Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me

I know this video is 3 years old, but it is new to me. Thanks so much for the inspiration and instruction. I have painted kitchen cabinets and I think I will use this technique to update them to the wood look that is trending in 2023. I love your channel. Your projects look so beautiful.
Hi Shanon, I’m becoming a big fan of your channel, I love that RH look; I’m a furniture flipper and am always looking to differ from the rest, there are thousands of videos on how to paint with fancy expensive paints and unless you’re sponsored those expensive products can eat up all your profits; you are the proof that gorgeous finishes can be achieved with products that have been around for decades. Please don’t change your way, and your easy down to earth way of explaining the process. Best regards

Hey! Thanks for the kind words of support! You could try to dry brush and blend to soften the color contrast and cover flaws or you can use mineral spirits and wipe it off and redo. If I were you I would try the dry brushing, probably do a few different colors that are close in color and try and blend with a chip brush and wipe away after brushing with the paper towel to get a vey light amount in some spots

Thanks for sharing your professional and beautiful techniques
I noticed you took the time to put in a waterbased alternative for the glazes into your notes- that' s so awesome! Thank you for going the extra mile and saving me the time of figuring out a waterbased version! I'm in Canada and we really only have two months of the year that are warm. I have to work with my heater on and the garage door closed so much of the year that I stick with waterbased products. You rock!
Hihi, I am really confused over the water base or oil base. Zinseer 123 is definitely water base, so I thought best choice is waterbase for all the paint and glaze and top coat?
Hi Shannon. Sarah from Brooklyn, NY here. So happy I stumbled across your videos. I am really loving your whole aesthetic and vibe. Also glad to see what you create with not fancy products. I'm excited to see more of your creations. Also, loving all of your background music. Nice touch!
Love how you show Technique Through real time and don't fast forward so I'm able to see and hear you explain....thank you so much for this and ur piece came out soo Beautiful... thank you!🤗👍🖌️🎨❣️
I love the music and the song. You are kind when you start talking to stop the music. It is a nice set song. A perfect match for this piece. I realize for some they do not like music but I believe this was very tastefully done. Awesome painting technique thank you so much for sharing
I love your videos, I think you're so kind and humble. I'm trying to learn to do some flips. I've been teaching myself with my own furniture. 😊 Thank you for your videos and happy painting !!!
been looking to see how to make-over my Auntie wood dresser that she left when she passed and I can't bare get rid of it. I am going to try this... Gosh I hope it comes out great ! lol
I forgot the pickling stain until I watched the video 6 times or so!!! (Is that normal?) Can you say GORGEOUS, I'm working on an end table now and just finished a Pottery Barn Dupe Finish Big dresser, It turned out So nice!! Thank You for such great inspiration, I really appreciate your style and wonderful ideas!!😅😅
Hi @blacksheephouse, thank you for posting so many wonderful tutorials. I actually tried to follow this video (my first faux wood staining experience) and one area I am having trouble is with staining. As I rub the stain from left to right I often start to see little particles in the stain that come from the stain and become stuck to the board. I can upload a picture if you’re not sure what I’m talking about. Wondering if you have any advice about this?
Wow i just found you & this dresser is AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL ❤️❤️ Can you tell me why you didn’t remove the drawers-doesn’t the original brown show around the edges when the drawer is pulled out?? Thanks!!
Was this piece of furniture painted before you started using the whisk broom and deck brush?? Just wondering. I do like the extra layering of paint and paint finishes but I like the effects you accomplish with the whisk broom and deck brushes also which look really really professional.
Hi I love your videos so helpful and thorough. I wanted to ask you if you think its a good idea to do this method on a dining table. I bought a new set online but when I received it it looks green ( not desirable) I thought this would be a good option for me to do , what are your thoughts? Thank you!
Hi, I cannot find the Varathane briar smoke gel stain anywhere in my town is there another product you know of that I can use instead to get the same look ? Thanks for your videos love your work!
I haven’t been able to find anything quite like the Briarsmoke and I have been looking for a water based alternative for a year 🖤 I did try mixing grey paint in with my rustoleum Java glaze and got pretty close though so I’d give that a try. If you don’t have a brown glaze you can use brown paint and some clear poly mixed together. Let me know if you try and if you succeed!!
I just stained my pine top table with min wax dark walnut oil based and the whitewashed top with sawmill gravy Dixie chalk paint on top and feel like it’s too grey now. What would you recommend to get mor3 this taupe color top on top?
Do you think this would work to some degree with a regular oil based stain rather than a gel stain? I have soooo many regular stains. Just curious if I could save some cost somewhere. You give me hope I can do the same. Looks so pretty!
Hi Shannon, I want to redo my bedroom set in this finish . My set has a lot of detail, crevices etc. would you say this finish is easier to accomplish on a piece that’s has less detail and more flat areas ? I’ve never done this before so I don’t want to mess it up!
I can’t seem to find the list of the products you used for this. I’m in love with what you did here and want to attempt to replicate it on our kitchen table and TV stand. Could you let me know what you used and any recommendations for a top coat to seal it all once it’s done. Since it’s the kitchen table, I want to apply something that will protect it. Thanks!
I absolutely love this, but my only issue is I have a dresser chest that I want to do this too but it’s has brass recessed handles and I want to do away with that, but haven’t a clue what to put in its place since the hole cutout. Any suggestions?
I would remove the metal part and then fill the recessed spot with bondo or some other wood filler like Durhams rock hard water putty. And then drill new handle holes. Durhams is super cheap so since you’ll be using a lot you may want to go with that. Lay the furniture on its back so it doesn’t drip out while it’s drying 🖤
Thanks for all the details for this lovely finish, and for giving oil and water based alternatives. I'm sure this is a minority opinion, but I don't like the vocal music. I want to see your work and hear your comments. I turn off the sound on the music, but I'm afraid of missing your commentary. @@blacksheephouse Where did you get the song? Can't find on Spotify of iTunes? I love it. And I loved the music in the video, and all your info!! Starting my project today.
Hi, I recently started following your channel and your techniques are amazing. I have a question, I have a 1980s giant walnut hutch from Ethan Allen. It’s a beautiful piece but I want it to blend in with the rest of my furniture. I love this French vintage look. But I also just saw another video of yours: Layered Stain l Fixing Orange . Wood Dresser Makeover. So my question is, should I follow that technique for real good quality wood or this one?
Both these finishes are nice, and I may even get a lighter option than what you showed in the layered stain video by wiping stain even further. But just want your advice as I do not want to spoil a vintage piece of furniture.
Hey Kajal! It depends if you want to sand the piece down to the raw wood finish (which would prepare it for accepting the stain). If you do feel like sanding it all the way then go ahead and do the layered stain, but if you would rather just lightly scuff sand and paint the piece then go with this French painted look. Either will look great and just depends how much sanding you feel like.
I was wondering your thoughts on what color to paint an old China hutch I purchased in 1980’s. It has an antique gold metal strips (can’t describe well) in the front window French doors. Right now it’s walnut and just looks dated. I love Ballard colors
Sounds cool! Any of the wood looking finishes on my channel would look great. I just did a pottery barn dupe that is water based and it’s my favorite right now to do on French pieces 😍
Great tutorial and end result! Would this work on old builder grade laminated oak cabinets? My kitchen cabinets could really use a makeover and just painting white doesn't appeal to me.
Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent.
