And when you consider the only reason they got all this snow, or why they didnt get double this- is the upper air jet stream, which if it changes path for ANY reason at all can bury a region in snow or cause crop destroying drought in a region that formerly enjoyed great crop growing climate. Up North!! Always pack a snow shovel, bag of play sand, some candy bars, and a couple bottles of water for winter with a couple of blankets. Take out in the spring and refresh again in the fall. That segue from a normal-looking Buffalo Bills Stadium to the snow-filled one was superbly clever!! Kudos to you for that! This is such a good record of the event.
Thank you! I've been posting stuff randomly on different platforms but wanted to consolidate. Really should have done it in 4k but posting long videos in 4k on the road is difficult.

i live here in Buffalo; and I can't tell you how many people ignored the driving bans during this blizzard... luckily hotels had capacity for people, but, not many heeded to warnings about not being out or exerting themselves when shoveling. it was sad.
I think the snow acts as a sound insulator. It's always so quiet when snowing and there's a good amount on the ground
yes it does because soft surfaces didnt bounce back sound waves so well
That's why I love to drive on fresh snow you car instantly transform into Rolls Royce.

amazing drone shot...
Thanks for the great vid. No matter what I ❤❤ BFLO. And remember they got great summers there😊
Looks like the snow we use to get back in the 60’s/70’s in Brooklyn NY! I don’t miss this at all. Stay safe & warm everyone 🙏
, it's different. The snow from the 70s melted.
I've been driving for awhile. Driven in almost every type of weather condition.
One thing I learned ...Clint Eastwood says it best..."Man's got to know his limitations..."
I love driving but there comes a time to park it....
Edit: Reminds me of the ice storm of *1976. Weeks without power. Dad cordoned off the downstairs den with the fireplace to keep warm. Cousins came over. Ice everywhere.
Wow.
'76 or '77? I remember a snow day when there were 40 feet drifts of snow along the Lake Erie shore, Dancing Queen (early 1977) kept playing on the radio. It was the only "snow day" I ever recall in Toronto.
Those blizzards in the 70s were legendary. I remember cars being almost completely covered
Sounds like a good memory of family coming together

We had snow like this in 2017, it sucked. Still dry roads right now in idaho. God bless you all stay safe

The cameraman never dies or suffers any kind of issues.
Somehow he was able to go around town while everyone was stocked on the snow ❄️❄️❄️

As a truck driver I never tempt fate driving in snow it never ends well
As an ex-owner op I must say ; if you're an over the road driver and you get stuck in a lake effect dump area -that you knew was coming, either you're an idiot or your dispatcher is.Look at all those road trucks ! The "dump" area isn't that big; get thru it,or get out of it....but don't get stuck in it, cause now you're just stuck doin' nuthin',makin' nuthin'.
They said 4’ of snow, and people are out in it. When you stuck in it, you’ll learn the hard way, to stay home. ✌️
impressive shots! Those drone shots are incredible. Feeling pretty cozy inside watching this.
Greetings to you dear. Nice but I don't really love Winter period. Do you live winter
WOW I would not what to live in Buffalo NY so much snow in November and the winter months haven't even started yet. We still have December, January February and a little bit of March...
All those people really got up in the morning and chose danger and inconvenience. Just stay in bed y'all it's a better investment of your time. I hope everyone got home safely!
Some could be nurses, drs, technicians, cleaners , cooks for hospitals or nursing homes where our loved ones are. They could be police, fire or ambulance workers, going on shift those are the ones I worry for.
@@maggiedoor6093 Same. My husband was a first responder. He was out for every hurricane but when they hit, everyone hunkers down even first responders.
@@maggiedoor6093 I always go out in these storms with my studded tires to play in the snow and to help people as much as I can. I helped dig a nurse out of a snow bank last winter so she could get to work, also worked with an ambulance crew to dig their vehicle out, but it's safe to say there is always that fool that wants to go out in their BMW on all season tires....
If only we, too, in Kazakhstan would get such snow
I look at this, having lived all my life in Siberia. It seems to be nothing out of the ordinary. It's always like this with us, but in Murmansk it's even stronger)))

Beautiful job on capturing everything. I wouldn't want to deal with all that snow. Prayers to all. Stay safe!

Same here but I pray all in this situation find happiness. Greetings from Miami dear how are you
Loved the occasional blizzard living in Suffolk county Long Island. Since moving to Albuquerque winter is very dull here. Hardly any snow and a few inches we get melts within a few hours. How I wish I was in Buffalo just to experience that lake effect snow storm. Mother nature at her best!
Thank you for sharing this. My daughter lives in Rochester and has been moving into her new apartment. I lived in Gwinn Michigan years ago the lake effect snow was always intense like this.

