥️♥️♥️

And, the canned peaches work just fine!!… I put them in a little pot with about a tablespoon or so of sugar and pinch of cinnamon, little Pat of butter…. kinda smash them a little… not all the way, just a little.. let it bubble and add me a cornstarch slurry to thicken it enough to spoon it in your pies… shoot, it’s good stuff!… Thanks for joining me in the kitchen!!

TalliFaye, I made the peach fried pies. I think I didn't get the filling thick enough because after they sat on the plate the back of the pies got soggy. They were still good though.😊 Thank you for sharing. I think I'll try your chocolate fried pies. I might have better luck. 🌈💚🙏💚🌈
Oh I’m sorry… That has happened to me before too though… Sometimes I try to make my dough a little stiffer with some more flour and more cornstarch or flour to the filling when cooking it up… I hope the chocolate ones do good for you.. Thanks so much for trying my recipes ♥️♥️♥️
