@@DinnerForkTongue you can kill them both and still get good ending as long as u pretty much spare all other humans except bandits, which are free game
By the way feel free to spare Lesnitsky, take a closer look that Artyom leaves him outside, unconscious and without mask or filter. He will just suffocate. Meanwhile Pavel even if spared, he's still stuck outside, unconscious and heavily injuried. Mask and filter won't last him forever. As for the rest of stuff: developers reward you morality points for exploring the created world and not acting like a jerk to other people and non-aggressive animals (Baby Dark One will let you know through dialogue). I didn't go out of my way to kill people, but if it had to be done, I didn't hesitate and got good ending.

I feel like it was only because he didnt realize the entire place was rigged for demolition and instead thought of something different thats my theory though
actually if you go to the theatre station in a small book shop there is an easter egg it shows 3 books 1 is metro 2033 the second is metro last light and the last is metro 2035 so maybe there next metro is with artium's son or something
Hey! After not playing the game for exactly the same reasons (insane lags when the slowmo and explosions happened) I reinstalled it and checked off the "advanced physx" box, it got completely back to normal! I didn't even know i was 10min away from finishing haha
Best defence mission ever! Metro games gave me chills when it came to battle and hopelessness during the exploration of the post-apocalyptic world! Instead of frantically looking for fresh charcoal filter while losing breath, getting chased or evading wasteland beasts, having to strangle another man or being locked up in the prison and tortured or any of that wasteland good stuff, I'd rather be cuddling in bed with one of the fine Russian women of the Metro! To be brave like Artyom here is kinda hard! But I'm sure I will be willing to risk more once I had my good time!
I started to get worried after a little while because my pipe bombs weren't doing much to stop them at first but it was a great moment. :) - Ferelinstincts
That is not the bad ending, it is the Normal ending. If you read the books, he does die. What your talking about is the secret ending. People keep getting that wrong, artyom does die and has to die from the books, just as how in the beginning of this game you start off from firing the missiles at the dark one, in metro 2033 the secret ending you don't fire the missiles but a dark one child comes and holds your hand.
Colin Keener Actually the book is completely different to the game, he dies on a plague infected station in the book (metro 2034) leaving behind his family. So the normal ending isn't technically canon either.
Metro 2034 is not the game, it was sated by 4A and the author that 2034 will not be made into a game due to the fact it was too "boring". The Story is as goes, Metro 2033, Gospel of Artyom, Metro Last Light. They basically removed 2034 from this story line. And if it follows 2033 after shooting missiles and killing humans, there would be no way you should get the "good" ending in Metro Last Light.
Colin Keener So why did you say that "If you read the books, he does die"? He only dies in 2034, which for all intents and purposes in a parrallel universe to the game, and he survives the end of 2033. The game isn't canon, so his death at the end isn't canon either, it's just the bad ending. Or, rather, the worse of the two.
The Book 2035 is basically Metro Last Light it was noted around. The Author said "I will make a new book for the game". So if you just play through the first game just shooting people, if we take that and apply it to Metro Last Light then Arytom must die by triggering the C4. In the Gospel he was only upset that he ended the Dark Ones. So by Logic, in the first game where it continues from you firing the rockets. It was the Normal ending, because getting the Secret ending was hard to do, you had to give money and even find all the instruments as well as try not to kill alot of people. Since it left off as you firing missiles, we must take that Arytom shot people, killing others. So in Metro Last Light if he were to follow the same path, he would die by triggering the C4.
“I feel a lot like Xerxes” well yeah Leonidas killed millions of Persian immortals according to Herodotus before he killed Xerxes top general and both sides fought over Leonidas’ body for another whole day
It's only i who think this final battle is so easy? I mean, the only real chalenge (that i died to many times) was the tank, while the shields walls that comes after you can defeat so easily... The tank part was the real final boss here
I like to believe that both these endings are linked. Simply because the "Good" ending is what's canon. I got the bad ending my first time but simply did the same thing over again except didn't go loud as much(also avoid drinking and whores) I think that when Artyum flipped the switch he saw everything go up in flames. He could hear the smiles and admiration of those who he and his comrades saved by dying. He imaged Anna being safe with their son because of the blood split and countless others kept safe. He thought the Dark Ones escaped and were able to leave, his sacrifice redeeming him of his sins against them. Then time stops and he feels the Little Dark Ones hand on his, and the gentle voice telling him there no need for that now.
to the bitter end spartan, hold your ground. EDIT: i am just curious but did anyone just beside me was like: Fuck it load the military grade bullet, it`s the end anyway.

And killing everyone you go through because of unfortunate stealthy circumstances still punishes you with bad chi for…well, killing. But I will agree. This is a game meant to not be rushed.
