Is Billy Strings the future of bluegrass? If you enjoyed the video, check out my reaction to Tyler Childers' Nose On The Grindstone: ua-cam.com/video/7-K5s6OkW7c/v-deo.html
Now that you have the good headphones you have to listen to turmoil and the tinfoil live where he has the red sunglasses on. Dude crushes as you can tell
I don’t wanna brag or anything… But I’m going to! Billy is my nephew and we are so proud of him. He’s real and genuine. His bandmates are equally incredible. So Billy used his last phone call to contact his daddy because he had to tell him that they just won a Grammy! Bluegrass album of the year baby! Look out for the new album being released soon! Unbelievable content on that album! And also Love his literary abilities when it comes to his songwriting! I love words and what I hear come out of my nephews mouth makes my jaw dropped sometimes. The way he’s able to convey his thoughts is remarkable! Enjoy him, love him, support him and make sure you see a live show because there’s nothing like a Billy strings live show!
You should brag, your nephew is just an absolutely incredible player. I haven’t felt that way about a player since watching Stevie Ray Vaughn for the first time or the band RUSH. Billy’s virtuosity is relentless. What a normal guy too, not full of himself and so approachable and kind from what I can tell. He’s midwestern, he’s real, he’s not made in New York or Hollywood. Congrats to Billy and your entire family on his deserving fame and fortune.
Note that Billy flatpicks almost every note in his solos, with very few hammer-ons or pull-offs(none in this solo), even while playing fast. That's serious talent!
Turmoil and Tinfoil by billy is fantastic, but my favorite is his cover of Don’t Think Twice by Bob Dylan. His fingerstyle playing on that song makes me want to be a better man.
I would have loved to see you react to the original video where Billy had just written the song. Still my favorite version, and you also have the famous Green-shirted hobbit.
Billy Strings has to be one of the finest bluegrass guitarists of this generation, his style and technical skill is unmatched imo. If you want another interesting country artist, take a listen to Colter Wall. Increbilbe voice on him, he's a Canadian kid from a small farm town in Saskatchewan
Yeah I think you're totally right! I've got multiple CW reactions on the channel. Here's The Devil Wears A Suit And Tie: ua-cam.com/video/T3Vs_nXWFuk/v-deo.html
Billy is great I hope his every finger is insured for millions.he is a treat for the ears and a legend. I'm British and love his music and I love to hear"train train.".
Just incase anybody was interested: Guitar - Billy Strings (William Apostol) Banjo - Billy Failing Mandolin - Jarrod Walker Stand-up Bass - Royal Masat Billy is awesome. On nugs.net he has a ton of live shows available for listening, does some awesome John Hartford covers, and covers of all different kinds of artists. I've heard covers of Black Sabbath, Post Malone, Johnny Winter and just a ton more. I don't think I'll see a more talented guitarist ever, especially when it comes to flatpicking.
I really appreciate this Derek! I’ve been thinking about adding credits at the end of each reaction to shout out everybody on the project. I’ll check those out for sure though. Thanks bud!
For real it is really difficult for me to watch Billy Strings sometimes. I don't know who he sold his soul to, or what angel came and blessed his hands on the day he was born, but I've been playing guitar for 20+ years and not even a fraction of his talent.

I love the “Chris Thile who?” If I could play any instrument it would be the mando. Chris Thile is the best I’ve seen live. My best year of live music I saw 5 of the best mando players at intimate venues in a 3 month period. Chris Thile, Sam Bush, Sierra Hull, Ricky Skaggs, and Marty Stuart. I’d put Billy’s Mando player, Jarrod Walker, right up there along side these greats. Can’t wait to see Billy live for the 1st time.
Foxes and Fossils are a cover band but the ladies are outstanding. Harvest Moon is in a league of its own. Well worth a listen. Billy Strings and his band are also in a league of their own. Billy and his dad, Terry Barber live are incredible.
Billy strings is a great talent in modern music for sure! Have you checked out Noah kahan? Anything off sick season like northern attitude, homesick? Great song writing
Billy is the next legend, hope you're having better go of things today , Marcus King is another young phenomenon that is amazing. Dyin is a instant classic especially when you consider the original master who wrote it

Great reaction as always. If you want to hear some heavy content music with a great sound check out Arlo McKinley from Cincinnati Oh. He plays a lot in Kentucky as well and is good friends with Tyler Childers. Another note on Arlo, he is the last signee to Prine’s Jonboy records. Great country, Americana sound with some heavy lyrics.
Bag of pills is one of his singles off his new album Die Midwestern. It’s a pretty good song but honestly about anything from Arlo I think you will enjoy.
I checked out your page and a couple of Billy's you really need to react to are "Taking Water," another Dylan-esque song and "While I'm Waiting Here." You’ve been “not bragging” on every single video about Billy. I call bullshit on your story
The thing I love about Billy's faces is that they seem to be a bit shocked by his ability. His faces say "damn, my fingers are doing this!"
