Ok, that's frustrating. YT often deletes comments where you even mention other sites, not even put their address in.
I posted a comment (that was deleted) saying that when buying anything online that a web site named after a metal that used to be used to make cans (tin), coupled with the body part that you view things with (eye) has saved me from several scams as you can run the images through that site and it will tell you if they've been posted elsewhere on the web.
All Reverb has to do to limit foreign scams is to make foreign sellers use the same pay structure as U.S. sellers.

That artic white les paul really has a nice color. It would be nice if Gibson offered ones that looked just like it from the factory and called the color banana yellow.

I reported a listing recently that had the seller located on like, an atoll. It was also a recent account with no prior sales, so, all signs pointed to scam. Definitely be careful with new listings that seem too good to be true.
Thanks for the heads up. Lots of people get too excited and don't look at when the account was created or where the seller is from.
The Firebird VII wasn't a custom color and it wasn't Burgundy Mist. The finish is called "Heather Poly" and not uncommon on Firebirds (I have three). I saw the same Reverb listing last week. I think Burgundy Mist is a Fender color... but maybe I'm wrong...

Looking at the color inside the holes for the original tuners, I'd guess it's refinished as well. Either when or after the tuners were replaced.

These are the reason why i travel to a guitar super store in the closest biggest city near me. I just like to see the item in person these and then. It never fails! My current amp, guitars are all from there! They also know me. Love the banter as well!

Its crazy how far some of them go, had someone edit in a hand holding a note with my name on it which was definitly fake but i bet some people fall for that.

I would suggest that Burgundy Mist Firebird is actually Heather Poly. HP was Gibson's equivalent to Fender's BM and was slightly lighter.

Great video. Ive been looking on reverb for several guitars to buy. Les paul unburst or lemon burst and natural mahogany explorer with white pick guard. This video makes super cautious as i thought reverb was better than letting crap on tneir site. Obviously not. Their ads should be thoroughly inspected before being allowed to posted

Does anybody know what Is the best way to get rust off frets the strings are rusty but the frets looks more cleaned how would you do it
1st thing is frets don't rust. If there is actual rust it is from the strings. Frets "oxidize " as they are a non-ferrous metal. If they are rough I would use micro mesh pads, if they are smooth but discolored any good metal polish like T-cut, flitz, mothers..etc. Or buy a fret kit from music nomad. Some people use 0000 steel wool , but I wouldn't.
I dont know about reverb but i was scammed by a seller on eBay who had excellent reviews over 60 reviews. He sold cheap stuff like CDs to get the good reviews then ripped off people on big sales. Luckily he tried ripping off someone iin his own town so rhe local police got involved and thanks to good detective work he got busted, and because i had sent him a money order it registered in his bank account, i got my money back after his conviction. His lawyers office sent me a check for 800 bucks. Never used eBay again.
Never keep Gibson in a gig bag.

No, it’s 100% Pelham blue. The clear materials used to coat the paint job oxidize over time and eventually take on a yellow tint. The way the blue paint appears from underneath aged clear coat creates the trademark greenish hue of aged Pelham blue guitars. (Blue + yellow = green if you don’t get it.)

The first thing I said to myself was that is a Banjo neck. 100% Banjo neck.
If you want to be really super duper safe while making a high-price purchase, I’d recommend asking the seller to send you a video of them holding/strumming the guitar, with a custom note of your choice on a piece of paper somewhere in frame. Bad actors with enough Photoshop experience can fake just about anything these days. The latest versions of Photoshop make it really easy to insert sophisticated lighting and shadow effects without the edits being super obvious. It wouldn’t be hard at all to edit a photo of a guitar (especially ones taken at certain angles/in certain settings) to include a pretty damn convincing piece of paper/note. A simple video of them standing in front of the camera showing off the guitar with some form of unique identifier like a notecard would be basically impossible to fake. But then again you could avoid all of this trouble by just buying from a reputable dealer 🤷♀️

The Red Les Paul was ABSOLUTELY refinished, and by an amateur. The orange peel in the reflections is off the chart and the serial number is hard to read because the finish has just been glooped on there. Who'd attempt to refin a guitar like that with no knowledge or experience? Painful to see. Buy a Harley Benton if you want to mess around with refinishing, not a Gibson.
Pelham blue is just a terrible colour. Not a fan.
