That exhaust note was truly intoxicating.
It's ok.
Road tests from auto magazines rated the transmission in the GT500 similar to the best available from Porsche. The noise you're likely hearing other than the exhaust is coming from the Michelin Cup 2 tires or what ever soft compound tire that GT500 is using. FYI. If you pull both shift paddles simultaneously You put the car in neutral for a little engine revving. Release them, and your back in gear. Highway mpg is rated at 18 mpg. City is rated at 12 likely due to quick traffic light starts. The GT500 isn't only a straight line performer, but an amazing track car. Back to the Auto magazines reviews. They felt the GT500 was closer to a Super Car. No longer a muscle car because of it's amazing DCT, handling, performance and aerodynamics that plants the car to the track. Your a lucky guy having someone give you their key to their beautiful GT500.
This is my most favorite Ford muscle car.
Great job with your reviews as always Ben.
I only buy and drive pickups but this is the only car I would consider buying. Amazing car.
We can all thank Carol Shelby for the Shelby GT500 and also other Shelby products Carol Shelby will always be the man Ben you should try to find someone who owns a Shelby Cobra and review that. That would be awesome to see you review a Shelby Cobra
4:55 you have the option to have a recaro with the "normal one"
That background of the mountains.... awesome.
True last of the last of the v8s..traded from a hellcat challenger good choice..new design on the way..hope the interior is better than the previous generation 😀
Great video as always stay safe
Could not agree more, picked up an identical GT500 like this one. Fantastic car.
Oh you picked on up. Lol bs. You people just have 100k laying around to “pick one up”
For a daily it’s a overkill !
For my daily commute of 80 miles thisGT500 would masacre my wallet.
Tanner you got a awesome car Ben you having to much fun in a awesome car
And the God's of the Heavens rain down to say long live the V8s truly a masterpiece awesome
Excellent video 👍 I own a 2020 GT500 in velocity blue with vinyl white stripes. Love the car. Mine is a base model but I do have a carbon fiber instrument panel and recaro seats. Love the seats. They keep you in place. They also look great. Don’t miss the heated and cooled seats because that has never been a feature in any of my vehicles. It was cool to watch you enjoy the same things that I enjoy about the car.
extra hot! 😍😍would you recommend an add on like the Victor Racing active wing?
Wow amazing Mustang
Any dragy times from the owner?
16:00 google earth car and a car that says just married lol
Love my GT500. Such an amazing car all around and it’s crazy to think that these cars are only .17 seconds slower than a GT3RS around the LeGuna Seca Track.
That track has a lot of straights tho
That GT500 has a lot of AZZ KICK, tho
🤣
@@F87Zach true
@@F87Zach still very impressed that I’m pulling about 1.2g’s in the corners
@@Mountain_Valley_Sky oh yeah it does 😂
Surprise the rotors ain't drilled and slotted or at least drilled, sweet ride.
The GT350 had drilled rotors, for 2019/2020 they upgraded to non-drilled because the drilled rotors would worp or crack due to excessive heat build up from track use.
Wish it were manual, having full control of the clutch is important to me
Not sure why you couldn’t figure out the glare - filming 101 - just drive to a shaded area next time
that engine is ASMR material
Hey Ben, come pick me up and take me for a ride!! Let's Go!!!!#!
Too much mark up on them. I have Shelby 350, but the 500 is marked up so much…for that much extra I’ll get a Porsche 911 instead.
They suck the fun out of being a car guy..... I was going to switch from Dodge to Ford just for the 500 but they mark up all of them 20k even used with Mileage. FORD IF YOU ARE LISTENING YOUR GREEDY DEALERS MADE YOU LOSE A POTENTIAL GUY THAT WOULD CROSS OVER.
Around how much does a car like this cost?
Equipped like this? Around $84k
Thanks!
It’s fast for some people but not for those that drive a Dodge Superstock
In a straight line, but the GT500 isn't a one trick pony. The Super Stock Challenger is basic for drag racing. There's more to enjoying a car than running quarter mile passes. The Super Stock is a muscle car where the GT500 is closer to a Super Car because of it's overall performance. The only performance cars Dodge knows how to build are for straight line drag strip runs. Completely different cars!
@@DWH300 the viper acr is a good performance car as well
180 miles a day ? Damn
No manual?
Nope
Wished the dealership would give you a clean car to review. Occasionally they are filthy.
Utah has on and off rain and tons of dust. It’s hard to keep anything clean on a regular basis
That's black for ya too. So hard to keep clean.
6 speed manual to get me to sign. Don't care if it's slower... Need clutch.
It has a clutch, 2 in fact.
@@simonj126 6 speed with 3 petals there slappy. Nvm getting cute, you know what I mean.
If Ford had put the Tremec 6 spd in this gt500. Be pple crying bout how other sports cars put a DCT in there go fast ride... I say. Until u put bout ~100 mi on a GT500 w/DCT. Don't judge Ford's choice. How pple judge somethin they never drove before is beyond me. 🤔
@@Mountain_Valley_Sky I've driven it. Fast automatic... So what? Real men prefer to keep their feet busy... Only weak men assume what others have driven.
