      Violin is looked after, fiddle is 'player condition' or 'reliced'. Plus 1 in 10 fiddles have a leprechaun inside.

    Bill Strings came from a poor background with lots of drug addiction in his family - specifically Methamphetamine.
    So, he brings this modern topic to Blue Grass.
    And if you also watch his other videos, Billy plays Blue Grass with a Heavy Metal edge.
    In fact, he also does covers of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin songs.

    Dude...welcome to some serious genre-bending songwriting, played impeccably in the old style of bluegrass. The songriwting is as epic as the playing. I don't like much bluegrass, I dig mostly rock music. When I hear this, I think of his guitar being played through a Marshall amp. This is the speed-metal of bluegrass, but it's BEAUTIFUL music.
    This is where the genre is the vehicle for the song. Sometimes, a great song and/or great songrwiting just IS and it transcends your preferences/prejudices with music you thought you didn't like.
    Review the video/song "Watch It Fall" and think about what is going on in the world around you while you listen to it.

    Fiddle and mandolin are tuned the same but the fiddle is played with a bow while the mandolin is picked. Violin & Fiddle are the same instrument played in a different style (violins are primarily in orchestras where you only play what's on the sheet and nothing else).

    That is a mandolin its a 12 string instrument or 6 pairs of strings. A fiddle is just a violin by a different name. And bluegrass doesnt technically have any instrumental requirements. But in general the "backup" stringed instruments are taking the place of a drummer and thats why they tend to be twangy like a mandolin(or hats on the drum) and snappy like the banjo(the snare) and plucky standup bass(like the kick) and then the main guitar is like the lead rhythm parts.

    It's a Mandolin it has 8 strings. Difference between a Fiddle and a Violin, the fiddle bridge is flatter (sanded down) so you can easily play multiple strings at once.

  • @cavecookie1
    @cavecookie1 2 роки тому

    OK, what you are looking at is a mandolin; a little 8 string affair that is played like fire. As for the violin vs. fiddle. Both are played with a bow, the difference is a fiddle is played in Bluegrass, a violin in an orchestra! LOL!

    A fiddle is the same as a violin but most likely called such because of the Irish immigrants who brought them over and helped create bluegrass music. The word Fiddle likely came from an Old English word Fithele which in turn probably came from Latin Vitulari.

He is also in demand with others who want to perform with him. Also, if you want to hear a family young group of Blue Grass perfromers, it would be worth anyone's time watching and listening to Cotton Pickin Kids. They even have some songs, they have written.

    He's playing a mandalin. There is no fiddle in this song. However, Mandalin & fiddle are related and are usually tuned the same. The difference between a Fiddle & a violin is, you can spill beer on a fiddle. Violin is more of a classical instrument, and a fiddle is more about Bluegrass/Folk/old time music. Hope that helps.

  • @WillBlindYouWithLight
    @WillBlindYouWithLight 2 роки тому

    Violin is played with a BOW.
    Charlie Daniels says, "Johnny rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hot", because that's just only way* to play. Like it's hot. You'll hear in bluegrass alot, one of them say play it hot! Play it like you stole it! You know that type thing.
    That little thing is a Mandolin. It's very easy to learn, it's easier for folks with little hands to learn compared to guitar.

    I like to explain bluegrass as "the hillbilly blues". It was all about the life & times of the appalachian folk (namely those in the Cumberland Plateau of Eastern KY, WV, and NE TN). But even though this topic is not normally hit on by other bluegrass artists, this is poignant since bluegrass has always sang about substance use/abuse. Traditionally, a bluegrass setup is guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and upright bass. sometimes one of those things will go missing (either fiddle, mandolin, or guitar), but a 5 piece is pretty traditional. My dad was the banjoist in his own blugrass band when i was growing up :)

    A fiddle and a violin are exactly the same instrument, just played differently. It's called a fiddle in country and British folk music, and a violin in classical and pop music. I think that country fiddlers and classical violinists hold the instrument and bow a bit differently.
