I think 90% of us got the bad ending on our first play through and thought we did everything to get the good ending.
I just did everything but one thing the guy that surrenders in the beginning part instead of knocking him out i knifed him ;-;
yeah
You gotta do lots of shit to get good ending.
levelskip.com/first-person-shooters/How-To-Get-The-Good-Ending-In-Metro-Last-Light
Nah I got the good ending first try :D I did stealth run and knocked out most of the enemies and killed very few and only near the end. Well there were 3 guys in facility too hard to deal with but that was it.
Nope, I got good ending on my first play, I never was to kill everybody, on the first game? Oh yeah, I killed a lot of nazis, it was so good.. But then I realized that we all are the same pieces on different tables, they have family as I do, so if there is a way to not kill, why shouldn't try? And well, for my surprise, I got the good ending lol (I even knew that last light had 2 endings)
Honestly, the bad ending doesn't seem like a bad ending.
Bittersweet, perhaps, but not bad.
I think the implication is that you die and destroy your home so pretty bad
I honestly think it fits the game better but I am fckin pissed that i got it on my second playthrough just now lmfao
I just learned in the comments that you have to save the damn bear boss... bruh I burned it with a molotov hahahaha
@@Jako534 only bear wont help, you shouldnt kill any soldiers, that's what matters the most
I think that sums up almost all of the Metro games. Almost.
i got bad ending, but that bad ending was so cool, his life trough his eyes, everything abt this game was awesome
One of the few game franchises that actually make you question your morals at the end of everything
damn i killed everything i saw
Based
yes just like me
xD
Lmao, same
I did also but I still got the good ending. I let Pavel live and also lazinsky or w.e his name was I let him live also. I also helped anyone I could and there is a ton of things you can do to gain moral points. Finding certain bodies, listening to conversations of random people ends up getting you a lot of moral points because there are so many conversations that allow it.
I just finished the game with the bad ending... I had one bad point. ONE. I freed the prisoners, spared surrendering people. helped the civilians in the bandit tunnel, spared Lestnisky and Pavel, gave money to beggars... and accidentally shot the mother bear monster thing when shooting the watchmen off its back.
You could've reload to last checkpoint to save the bear.
im a bad person i didnt do any of those things exept i saved the bear
I thought you were supposed to kill the bear
@@fjhgamer6688 You do have to fight the bear, but after the fight you'll see it on your right as you leave. It's being eaten alive by other mutants, so if you shoot them off its back to spare it you gain a morality point.
@@calebblaze1313 i wish i would have know it earlier. But i would probably still have got the bad ending
I never knew there were multiple endings, I just thought, "wow thats pretty sad that artyum gave his life like that but at least Anna and their child would be saved and Artyum went out a hero."
Wait, the "bad" ending gave away the fact that Anna was pregnant? So.. if this game was set in spring, and Exodus was during the next winter, she should have been giving birth at that point lol
yeah but she actually gave birth to Artyom's and Anna's child but sadly he wasn't able to see his son
who knows, maybe when Artyom came back he just round housed her in the stomach
@@goblin8623 LMAOOO
The good ending is canon to exodus so maybe artyom used a condom
The bad ending in metro last light is NOT canon towards metro exodus, the true canon ending of metro last light is redemption ending
I get the bad ending on purpose(killing everyone) cause I thought it will fit the theme of the story and I was right
RIP Ulman. In the books and games you were the very best spartan that ever lived ;).
Wait, is that really a bad ending!? For real, man.
