Vickers did the same to his own teammate Jimmie Johnson at Talladega in Oct of 2006. Took out Junior too and won the race. He got kicked out of Hendricks at the year's end.
@@jam_plays_games I met Brian at a GMAC company appearance he made. He was leaving and Hendricks wouldn't let him attend any meetings. He was simply riding to keep the commitments to the sponsors on his car.
I miss the days where drivers actually admitted to dumping people. And dang, Mike Bliss's voice, i never heard him speak before, i always seen his name but dude got a rough look to him but got a mouse voice haha
brian vickers had talent with hendrick but he wasn't ready for that big a ride yet. he wasn't mature enough to handle that big a ride. now he is a great racer with team red bull, but there were lots of drivers who deserved that ride more than vickers.
This kind of takes me back to when Rusty Wallace wrecked Darrell Waltrip for the win in the All-Star race. Complete role switch: people were angry at Rusty, and supported Darrell.
+Quentin Rendant Yeah, that was the reason he came out, but it's a possibility that he could be filling in for Smoke in the #14 car this season. He isn't very well known for being clean, but Brian Vickers actually does have some talent. He proved that when he won the 2013 New Hampshire race. He clearly won that race fair and square. No punting the leader, no fuel-milage race, it was just a clean victory.
+Quentin Rendant Actually, technically, they weren't teammates. They were both driving for Toyota, but I think Brian was driving for Turner/Scott Motorsports while Kyle Busch was driving for JGR. And yeah, I kind of counted that interview as Brian Vickers's "face turn," if you wanna call it that, after that. Unfortunately, the good-guy image kind of died in 2011 w/ Tony Stewart at Sonoma, and then the 5 cautions at Martinsville. And I'm just talking for this year. Clint will drive the car next season. However, if they decide to let Danica Patrick go after this year, that could open up another seat.
+Quentin Rendant Probably not, but this has been claimed by multiple people as the season for Danica to prove whether or not she belongs. Including Jeff Gordon. And yeah, the #32 car was never a JGR car. Kyle Busch was may have driven that car on numerous occasions, but it wasn't a JGR car. As for the Sonoma race, although I don't approve of what Vickers did, I don't blame him. I can't say I wouldn't do any different, 'cause I'm not in his shoes. Also, I'm sure anybody would have a hot temper.
He was just turning across the front stretch dogleg. Doesn't look like a block to me. When they run side-by-side through the front stretch dog legs, the inside car is next to the grass - much lower than Vickers was. Vickers was faster and simply didn’t lift.......I don’t think Bliss did anything wrong. It’s also hard to expect Vickers to lift in that situation so it’s a grey area.
It seems like every attempt vickers makes for a win always ends hopes of another: this with bliss talladega with earnhardt & johnson kyle busch and him at michigan and johnson matt kenseth and jamie mcmurray at martinsville marcos ambrose at richmond etc
The thing is, EVERY one of Vickers' wins are full of controversy. He spun Bliss, Dale Jr, and Jimmie (his OWN TEAMMATE) and he kept bumping & side drafting (possibly illegally) with Tony Stewart and Kyle. That is why I do not like Brian Vickers.
Clearly didn’t watch the footage. I don’t like Vickers but he has the run, what else could he have done? You’re not going to hit the brakes in that situation, not if you’re a racer
It doesn't matter who has the faster car, or who would win with one more lap. It's all on where you are going across the line. If you block a faster car out of 4, but you beat them to the line, you earned it.
@acenace24 hes not a good driver, he is agressive and this is like the third time he tried to wreck someone for the win ( lowes, talledega, and i know there is one more but i can not think of it)
He wasn't with Hendrick in 2011, so you're already wrong. He was with Red Bull Racing and couldn't win a race, drove like a complete ass (Do we even need to bring up Martinsville, come on), and overall ruined his reputation that already sucked in the first place. Learn some facts and come back and see me
Vickers is a good driver. He won the 2003 Busch Title. He moved to Hendrick and it just didn't work out. Kyle Busch wasn't as good at Hendrick than he is at Gibbs. Just because a driver doesn't perform that well at a high level team could just be for the chemistry. He just wasn't a good fit to the organization. Another fact that he is a good driver is that he brought Red Bull Racing from being outside the Top 35 in Points to making the chase in just its 3rd year. Yes, he didn't perform well at all in 2011 and we all know the Martinsville race. You cant just judge a driver after a mistake in 1 race. You are probably just an little JR fan who is still crying after what he did to him in 2006 at Dega.
yeah cause you know his been in a top cup ride huh? you cant say its a fail prediction until he gets into a good cup ride. Look at the nationwide series he can run top 10 with sub par equipment.
@tk50226 Nobody can. It's a team effort to win a race/championship. Jimmie Johnson isn't exactly the Mr. Amazing everyone makes him out to be, he'd be nothing without Chad Knaus, the engineers who build his racecars, and his pit crew. And even he's been getting a share of luck. Everyone who succeeds does. I'll even admit that my favorite driver, Jeff Gordon's gotten lucky. The fact is racing's a team effort with a tie of luck in there.
+JudgeTread1 Yeah, I mean, I felt bad for Mike Bliss 'cause he got turned, but I honestly didn't see anything wrong w/ what Vickers did. It looked to me like Vickers was just trying to get under him there, and Mike Bliss didn't know where he was. What's weird, though, is that Brian Vickers got his first non-points race win off of a misjudgment, and gets his first points-paying win off of a misjudgment.
And he is paying the consequence, suffering from blood clots. I'm not say "yea let him suffer from blood clots", but I guess he get what he deserve due to all the bullshit from the past
Sorry, but Vickers deserved the win. He clearly had the faster car and probably would have made the pass cleanly given one more lap. But whatever it takes to win, that's the motto
Yeah Vickers is just loads better. Let me tell ya, driving for the team with the best equipment in the sport here and has to dump the underdog driver in the hooligan race to get in the All-Star race. That just screams talent. Oh boy. And Jr won the Busch Series Championship back to back years 98 and 99.
Caleb Jurgensen Jr sucks dude, he went winless for like 143 races until 2014. He races with the best equipment in motor sports and on the team of a 6 time champion and didn't win for almost 5 years.
Brian Fugett Well Vickers isn't "elite" Kyle Busch probably still has more Henderick wins than JR, also I don't like Vickers anyway my only point was Jr is terrible.
Vickers in his Hendrick car had to spin out Mike fucking Bliss to the open? lol, wow.
