When $5500 is a “Great” deal for a 57 reissue demo I’m officially out of the game. I just shake my head at the amount of guitars in this video that are over 4k. I do appreciate the effort it takes to do these videos day after day. Thanks and cheers

And by the looks of all the custom shop footage, tours & examples I have seen/played, they are pumping those things out just as fast and sloppy as gib USA. I don’t need to waste 10k to feel better about myself when I can have the exact same thing at 1/10th the price.
@@SplashgameFTW These comments are not on the ability to pay that for a guitar or being "scared" by the price (LOL) - it is about whether these guitars are objectively worth that much. While it is true to say "they are worth what someone is willing to pay for it", I reserve the right to hold the opinion that someone that pays that much for these particular guitars is 100% guitarded. I have no problem paying $5000+ for a guitar - just not for a guitar from a scratch and dent sale.

WTF???? Not a chance. Gibson has gone full on ridiculous at this point. I buy all of mine used now. It just isn't worth the new prices plus the depreciation. I'll let someone else eat the depreciation.

I just bought a brand new classic for 2100. It's a great guitar, but it might be the last ever Gibson I buy new. No way am I spending that much on anything less.
I own one Gibson. Bought it in 2018 when prices were fair. I'll never sell it. Prices have got way way too high. I'm happy Trogly makes these videos. Keeps my gear itch scratched without buying anything.

The 400$ SGJ is home since one hour and it is amazing ! Indeed by chance I connected at 7:00AM last Thursday and they uploaded 2 hours in advance. I missed the 335 though, I did not realize immediately it was not a studio…

Ok, let me get this straight. If you have a $800 sg that actually has player wear it's worth $400, but if you let gibson hit your guitar with a key ring and put cigarettes out on it that same guitar costs $4000.
Don’t they put them in special ovens that dehydrates the guitar and that’s was causes them to look aged and carefully relic them?

That white burst with TV white was stunning!
Really like the Leviathan, Toasted Marshmallow and Galaxy finishes, but this week was really cool across all the guitars in the paint shop.
That blue LP Modern is nice
9:19 To my eyes at least, this looks like what Fender call Shoreline Gold, only with a little more of a rose gold hue than that finish typically has.
I feel sorry for you young people who just want to own a gibson les paul like they played in so many songs we love but you can’t even touch anything for less than $2k & the “really cool ones” cost like $4k. That is just ridiculous prices.
If you spend that kind of money, it’s supposed to be flawless snd last you several lifetimes.
Epiphones are ok but I honestly found a used LTD in the 1000’s that was better sounding than a $3500 gibson les paul.
The LTD sounded better than an Epi. It honestly sounded better than some gibson lp’s.
My modern antique burst G LP pro III has all kinds of weird factory mess ups and lacquer drips in some places but it at least sounds cool.
I see they go for like $2600 now. I paid less for mine. Good luck finding a les paul pro iii for less than $2k and they are not even a “real one” if you are a purest.
Toasted Marshmallow was beautiful all around. That open grain look on the back and sides was a very nice touch to compliment that gorgeous top.

I've avoided those 2014 models because of that 12th fret inlay. I have a 2013 "Worn Brown" SGJ & I love it.
That last one, the '57 induced heavy breathing lol. That isa dream guitar of mine exactly what I want. Its like they got in my head with that one down to the tuners!
The Moss one is my fave. Beauty.
The J line was my favourite right after BFG and maybe after J, Menace and Gothic. I want an SGJ.
Most of these just seem like thrown together junk.
That's what they are. few weeks ago I seen a orange les Paul special on there and the whole side of the neck had the worst running paint job and many other issues. Yea they wanted 2300$ for it lol Gibson is a joke. Prs gets my money
I've never owned a Les Paul, but if I ever do it will definitely be Kentucky Bourbon Fade.