For good ending
1. Dont kill the people who surrender
2. Save every hostage in the bandit tunnels
3. Give money to anyone who asks for it
4. Dont kill pavel and latrinski (or whatever his name is)
5. When the kid tells you not to kill the mutants don't.
6. Save the mama bear from the mutants after you incapacitated her
7. When in venice, if you get drunk pay for damages, if you win the shooting competition give the teddy to a kid
8. And generally just try not to kill any humans in the last chapters
9. In the beginning of the game especially if the NPCs have subtitles, listen to their conversations before moving on
10. Listen to the kid whenever hes talking and dont walk away
11. Take your mask off for Anna
12. In the nazi prison release the prisoners
13. Explore the map and find hidden passages
4, 5 and 6 are the most important
And the ending is most affected by the last chapters so avoid conflict and stay stealthy and you'll get the good ending
@@abhinnverma2142 that's a great hard pacify way to do
@@qhai09 No it's not it's the epic hero ending. I love that ending, sent shivers down my spine..
@@abhinnverma2142 I did 10 out of 13 and still got the Bad Ending F me
@@WolfGamingClipd there are also a lot of secret rooms you can find that give you a moral point
got the good ending on my first playthrough. snuck through half the game without shooting anyone and listened to most of the NPC conversations
So I got the bad ending, and spared almost everyone..
There are positive moral points for exploring, I played slow explored everything, I knocked down almost every enemy, spared Lesnitsky and Pavel, also helped the bear and didn't kill the demon mother, which was protecting it's nest. I gave money to beggars and won the teddy bear for the kid in the shooting range in fishing metro station, I also listened to stories of other people, which occasionaly gave me another good moral points, I got one evil poin for accidentally stealing from sleeping fisherman... lol.. and I got a good ending.
@@Sanderson890 such bs that u gotta do alot of shit just to get a good ending lol in exodus it was easy to get the good ending u just don't kill anyone except bandits and yea boom good ending
@@ArthurCallahanSolos I was talking about metro last light obviously. In Exodus, there were no moral points for exploring or listening to stories for example, in Exodus was crucial not to kill slaves and cultists or tribe men and in Caspian also freeing the slaves, so Damir would stay.
@@Sanderson890 ik but it was bs that you have to do all that shit in last light for the good ending
@@Sanderson890 I didn't know you could get the teddy bear for winning the shooting range. I was looking at the floor for it and only did the range twice
Well now i am waiting for the next game to be free
so do I LOL
Just buy it
@@tuikalepaamanaki5457 hell naw
me too :(
Well exodus was cheap on epic during their winter sale. Practically only spent $10 to get 1/2 redux and exodus.
Ended up getting the good ending my first time and man, shit hit different
It means we're good men by nature ... we were merciful towards a lot of people, we were kind and friendly..
What did you do to do that?
@@locksmith3078 save the Bear, don't kill letsnitsky and Pavel, remove the mask, explore and interact with people, give the teddy bear to the kid crying, save the Prisoners, save the Caravan, and just listen on some conversation.
@@porsche-sandoesnotundersta8184 by saving the caravan was just killing all bandits right?
@@Flowerlytdm yeah but also saving the people stuck in there. Like a woman who's about to get R, a man being forced as a Whore, and finaly the women and the kids.
I honestly thought I made the best possible choices, even in combat. I slaughtered those deserving, like that traitor Lesnitsky, saved those who deserved salvation, like Pavel, and I helped out mama bear in the jungle. First playthrough too. I felt Lesnitsky didn't deserve to be left alive, while Pavel did. But it turns out that was a bad choice. Also looting corpses gives you bad karma? I was playing on Spartan (I think that's the name) and on the hardest setting, resources were scarce and I had to do it, especially gas filters. I avoided confrontation whenever possible, even going as far as restarting a section multiple times if I broke stealth. If that wasn't a good karma run, I don't know what is
yeah man looting corpses giving bad karma is just pure bullshit. wtf is wrong with the devs
@Mario maybe you alwys had low ammo
yea it’s kinda bullshit but it’s whatever
Idk, I looted every corpse I saw be it fresh or skeleton and still got the good ending
Don’t kill a man while he is asleep, Macbeth did the same and look where it got him.
I played the series out of order. Exodus, 2033, then Last Light. I just finished Last Light and in my ending artyom dies. Now I'm all fucked up in the head with the story for Exodus. Seems like they just gave no further story in Exodus for the people who had the bad ending in Last Light.
