One common complaint is that EVs are too expensive but at this price, at least one third of the cars sold in Australia are more expensive.

Great video Chris. Looks like a very basic but capable EV built for a specific purpose as Taxi like you mentioned but also a value workhorse. Will be interesting to see the resale value given the very limited number of these bought into Oz.

Thanks Chris. On their website they only advertise the Atto3 - slightly less range, same price but oodles of extras.
Because all the E6 were already sold out since last year !!!!! Only 45 were shipped to Australia
This is the perfect vehicle for an UBER or taxi Driver. Cheap to buy, cheap to operate, cheap to maintain, large enough to carry luggage and appears to have and interior that can have spills cleaned with a wet cloth. You could really get a jump on the completion.
Indeed, the streets of Shenzhen, China, are full of E6 taxis
This is use as taxi in HK and Singapore, the 1st gen and the 2nd gen of e6
This is designed for taxi, that is by is low cost and for work horse

Great video not just of the car but of where you filmed! Let's hope the local councils and organisations in the Western suburbs of Melbourne see this! Why .... because there are none or close to no public or private charging stations there...

I don't think they are not bringing anyone into Australia Chris, it's old technology and built on an Ice platform. All future BYD vehicles for Australia will be built on the dedicated 3.0 BYD EV platform.
Yeah, just these 15 examples as they don't have to do local testing and ANCAP rating. EV Direct is going with the BYD Atto 3 instead.

Special import, didn't have to meet ADR for Australia... which come to think of it, cruise control wouldn't be standard anyway. I guess its a primarily a taxi OS, so they don't want one in it?

LOL! Well you're right about that. Personally, I don't mind not having a spare tyre. Fingers crossed, last one occurred about a decade ago. If I did carry one, that would have been a lot of wasted energy transporting something for the "just in case situation".

Why not list the pro vs cons and compare it to the close competitioner. I see your review is overly presimistic view.
Probably won't be imported en-mass anyway, so whilst this was fun to do, I don't think I'll bother. I strive to be honest and tell it like it is so - so this car (like all cars), have their pros and cons - no car is perfect.