Loved the Twilight LP. That explorer reminds me of the fender Antigua finish. Not a big fan of the pistachio but maybe the could've done the center in a blonde leaving the edges green and turning it into a pistachio burst. The leviathan looks cool. I would have called the moss fade bayou sunset. I like the black pearl and agree they should've continued on to the back. The Sapphire blue looks like it could've had the name Ford on its back.
One of the best deals I ever got was on a 2014 Gibson LPM (the lpj with e tune) for 400 Canadian. It was on sale at best Buy for 699 but it was a floor model with some scratches near the input jack

That 1st one is super 70s
I had a 2013 LPJ. swapped the pickups, tuners and plastics to make it more like a studio. was a great guitar but i just didn't like the "worn" finish. i prefer glossy

Sgj is a great guitar and so is the lpj..The sgj has 24 frets also and 490pickups.😊
the moss green/amber fade LP would age very well. especially if left in sunlight and heavily played. makes me think of the greening in an old goldtop. shouldn't "toasted marshmallow burst" have the burnt/crispy parts on the outer rim? boy, i LOVE that beat up SGJ. it too will continue aging nicely. someone indeed got a great deal. i can see that silverburst LP Junior also yellowing over time. especially in a smoky environment. normally i don't get into silverburst but that one works well.
I used to own the SGJ. I bought it for CAD $400. Although it didn't come with a hard case. It had a black gibson soft gig bag. It was literally so cheap it was the first guitar I ever bought. I was just stupid to sell it, because it had a very thick neck which I wasn't exactly comfortable with. I sold it around 2015. And I have always kicked myself for selling it off. You can't even buy a set of Gibson pickups for that price now. 😭
That tv white burst custom is amazing
I don’t think that patriotic one is actually pink. It looks like a red, white, and blue sparkle, and when you mix those three colors together you get kind of a mauve/lavender color from a distance. But up close it is red, white, and blue glitter.
We need a Les Paul guitar with Mix Matched parts on it. I would like to see different tuners on the headstock.

8:33 im sorry but if im spending $10,000 on a les paul this is not the one! There’s alot of really cool les pauls out there in that price range that will actually go up in value (in your lifetime even lol unlike this one) this is what i would call a bad investment.
A sub Kilobuck SG of any sort is a miracle. Let alone sub .5 kilobuck. Scratches or not.
Clearly, Gibson stopped making instruments for working musicians a long time ago. When $5500 for a dinged-up Custom is a deal and they’re turning their Seconds into Mod Collection examples, you can pretty much tell that Gibson’s brand and management aren’t any better now than under Henry Juskiewicz. Gibson is running on fumes and it won’t be much longer that they’ll be able to keep selling $7-15k Custom Shop Murphy-aged models, or any of these other butt-ugly atrocities. Good vids, though! When I need a good laugh, I just watch these. Cheers!

I love the guitars but it is crazy in this day and age I gotta sell my kidney to grab a decent Gibson. Unless I’m a full time musician I can’t even justify the studio model or a Jr model. Epi 59’ (burstbucker 2+3) kept my Les Paul itch in check.
What a genius idea. You can make a factory second, forego quality control, paint it an odd colour, and sell it as an overpriced reliced masterpiece.

I know that you love Gibson guitars, and that fact and your enthusiasm for them makes me like your channel and watch almost all your videos. But man, most of the guitars in this ep is really fugly no matter how much spin you put on them. Some redemption comes from the Demo Shop @ 13.27 though, and I guess one could say that those ones (almost) saves this episode, but just almost..

guitar pricing is just insane while these are all beautiful instruments not a single one is worth the asking price - no guitar should be costing any where near these prices - FFS 5g for a guitar that can't keep a G string in tune, no thanks.
That white burst....I've seen Andy James use that colour years ago when he switch from LTD to Kiesel, then Fender use it recently on their new release, now Gibson is doin it too 😂
I love that green studio modern, but at that price I'd want stainless steel frets, just so it'll last through the mass amount of playing I'd do to her.