John Doe because that’s not the true ending. You aren’t supposed to die. Just like if you got the good ending in 2033 the entire game of last light makes no sense. I think it’s because it’s following the books
The good ending for all three games are the canon ending from the books. Artyom doesn't die in the canon.
@@whiteguardtc1265 no they aren't the bad ending in 2033 is canon, the good ending is where you don't destroy the dark ones home with missiles, the bad ending or 'ranger' ending in 2033 is where you destroy their home and only one dark one survived or so you thought, then last lights canon ending is the good one and the same with exodus.
but in 2033 the bad ending is the good one, since it's only in the bad ending that Artyom bombed the Dark Ones
I killed about 80% of all enemies I encountered. I made sure to knock out a few every encounter. The main thing I did was exploring to earn moral points. Those get you more points in total compared to sparing soldiers. I think that in order to get the moral points for sparing the soldiers, you have to not kill anyone in the entire encounter but I might be wrong. Also listen to conversations. According to the wiki page for moral points, it appears I only got 75% and still got the good ending.
I started out a good person but by the last two or 3 missions I was just murdering out of cold blood cuz they were pissing me off.
Metro series is the best games that i ever played.. so emotional.. just epic
I remember the first time I saw the bad ending. Before this, I had no idea there was 2 endings. As I watched my enemies fade into fire, the future was shown. My son, and his mother. She was telling my son how brave I was. As I realized this was it, a single tear of sadness, happiness, and some other strange feeling.
The fact that he references Spartans and Xerxes makes the "bad ending" even more badass like the 300 movie.
Wtf I never knew this game had a good ending, most of us got the bad ending, gotta finish the game again
bro why is the bad ending so good, the music everything
The redux must make it way easier to get the good ending. I gave every enemy a new necktie, but explored every possible nook and cranny for good boy points. Got the good ending and about 3000 kills
I actually got the good ending on my first playthrough
me too
Honestly this is why moral point/karma systems in games tend to be trash. Ain't no way am I replaying this again with an eye glued to a guide just to get the ending that actually makes sense. It sucks having what is ultimately the canon ending locked behind a series of almost impossible to find near eastereggs that honestly make very little sense to obtain. Kill 100 men? all cool, kill and extra two specific men who are more evil than most of your body count combined? you're evil and undeserving of the dark ones' help. Take off your mask and trust a complete maniac who's holding your partner hostage? or just shoot him in the face with a 100% chance of making the shot? Guess you're evil for... shooting a maniac traitor who was likely going to kill you and do worse to your partner immediately after.
Its such a pain in the ass that they stuck with this system through the whole series, it really cheapens the experience.
I wish you could actually see the goddamn moral points
I underestimated it really, never thought most of the decisions would matter.
The good ending fits the themes of the game more. Humanity has sought a second chance after their nuclear holocaust, pushing forward and fighting through the same horrible atrocities that led to Armageddon in the first place (now committed by the Reds and the Reich).
Artyom is emblematic of this, and acted the same aa humanity did in the war with his orchestrated bombing of the Dark Ones in the Pavillion. Like humanity, Artyom was dealing with the consequences of his actions and had to contemplate how to avoid repeating the same mistakes of the past. He learns to forgive and be the better man by being around Khan and the Dark One , as well as seeing the true folly of the Reich and Red Army. That's why the "bad" ending is just like it was in the first game, an explosion set off by Artyom while struggling. Whereas the canon/good ending involves no explosion or similar destruction. Artyon's evolution is supposed serve as an example to humanity, as he learned from his mistakes and acted differently than humanity would have in most of his circumstances. And because of this, a new solution occurs. The Dark Ones save them, and afford the chance to start anew and forge a better Metro and future.
As noble as the sacrifice ending is, it leaves Polis and Exhibition in harms way by the hostile groups still left to takeover in the destruction of Polis' power structure and manpower.
But the good ending gives Polis and D6 the chance to make real change.
