    The fact your dad built it for you. I would never move. ❤️

    I love it. I gathered old windows from spring and fall clean ups. Got things from my Grandparents old barns. I laid everything down and planned it out. I’ve been gathering bricks from old dump sights. I got some from a beach. Had an old homestead and bricks laying around. I’ve been sanding and hoping to put together when the snow is gone. For the table. It can be shimmed on one side. Wouldn’t take much to level it. The plastic on the rafters looks find. It’s only temporary till it’s warmer outside. The pitch is perfect. It’s functional and super pretty

    Hi! I'm new to your channel but I love it. When I was young my neighbor had several greenhouses and a huge business selling plants and I worked there for 7 years. I'm finally looking into starting mine this year and I was so excited to come across your channel. I know it's been a year now since you posted this video but just in case you haven't started doing it this way yet, she always hardened off her plants by opening up her greenhouses for a few hours every day. It's a lot easier than hauling everything outside every day. Thank you so much for all the tips! I loved working at a greenhouse but starting my own seemed out of reach for me for a long time.

    Love your greenhouse! The floors are great. And the memories will be priceless! On the floors not being level, level the table! Maybe? Maybe worth a try. Use pieces of wood, cardboard, etc .

    Lordy mercy, girl. I hope you have lots of help planting all those babies! Such a beautiful space, and all your seedlings look SO healthy!! Gotta love a man/men who are good at building from scratch!

    Love your greenhouse. Just a thought, could you place a short bladed ceiling fan behind your chandelier or another place in the ceiling area in order to push the heat back down & circulate the air. Maybe have it on a timer. 🤷🏻‍♀️🌱🌱🌼🌻

    We built our greenhouse from old windows and doors. We build a deck for it and build the greenhouse walls on top of the deck. Not sure which way is better. I’m thinking having ground as the floor will help keep it warm.

    I build a high roof window greenhouse too and will build shelves near the roof to start my seeds coz it's hot up there to promote seed germination.

    I love your greenhouse! We just built a hoop house greenhouse using a greenhouse plastic and it heats up and holds heat pretty well. Maybe you could try getting a piece of clear greenhouse plastic to put right above your rafters on the inside. You could still see though it to the awesome roof but help hold heat in. Depending on how hot it gets there, you might have to take it down during the summer though cause it might make it too hot then.

    You are doing the market garden this season but I’m wondering how much food you will be growing for your family? Will you be doing any videos on preserving food? Do you cook often? Also please grow and do some videos on Kajari melons ....they are sooo awesome.

    The plastic above your head looks fine from here.....some puffy clouds ;) Curiosity question, how many windows are there?
    Maybe you could build a few long trays with handles that would fit four or five of the 10/20 trays (I think that's what you called them) in order to get them outside for hardening off.
    A BEAUTIFUL GREENHOUSE! Thank you for sharing.

    Interesting. I'm in the collection process for windows and materials. You don't like the plastic over your rafters. When I first saw the video I thought they were sheets of material purposely placed for aesthetics. It looks very nice to me, at least in the video.

    Look into a LP gas space heater I heat my workshop with one made by Empire, direct vent right straight out the wall. Has a 120v fan to blow the heat around.

    • @BerkeleyFarms
      @BerkeleyFarms  3 роки тому

      We were actually thinking about goin leg with that but concerned we’d be blowing through quite a bit of propane. How much do you use yours and how much propane does it use?

    • @jeffreysmith7924
      @jeffreysmith7924 3 роки тому

      @@BerkeleyFarms There are three different heaters so I'm sorry I don't have an individual usage on each. My application is a workshop/garage under a living space. Nothing like the usage you would see. Have your local LP supplier come and do the numbers for you.

    I’m about to follow the video to make our greenhouse. Two early questions. I can’t tell from the foundation video if Tim filled the first course of cinder blocks with concrete. And, did he lay them on bare ground or stone before leveling? Would an inch or so of paver sand make leveling that course any easier?

    Some newer windows (glass) have UV coating so it won’t allow the necessary light to reach plants to create the food they need.