@@mattearley6188 you think its an automatic 🤔. Well, let me know what YOUR Converter stalls at son. 😆 Real men go from A2B as qwik as possible, to get it done.
All the whiners who complain about the gt500 Dual clutch, just can't afford the car. It is expensive. & it even outruns every other Stsng ever built, including the gt350 'Paint Shaker'- Rod Bolt Breaker, on any road or track. Straight or otherwise. Dont worry thou, U can prolly get an Ecoboost 6 spd manual in '23. Before u get all twisted up, im just kidding u. We have all owned & drove manual Stangs forever. & yeah, they are fun. But if they were FAST, OR FASTER... u wouldn't see clutchless shifting manual tranny's in NHRA Pro Stock cars, since ~1973. The reason the GT500 has a dual clutch, is cuz its qwik on the track. Qwiker than anything else available to install. Who cares that its qwiker on the shifts. If I just wanted the manual gear box experience alone, I can get that with an ole Pinto, a Miata or an Escort. Real enthusiasts want whats Qwikest. & its not the manual tranny in a 90mph drift w/over 750hp that carrys a 3/36 warranty from Ford. Enjoy ur Mt-82.
95 miles with a half tank haha
My question is…this is a 2022 (which has only been available since April) that still has temporary plates on it…and it’s got 7000 miles on it!!! Where the hell is this guy driving this car??? Across the country and back?
Not to your house though.
In circles? 😆 at least he is getting his money's worth, & avoiding the crazy Sales tax. Lmao
My Favorite Car. That is 1 Sexy Mustang
Lol car is faster when it shifts itself!
Dying 🦕
Damn y’all couldn’t at least clean the car before you drive the crap out of it lol

Please auto makers stop using Alcantara on the freaking steering wheel! We don't white glove our cars please for the love of christ stop using that crap on surfaces we touch with our oily hands it's like owning a pair of suede shoes you know they have a very early expiration.... rant over otherwise I'm actually surprised by this mustang I actually really dislike Ford and 99% of everything they make but this one is nice!!
As a former Ford guy, I still prefer the hellcat over the GT-500. The Hellcat will go down as a legendary power plant and Dodge will build you one. Unlike ford and their Built Ford “Proud.” I have owned the first and second generation Raptors and the GT-350. Ford is now a very disappointing brand. Mopar is absolutely crushing it. Waiting on my Jailbreak Charger to be delivered later this year to park next to the TRX. 🤠
That's cute, for you. Which one will pull in more money over time? Not that one hit wonder Ford's been smoking MORFART for a long time. And will continue to do so.
@Antoine Swans you seem real intelligent. 👍🏻
Ford a disappointing brand? I'm a muscle car fan in general and don't bash anything with a V8 in it. It really is too bad that Stellantis is making Dodge discontinue the Charger/Challenger after 2024 along with the Hellcat powertrain. The Dodge electric muscle car is a joke - that is very disappointing. At least Ford is doing what they can to keep V8s alive in the S650 Mustang which will be long after Dodge has caved-in to the climate crisis crowd. Ford will likely be the last manufacturer with a V8 in a vehicle. I don't see how that is disappointing. With Dodge discontinuing their V8 muscle cars, I don't see how they are crushing anything anymore, except for the electrical grid once their emuscle junk comes out. I'm not bashing Dodge because they make cool stuff with a V8 but the trouble with the Hellcat is it's only a straight-line car... S550 GT500s walk all over them at the track, especially a track with turns... people don't even bring Hellcats to the road coarse because they are scary boats at best. There are video's all over the internet of GT500s walking Hellcats hard on the street and at the track, but the Hellcats are great cars, they are no GT500, especially at the track. Everyone likes what they like and gets behind it so I get it. What all of us enthusiasts should be doing is pushing back on the gov't, their control, forced ICE obsolesces and soulless EV's.
We are lucky to have all these m7scke car choices from diff manufacturers. Throwing hate around on anyone who builds a V8 product car is just silly. We need competitive car brands that do different things well. If everything was nearly identical it would really suck. So buy what ya love. Throw shade on the competition 'in fun'... & run um all hard when it's a safe place to do so. Like the track. Let's not hate on ea other so much that we forget who the enemy of these cars really is Today. & depending on who ya ask, that enemy might be different. I missed out on the late 60s/early 70s muscle car Era by a few yrs. So to get this rally after 2010 when GM brought bk the Kamaro, & Dodge has been building the Challenger for a few hundred yrs now.
(Im Kidding ya~~GM/Mopar fans)
We all need to be happy that the manufacturers have built cars that fit every budget & style. This Era is ending soon. It's like 1972 all over again. So git your chit together & hav that car u want bought & in the driveway/garage.
Cuz we don't really know what prices are are gonna do in 5 yrs. I know this.. The gt500 is a fantastic car. Regardless of the hp output. It's ability to corner & brake alone, make it worth more than nearly anything a Michigan auto maker ever produced. Thkfully the Shelby is still made in N. America. I'm not sure I could take it if they were made in some state other than the Muscle Car Mecca of Mich.
Instead of hating the other brands. Go to the track & race um all!! 🏁 🏁
Unfortunately Recaro seats are extremely uncomfortable. You need to loose a lot of weight before getting into one of these.