There was no bad ending to this game, just one more preferable to the other.
Dunno, personally,i likes the “bad” ending more,it’s more...dramatic,i guess? I mean,if in the first game our “savior of the Metro” burned down the dark ones home,he’ll never change in the future. Artem - serial murderer, and he deserved what he gets in the end.
That's why you get the "Redemption" achievement when you get the good ending.
I've never even gotten the bag endings on any of the games and I just finished my Fourth playthrough. I didn't even know there was a second ending for them until i got to last light and couldn't figure out why the dark ones were dead since i saved then in the first game which apparently isn't canon. You can still kill a lot of people but there's just certain ones you spare. Exploring all the games levels also helps with the endings. There's a couple major decisions in all the games that pretty much decide it, but you can redeem yourself pretty easily.
I was so confused when Artyom survived in Metro: Exodus, I thought he was supposed to be dead. This confirms the good ending is canon for Last Light, a redemption for the first game's ending.
I like the bad ending more than the good to be honest
Metro Exodus kind of retcons both endings by not having Anna and Artyom have a kid and Miller not being crippled
Man the dark one kid rubbed on me, in the Russian dub he sounds so innocent and fun. Artyom is like an older brother or a father to him.
I didn't even knew there were 2 ending until youtube recommend me this video
Idk man. I more love the bad ending. Lol
I never thought of it as the bad or good endings. Just different endings.
Remember that for get the good ending in both 2033 and last light you have to get every moral point.
So confused how I got the bad ending I did everything right
How life works in a game ending :D
For good ending
1. Dont kill the people who surrender
2. Save every hostage in the bandit tunnels
3. Give money to anyone who asks for it
4. Dont kill pavel and latrinski (or whatever his name is)

@@abhinnverma2142 i did all of this, still got "bad" ending, what a bullshit way of story telling
@@lierox90lierox90 you need about 45 moral points.. There are a lot of secrets in the game A LOT and a lot of hidden opportunities for moral gain as well as for moral loss. I got the good ending just tody on my 2nd playthrough. I killed no one except in the 3 must kill missions. You'll probably need a guide and a lot of patience.. But I remember i got the bad ending back in 2011 or 12 and it felt amazing, very heroic. Good ending is just okayish everyone lives happily like that..
Same here. Spared everyone, saved everyone, still ended up getting the bad end. It's just a poorly designed game.
i like the "bad" ending better, it is more realistic than the happy ending one...
Damn, also had the bad ending.
I like the "bad ending" better tbh. And there is no way i would ever spare Pavel, that dude annoyed me so much from the first moment he opened his mouth.
Rail cars are flying from explosion blast
The story never ends with good ending 🙏 2033 then last night, it all continues with bad end 😢😢
only 2033 needs the bad ending. For both Last Light and Exodus we need the good endings
At first i got bad ending, but during 2nd run, i spared 70% soldiers by knocking them, didn't kill pavel and letznisky (sparing these 2 earns huge moral points), interacted with many guitars, listened every npc dialogue, saved the bear, helped the kid in shooting challenge, spared the nosalis by avoiding them, removed the gas mask when pavel held anna captive, explored all locations and got good ending
If atryom died in last light with the bad ending.. How does he back in exodus 🤣
This is the main reason why im replaying the game, gotta get that continuity, man
thats what called non-canon
like the good ending in 2033
Cause the bad ending of Last Light isn't canon
"And I know one day we'll meet again"
Metro exodus: hold my filters
I didn't shoot the watchmen off the back of the bear because I thought they were her children or smth protecting her not biting her XD
And I really thought that was the real ending (Bad Ending) of metro last light. Jesus I'm gonna grind it again and make it good.
Just finished, good ending on first attempt. It wasn't so hard after all
What did u do to get it
@@jointedjoke4187 Basically, your weapons are there to break light bulbs, think of it like that. Also silencers. But you should really carry a loud shotgun, it makes some fights waaaay easier. It took me 25 hours to beat with stealth runs.
