He dedicated it to Ricky Hendrick (Rick's son) who died in a plane crash. Brian didn't get fired for this, he announced he was leaving Hendrick earlier this season to go to Red Bull and help Toyota get in NASCAR
Honestly you can hear the defeat in Dale Jr’s voice. That’s what’s crushing, and he knew Vickers was desperate for his first win after being the good soldier in the spring Talladega race.
tony and dale were such class acts about the results of this race. They were my enemies on the track since i was a 24 fan, but man thats respect right there.
+MegaMr46 That's pretty much the reason why Vickers is still my least favorite driver in the series. It's one thing to crash a pair of championship contenders like that, it's another when one of them is your teammate. Of course, his shenanigans in 2009, and the Martinsville/Texas/Phoenix incidents (Wrecking someone three races straight!?) in 2011 has not helped his standing any.
You have to give credit to Jr for the level of maturity there. Anyone wouldn't blame him for throwing Vickers under the bus there and would probably have agreed but he was very mature. It was cool to see Tony Jr credit Jimmie too for growing up on the plate tracks (Jimmie had been known for multiple big accidents and starting them prior to 2006.)
5:45 Were they starting to chant “Bull-Shit”? Lol (I remember being a kid and watching this race in person, I was not a big Junior kid but I was pissed to see him spun out.)
If it was intentional, then drafting wasn't a thing. He caught a small draft from Jr., which boosted him. He tried to follow his teammate, only to just ever so slightly turn him. Also, he was behind him so, how'd he get in front of him anyways? Bunch of sad Jr. fans trying to make an excuse. Or Jimmie fans, to that matter.
sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any help you can offer me!
@Ulises Josiah Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Vickers went to go with Jimmie misjudged got into Jimmie which made him go into Jr nothing intentionally just a racing incident plus it was always funny when Jr fans pouted like immature kids when he didn't win at Talladega
Little did anyone know at this point that jimmie would go on and win 5 straight titles starting his comback this year. Something we will never see again
Everyone is out here saying vickers is Satan's friend for wrecking out Jimmy and junior when his teammate needed the win meanwhile im admiring the huge balls he had to fuck over his employer, teammate, most popular driver in the sport, fans, and the entire sport just to win a race.
Vickers sucked, took out the champ and DJR... Teammate and JR in the same lap, awesome! Bet that crowd would've whooped his @$$ had they had the chance.
i dont think he did what he said he did i dont want to believe it he was desperate and likely tired of always being outshined by his teammates, he deserved this win
What I think is messed up a bit. Ok, so you know you are leaving Hendrick’s at the end of the season. You know it, the organization knows that, the worked even know’s it. Why would you not be allowed into team meanings? After all, the season isn’t over yet, and you are still contractually obligated to do your duties as a driver and show up and drive the car. So why wouldn’t you still be allowed to be apart of team meetings and have a somewhat equal say within the organization? Ok, you aren’t a Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson, a rookie in Kyle Busch. But you are still a member of team Hendrick Motorsports. I dunno. I would feel a bit slatted to be apart of a great organization, but at the same time not. I’m probably sure that he had to sign some contract stating that if he leaves by either termination or non-renewal, that there is a clause stating you can not disclose former information from your previous team to the new organization. Which I’m probably sure it does, just not spoken publicly. Besides, when the new season starts, I’m sure teams have new strategies and team meetings in regard to the new season.
I was never a fan of Brian as a driver but I don't get why he got hate for this. Why, because he took two of the best in the sport, one of which being his teammate? That's a fucking invalid reason. It was completely unintentional, you people need to get your head out of your ass and realize that.
From a casual fan the shit is just crazy to me how you can just wreck other people out and win. Do they ever DQ the offending driver and give the W to the next finisher?
They did once in 1991, when Ricky Rudd spun out Davey Allison in Sonoma, which caused such a controversy that it was never attempted again, mainly cause the bump-n-run is a Hallmark of NASCAR.
"I wanna dedicate this win to Rick Hendrick" ...
Gets fired the next day
He dedicated it to Ricky Hendrick (Rick's son) who died in a plane crash. Brian didn't get fired for this, he announced he was leaving Hendrick earlier this season to go to Red Bull and help Toyota get in NASCAR
Isaiah Marker sadly they weren’t competitive
@@MegaMr46 he won Michigan in the Red Bull #83 car in 2009.
MegaMr46 what? Not at first but Vickers won for Red Bull…

Everybody hates anybody who wrecked Junior, but Vickers is hated at Talledega for betraying a teammate. And involving Junior.

Falling Pictures Productions Vickers didn’t wreck them on purpose he hesitated. He was gonna push JJ past Jr
TheLocalLt true
I was there and you talk about some pissed off people. NASCAR called for extra security in Victory Circle because people were threatening him.

My first ever race. Still hurts almost 20 years later…. 9yr old me still big mad
5:45 Were they starting to chant “Bull-Shit”? Lol
(I remember being a kid and watching this race in person, I was not a big Junior kid but I was pissed to see him spun out.)
Only in NASCAR especially when you take the biggest drivers at the time
OMG THEY WERE
XD
Jr always a classy guy even after bieng wrecked
Vickers hesitated at first, which is why he hooked JJ
Yeah that's why I don't get why everyone is so pissed.
I agree.
He had the faster car and accidentally ran over his teammate.
If there was a WWE style chant for booing Vickers it would be "You screwed Dale!"
No lie I think of the plane crash doesn’t happen I feel Brian wins more at Hendrick
“To get this win for Ricky means a lot”
Brah, would’ve been better if you didn’t hook the 48
You realize that he didn't do it on purpose 😐
So why wasn't Vickers allowed in team meetings. Good lord what did he do
michael88h I think it was because he was leaving and they didn’t want him getting team info for next year
This was the Steal of the Year in my opinion for 2006
vickers knows he did it intentionally

As a Dale Jr fan i was so pissed at vickers that day
RC RACER 88 not just wrecking Jr but betrayed Jimmie Johnson as well.
@@MegaMr46 yeah well I'm an Earnhardt fan sr and jr i really dont care about Jimmie
@@rcracer8872 bruh
It would have been interesting to see the fan reaction had they not thrown the caution spoer early and perhaps Kasey Kahne/Kurt Busch had won instead.
I was so mad that day
I don’t know why the fans keep booing. It bothers me.
I lost so much respect for Vickers after this
Red Card why?
Vickers went to go with Jimmie misjudged got into Jimmie which made him go into Jr nothing intentionally just a racing incident plus it was always funny when Jr fans pouted like immature kids when he didn't win at Talladega
F in the chat for Vickers even tho im a jr fan still Sad for vickers hate and feel bad for jimmie and super mad at the same time for dale
Atleast Jimmie did win the championship
jr and johnson are my two favorite drivers in nascar and i am pissed.

How many beer cans did Vickers get pelted with at the end of the race? NBC doesn't want to show it

This race ended Brian's career. He did that move on putpose to take out J.J.
How? He was already leaving Hendrick and got many cup rides after. Red Bull Racing. MWR who he won with….
