As a fellow Mustang owner, you and your channel has opened me up to the world of Porsche but I'm glad to see we can all come together and appreciate well built cars (no matter what brand they come from).
As a 2020 GT500 owner it's always cool to hear that another owner of a s550 GT500 feels as I do. I've had mine for a couple of years. It's velocity blue with over the top white vinyl stripes. You'll love the car. Excellent video 👍
I really appreciate this perspective. People bash on them without trying them out. Coming from you, someone who knows cars and has lots of supercar experience. Super good POV of mustang ownership.
I rented one of these on Turo. I thought the ride quality of the magnetic ride control shocks was pretty good for a sports car in the comfort setting. I’ve never driven a car that rockets so hard out of a corner. It’s a true supercar-lite driving experience.
I don't know how much stiffer is the 500. I daily/ track Gt350 put 13k in a year .Mag Ride is perfect for sport car, much more compliance than BMW M2 and rest of JDM sport car I had. I change subwoofer and tweet audio make audio even better. I won't call the car refine but road trip to track 5-8 hour drive, NVH is not bad at all and the cool seat is very comfortable. Only problem keeping me away from 500 is the consumable/ tire at track get ridiciously expensive. I will go through one set of tire per event with 500.
Agreed, I own one and the ride quality is great, I’ve written, and my buddies Porsche GT3 RS and my other buddies Porsche turbo and both had way a way harsh ride than the Shelby.
These videos have amazing quality. Joe, you missed your calling! Lol love the content, love the cars. I’ve been here since the beginning and you’re definitely giving me a run for most cars in a 5 year span! I just picked up a new RS7… highly recommend if you’ve not driven one yet! Luxury, power, no rattle, 12-14mpg if you’re pushing it, 25-28mpg on the highway.
owned my gt500 for a year now, the other cars I had was about the time frame where I traded it in and got something else, not this one, have not even thought about getting rid of it and I don't know if I ever will. You think you hit the limit on the handling and then it takes you to another level every time! 7:21 I agree, it's basic but you are right, I bought it for the performance, I don't care for the interior
I'm not really a muscle car guy but damn, you makes me want every single car you shoot with your video work! Plus, you always knock it out the park with spec... 🔥
Hell I have a 2019 F150 Coyote, and the 18+ blocks with changes and high compression sound completely different than before. Even with Borla S its almost more a mechanical exotic like growl vs GM 6.2 etc which sounds like just a regular V8 (not in a bad way) and it has so much character to it low city speeds, passing towing, its just fun. When you tune them, forget even Whipple which is mind boggling in a truck, but even tuned n/a had as much fun in this truck as Viper and others cars I've owned. I love this engine. All while in the comfort of a Platinum lol
You definitely need to buy/drive the very rare ZL1/1LE that is still sold in a Manual. The ZL1/1LE also did 7:16.04 at the Nurburgring back in 2017. Get one before they stop making them. It's the best calibration of the renown Alpha chassis.
The gt500 cftp smokes the zl1/1le on tracks in the USA, I’m sure it’s faster on the nur too.. both cool tho, gt500 is Alittle more special or rarer I would say, but also has a lot of cf.
I bought a 350, base with handling pack 2019. Loved the car, I also got the wife a 2020 GT 6 speed manual. I just sold the 350. Not gonna lie it was pretty bitter sweet. I picked up a 2022 base handling and tech pack 500 this week, not good weather up here but I can tell it is a hell of a car. I'll miss that sweet voodoo sound though.
Great video but completely disagree with ride quality maybe get your car suspension checked? Also big praise to say it's your favorite car. Is this a new car or used? That might answer a few quality concerns?
I just my 2020 GT500 today. Ran a 1/4 tank thru it getting used to it. Yes, the interior is pretty basic for $85k, but I forget all that when the throttle goes down. Amazing! I was shaking leaving the dealership (I'm still in fox body mentality), but that went away quickly. This is really a VERY easy car to drive. My buddy that has one said it 100% on point.... it just depends how far your foot gets into the throttle. He is right. Anyone contemplating this purchase... do it without hesitation. No regrets here. Amazing car and I am sure I am only 25% into what it can do. And I everyone shreiks at the only automatic given... let me tell you, this auto is faster than you can shift, and even with paddle shifting. I LOVE manuals, but this is really the same. I paddle shifted all day with no regrets.
I wish we could've seen you taking delivery of it and your initial reactions but still a badass video. Next video coming in November for the Enzo black Friday sale 😅🔥
Awesome video, I like how you actually spoke how you felt about the car and not held back. You were very straight forward and to the point, especially about the interior. I feel the same way, Ford always had crappy interior but car looks awesome. Thank you for the video and enjoy the car.
Cool video. I have a '21 CFTP car and it's an awesome machine. Love driving it in the mtns. If you drive the car in normal mode the suspension is pretty comfy for a sports car. Cruising on the interstate in normal mode at 75mph is comfortable and I get 21mpg. It's not bad but you say you drive in track mode all the time. Haha. There's your reason. Drive in sport w suspension in normal. So much better!
Always wanted a Gt500, finally bought one this year exactly how i had always wanted it, color, stripes etc. Drove it around constantly for about 2 months, then turned around and sold it. The trans is lightning fast, but uncomfortably jerky in traffic, the plastic rattles drove me nuts, and it was just way more badge than fun/enjoyable. I have a 6spd mustang supercharged with 800hp which is way more fun and enjoyable than the Gt500. I also have a 6spd challenger hellcat that also just feels way quicker. The Gt500 was probably the biggest let down I've ever felt towards a vehicle. Crazy to say
Cool content. I have a Huracan Performante and a 2020 GT500 (lime green) and I am conflicted in which I like more. LoL the Lambo is better on fuel tho and yes the 12 gal tank blows! Just found you and really enjoying your videos. I watch a lot of Throttle House and since they haven't released a new video found your TRX vid and now this GT500 vid. Where's the Raptor R video you promised?
Great performance BUT Shelby is a seperate entity from Ford and therefore not built ground up by Shelby. Still a good way to buy all the performance upgrades from a dealership. I believe the transmisssion is shared with GM?

I traded in my C8 Z51 for a 2021 GT500 with only 900 miles on her. Handling package and cool ass painted stripes. This car has so much more visceral experience over the tame C8. On a list for a Z06 maybe next year at Ciocca Chevy. Meanwhile I’ll burn threw some gas and have a ball. Keep up the good videos. Oh my interior is fine and I like the carbon fiber dash. My C8 had a tiny piece of carbon fiber for the same price. Also no radiator mese covering like the Shelby has. The Shelby also has an emergency way to put the car in neutral with the engine off. C8 you have to basically take the car apart and hold down a special tool. Ford does engineer their cars better for us buyers. C8 not so much.
They could have optioned a few colors for the interior seating. Red Napa leather would be a selling point for me. All that alcantara is a maintenance nightmare. My hands get sweaty you basically need driving gloves.

My 17 Roush Stage 3 is jealous. And the 500 sounds even better, which is really hard to believe. When I look at the Monroney the $2,600 gas guzzler tax sucks.
Everyone always saying a manual couldn’t keep up with the dct because the car is so fast. Sometimes it’s not about the speed and about the drive.
What does this car package run? I've heard one hundred thousand?
The new car is electrifying!
Now all you have to do is tint out the windows my dude 😎
Great review and very good personality by the way!
It looks great and sounds good Joe, I really want a 5.0 over here in Belgium but it's almost 5000 euro's each year on road tax alone...
Finally Joe's got his Elenore, shes going to be your favorite.
Hi Dear Sir how much the price please For GT500