@@jointedjoke4187 Moral points, just read steam guide how to find them
@@jointedjoke4187 mostly stealth and pacify way
thats the only way... if your screen got brighter w some noises then you got one, but if your screen got darker you lost some
Funny enough I got the good ending after still killing humans. It wasn’t until halfway through where I started to do morally correct things, so I don’t think have to do everything morally correct. Just enough, just don’t know how much haha
Damn the Bad ending Made me for real cry, that ending Made me emotional
I think bad ending was better. A soldier who protects his people for a cost of his and his friends life and the last look of artyom was legendary too. He worked all of his life on saving the humanity and make people safe.
Remember it… got the good ending first, was a bit confused cuz its not the ending from the book. Replayed it like rambo and then i got the bad book ending 😂
I know I'm late, but even I have to say that the moral points system actually makes no sense. It's true that I didn't do all the things required to have the good ending, but I definitely did most of them. also in a game with a post-apocalyptic setting how can you try not to kill anyone or have the goal of playing all the musical instruments just to get some karma points. you can understand my frustration after getting the bad ending by playing survival.
I finished this game 3 times and finally I got the good ending.
After realizing the stealth just flat out doesn't work after the 3rd mission, I just went Rambo mode. The "bad" ending was 100% worth avoiding the headache that is constantly being seen through walls.
Kill everything you see except for 2 main bad guys and be a moral man by listening to everyone and get good ending
Kinda odd that you don’t get to know about artyoms kid unless you get the bad ending.
Guessing that the ending where you blow up D6 is the bad one. Aka the one i got
Idk why but the bad ending is necessarily it's feels more fulfilling know that artyom died saving Anna and his kid.
Khan was 1 of my favorites
To get the actual good ending u gotta not kill anyone who surrenders and spare everyone
I spared every single one I saw in mid and late game. But early game I just killed everyone I saw, last light was the First Metro game that I played, so pure instinct, them or me.
And the mother bear, I first played Metro in survivor ranger cuz I want to feel the true survival game. So I didn't shoot the mutant off the bear cuz I don't want to waste anymore of my ammo, just to protect myself later.
So I think bad ending is the best one, it really show that you are a true human, you have true survivor instinct, you do everything to survive, even though later you meant to harm no one, but still, you just protect yourself.
Being so good seems unrealistic, cuz sometimes we have to be bad, just sometimes, because the world isn't fair, being bad to survive sometimes.
It’s strange that in the beginning, Anna tells Artyom to stop staring at her butt as it is out of his reach, and in the end she had a kid with him.
I don't think there's a "bad ending" . Both seem like logical conclusions . Only the one with Artyon surviving is the cannon ending.
no wonder i was so confused on how exodus came to be. i genuinely thought the bad ending was the good ending cuz artyom still saved the metro
I basically shoot everything but I gave children a teddy bear and bullet to beggar it’s save me from bad ending lol
i swear to god i spare everyone and i still get the bad ending the most confusing shit
it feels like a topic of debate if the "Bad Ending" was actually bad. The only bad part is that Artyom dies along with Miller in D6, but in a way to also defeat the reds. They even say that he saved the Metro after the explosion, so was it really bad?
I dont see the explosion ending as just another 'good' ending, to me it literally is just bad, due to the fact that no one else you know gets to survive apart from seemingly Anna, and the fact that you blew it up sounds... not so good, a large part of a railnetwork engulfed in flames sounds uh... dangerous, especially if it destroyed/released more bad bad chemicals. Clearly the survival of Anna shows that the metro isnt later full of bad chemicals, but still, sounds more risky than i'd like, but you gotta do what you gotta do, ey?
