it's the only time nyc ever gets peace and quiet.
I was razed in New York on the East side in the early 1940s. No slushy storms then no WW2. I would take my sled to Central Park and spend the day on Pilgrims Hill riding down that wonderous place. Then drag the sled home 5 blocks to our apartment near the East River Drive. Childhood is a wonderous place.

Wow, look at all that snow. I was born in Brooklyn NY (Flatbush) in 1961. I so miss this and wish I was not moved from my home state. Maybe one day, when I can afford it, I'll move back.
As a european, it amazes me how much buzzing still goes on at 5 am in NY.
So magical, even saw a few lite up x-mas trees inside buildings.
Very Very Beautiful too. I've never been there in NYC, but my daughter did❄❄❄☃, as soon as she started traveling with friends from the university.🌨

I remember being a young college kid going on a group bus trip in 2001 up to NYC---exactly three months before 9/11 in what turned out to be the first and last time I would ever see an NYC skyline with the Twin Towers in it---to see The Lion King on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theater. It blows my mind that 23 years later, it's still playing there.
A lot of lights which is more magical than Europe what become day by day more Dark.