I grew up in Florida, I've had the honor of training soldiers at Fort Drum, New York ( which if farther north than Buffalo) during one of these lake effect weather events and there was no pleasure in it.
Excellent video! It’s hard to believe how many semi-trucks, 2wd vans and cars were on the road. Even 4x4’s we’re struggling. This storm was predicted well in advance so not sure where all these people were going!
Exactly
I was wondering the same. And I don't get why people are trying to remove snow from their driveways. like for what? Are they planning on going somewhere? it seems pointless clearing the driveway when they know they can't get out and drive on the bad roads. so what's the point of doing all that extra work for nothing? 🤷🏾♀️
Keep working at cleaning it. Half hour shovel rest two hours etc. It needs to be moved before it turns to ice with A freeze. Ambulances n fire trucks post snow will still be needed. Don't want five feet plus snow in the way.
Maybe the drivers of the trucks were trying to continue working at a job. Every winter in NJ Dad would put on chains or snow tires.
i wondering about, i see other cars in other countries not having this issue. Maybe if these people had snow tires?
At some point you have to ask yourself, "what is so freaking important that you felt like you had to get out on the road in this?"
Nothing... LOL. if one had a snowmobile that could be fun...
Plus some of the cars I see people driving why would u go out especially if it’s not awd I have a 2020 Subaru wrx even I would just stay home why take the chance of getting stuck or hitting something
In Siberia, in Russia, this is a normal winter, as it begins in October, so it ends in April-May. Snow is more than a meter, snowstorms. We love this winter! At -40 our kids are walking outside, freezing their snot!

Same here. It's just before 7am and I'm considering what to have for breakfast while watching this 😁
It was a sunny cloudless dat in Toronto that day, we could see the clouds across Lake Ontario.
I'm utterly amazed at how many people CHOOSE to drive in this! Did they forget to use their thinking part? 🙄🤦♀️

I thought basically everyone in that region had snow chains on their vehicles
No. I never put chains on my tires and I got around just fine. The key is not be on the roads at all. Let the plows do their thing and after a few days dig out your car. Pretty sure they put a travel ban in place so they could plow and pack down snow to drive on. They actually do snow removal pretty well up there
Прикольно зима началась , у нас только через месяц так будет ! Поскорей бы снег выпал !

@@markjanssens5484 people still go into work and just try to leave before it gets too bad. If you work in a hospital you have to go in and either the hospital makes accommodations for you to stay overnight or you find an alternate way to get home
Not everyone can just stay home and wait out a storm for a few days. Essential personnel still have jobs to do. I wish I could've just stayed home during covid but I continued to work everyday like a lot of people did

The record-breaking Buffalo snow reminds us of nature's incredible power, but also how communities come together to face even the harshest storms with resilience and solidarity.
What were you driving that handled the snow so well? Great video and editing.
That's what I want to know. Nice vehicle for that nightmarish weather. I have had an Xterra, four wheel drive, and a Subaru Outback - which was amazing in the snow, and currently have a Tacoma, four wheel drive, and I don't think I'd be maneuvering too well with any of them. That must have been a pretty heavy vehicle.
Sounded like an old school Ram 2500 with a Cummins.
We were in a 2022 Dodge 2500 4x4 diesel. It was a truck we rented, chose it for the ground clearance. We also had a few days worth of supplies, tow ropes and shovels. Luckily we only needed the tow ropes when pulling out others.

Brutal. Only an hour away from me here in Hamilton, I'm so glad we rarely get lake effect snow. I've gotten caught in squalls a couple times between Ellicottville and Buffalo on the 219. Not fun.
Last I heard the 219 was closed from Springville to Buffalo. It won't stay that way we have massive snow removal going on. BILL'S won today. Cheers with some eggnog and wing's.
I love it!!
Круто, у нас такого снега не часто встретишь!!!
прошлой зимой было, пояйцы навалило
I lived in Easter Washington state and each year I’d get 12 to 15 feet of snow, my long driveway was like a tunnel. It would snow feet overnight. Buy a good roof rake for your home, studded tires and have a great truck (Toyota Tundra) and get ready for the ride. Always pack warm clothing and food with you. Stay safe everyone
Excellent advice, especially the Tundra. Also, keep emergency items, like you mentioned, in the vehicle.
Up North!! Always pack a snow shovel, bag of play sand, some candy bars, and a couple bottles of water for winter with a couple of blankets. Take out in the spring and refresh again in the fall. Always drive a four wheel drive vehicle with clearance and fog lights and in the winter keep your tank filled up. Careful if you have diesel that it doesn’t freeze up around zero F.
awesome drone's eye-view
WOW! I'm glad I'm not out there in that! What a storm!
I’m amazed that the roofs on the houses can hold the weight
Many can't. There was a bowling alley that had a partial roof collapse just yesterday afternoon. Most people with flat roofs try to clear them as soon as they can.