Bro..all I did was loot basically everything I saw except when in front of people, listened to every dialog/tape I found, I always gave away money every time I saw someone ask, recovered the kid's teddy bear, didn't kill those 2 mfs at the end, saved mama bear, but god forbids I just killed every single living thing in every mission except sometimes where I was able to notice that they were surrendering and gave away to those poor strippers in need about 100 or something bullets and got drunk just once and destroyed a bar (but paid back) and I get the bad ending...
is it not good to watch the good ending without going through the agony of achieving it ? - Love The Metro series - it begs you to play it again and again - the series is a masterpiece,
Just finished the game and was confused because I know Artyom is in Exodus. I never even considered a bad or good ending. But at least now I'll know whats going on when i start Exodus.
More like Good Ending/Better Ending.
İ probably have seen the good ending if only the game hadn't erased my save, i had to get a save from online and god knows what that mad lad done till where i was at before my save files were gone.
I got the good zending on both metro 2033 redux and last light on the first try but got the bad ending on my first metro Exodus run
Can we all agree that khan is just the only guy we could ever trus
What I don’t get about this game is how can you kill every thing that is bad and get a bad ending.
Dammit... I spared Pavel & Lesnitsky, yet i still got the bad ending... but to be fair I slaughtered everything i could see.
Lol I got so confuse now cos I just started playing Exodus and wondering how come Artyom is still alive. How is this even possible I mean I pretty sure nearly all of us knows the ending was a huge sacrifice.
I think a new Metro game that takes place in the New York metro would be cool although I'm sure some people would be angry about the change from Russia to the US. We've seen so much of life in the Russian metro though. What would America's version be like? What groups would rise up the way the Reds and Nazi's did in Russia? What's left of New York City above ground to explore? What types of new monsters appeared in the US? There's the zoo in New York so there could be mutated tigers, apes, you name it. Then there's Sam. Having him as the new main protagonist would be a good starting point. The story could be him trying to find his family in the metro. Did they survive? If so, what station are they in? That's a quest that could lead Sam through multiple parts of the metro and above ground areas searching for clues and information while getting entangled in conflicts throughout the metro.
Bro I just played and finished the game and I tried so hard to save people and be a good person but I still got the bad ending
the problem with moral gameplay was, there is no meter indication when you are good or bad like KARMA in fallout franchise. and just go to what developer want you to do. that what make moral playthrough boring. and almost of the player would ignore good ending (even though it is cannon I think).
I dont know about yall, i just finished this on my xbox 360 and killed almost everyone, liked the game
I didn’t know there were 2 endings so I went John wick and killed everything that looked me sideways
Got good ending on first play through on Survival Ranger Hardcore... I got bad ending on 2033 because i didn't understood game mechanics much(played on Survival ranger hardcore on 1st play through) so for last light i wanted good ending...
To be honest I view both endings as good though one better than the other and also could people please stop calling every ending as if it were all good or bad, like that’s not how it really is and also I hate that you have to do very specific stuff during the playthrough to get another ending. That is total BS. It should honestly be so that you are given a choice by the end of the game we’re you choose what to do instead of it being done for you
Just got the good ending. As long as you’re nosy, explore everywhere, release the prisoners, forgive the 2 main traitors, save bear boss, you should be good. I skipped some of the moral points for the long dialogue sections and that one show because that shit was wayyy too long, and I killed most hostiles sight so as long as you have a decent amount of moral points it’ll balance it out.
i think the bad ending(more like the better ending) was better then the so called good ending... it acted sort of as a redemption arc for artyom as he was the one who killed all the dark ones... it gave him peace or something like that..
Good ending and BADASS ending.
Played this game too many times... only just realised there is another ending always got the bad one
Me making almost all of the good choices and still getting the bad ending :(
U should beating enemies with knocked out😂
Much love to the homies who got the good ending.
crap! now I have completed last light 2 times in a year, and both times I got the bad ending!?!?
Great
Well I've got the bad ending
i got the good ending
Good ending is so hard to get bruh
The bad ending doesnt feel like a bad ending
More like a neutral.
Wow that even make sense
Oof. I just beat Last Light and wanted to see what the other ending was. I was so sure I got the good ending 😔 rip
