Hard to explain in writing
Oil is set to medium-high heat or 350 F give or take 10 degrees different. Fry just one to test out the oil. Once the oil is perfect (makes gentle bubbles when you add the sesame balls), then you can fry more than one at a time.
This recipe makes 15 sesame balls

When I wen to work in the morning, I at times stopped by the Vietnamese store and bought these freshly fried sesame balls. Crunchy outside, soft and sweet inside. Nothing beats it. Thanks for sharing. Now I am away from it, I will probably make some myself soon.
Thank you very much for the recipe. I can'r wait to give it a try! I love sesame balls! Every time I do my Asian shopping, I must have 2 sesame balls as a treat!

Aimee, you're alive!! So happy you're back with a new video. Your banh cam came out perfectly round and golden! I love eating this but had so much problems making it growing up. I wish youtube was around back then so we could have made this at home. :)

I 💕 this is my favorite
Banh cam has a special place in my heart...it was the first time I heard my mom curse because hers went flat...i was like 5-ish. My first Vietnamese curse word...and actually the only one I knew til I was in my 20s. 😁
I use to eat just the bread part as a kid and give the mung bean paste to my dad...😂
I also like the sticky, sugary one, but I don't see that around a lot. Is it not popular? Is that not actually banh cam? Lol, I do get all my vietnamese dessert mix up a lot...growing up in the USA.
But cheers, your look great! Yummy yum yum.
Amazing👍😍
Thank you!!
I love banh cam. I always buy these when I stop by the Vietnamese Tofu store. I have a question. It is only good when it is fresh. How do you preserve it for a few days? I can't eat it after a day because it becomes hard to bite. Even when I put it into the microwave, it didn't taste good any more.
My mother loves them :D I made it for her and bring it to her work so she can have nice lunch. She was so thankful :)
What a lovely thing you did for her. I bet she was so happy and proud. I am very glad she enjoyed them. 😊

I'm gonna try making these
No your not hahaha
Yay!! Hope you’ll like it 🙂
Can you make this ahead of time and fry the sesame balls the next day? Should I refrigerate after I shape the balls and take out to let it come to room temp when I'm ready to fry?
Omg this is the first time I've actually succeeded making sesame ball! This recipe is going to be my go-to from now on!
I didn't have a real potato so I used 1/2 cup of instant potato flakes and it still came out great! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe ♥️.
Yay!!! Great job. Super thrilled hearing about your success 🤗
i know Im pretty randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to stream new series online?
@Shane Kye flixportal :P
@Adriel Ricky thanks, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) Appreciate it!!
@Shane Kye No problem :D
Aimee, I need this recipe with measurements in each ingredient. Thank you.
I have a question-- I have seen cooked mung bean sesame balls deflate? I hope my attempt will be successful! Thank you again Aimee.
Hi! do you think it would work if I do it on the air fryer instead of oil? Thanks!
❤❤❤👍👍
I'm curious, but would you ever try stuffing it with the combo of shredded coconut, crushed peanuts, crushed sesame seeds, and sugar (like the filling in the sweet banh it?). I bet it'll taste excellent and especially if you made the outside layer pandan flavor. Think about it. :)
Thanks for all the great ideas 💡🙂
I don't see why not..that sounds delicious..
Mix đậu xanh with durian
I make your banh mi rolls often all my family adores them any other rolls or bread recipe will be appreciated 👍🏻
I have a lot lined up but needed to do some other recipes first for versatility. Will be going back to bread soon. Stay tuned 😉🤗
Thank u👍🏻
Thanks a bunch for this delicious recipe. Made 25 this weekend , tasted really good but suggest adding water to the flour rather than water to flour until you are certain on flour to water ratio.
You’re welcome 😉
Can I make it without filling?
This looks amazing! :) How much glutenous rice flour should I mix in with the rice flour?
Thanks. The recipe is in the description box 🙂
Oh yes...I see it. Thank you so much! 😊
You’re welcome 😊
how can I keep them crispy overnight?
If I use patoto flakes how many grams can I use?
Do you ever add coconut to your Bánh cam balls ?
Hi Amy! Giving this recipe try. I am blending the mung beans now and it is very watery. Doesn’t look like how yours is after blending in the mixer. What did I do wrong?
That’s ok, the water will dehydrate when you go to fry it. It will just take a little longer until a clump forms. As for why it’s so watery, maybe the brand of mung beans, how cooked your beans are, how high your heat was, various reasons, so hard to say.
Thank Amy! I cooked it a little longer and it became a paste like yours. As for the sweet potatoes for the dough is it just the baby red’s potatoes?
I use the Japanese yam, or the regular asian sweet potato.
Cook it on low heat until it becomes paste...no need to blend it..
Can you please give measurements
I just like to eat the outside of them.
How much glutinous flour, Rice flour, sugar and water you use?
See description box for list of ingredients
I want to use red bean paste instead so May I know the weight of each of the mung bean paste?
They are approximately 43 grams each. 🙂
@@AimeesCooking thanks
You’re welcome 😉
How you going to make if you don't tell you I'm out that you put in you mix
