I just bought a 2014 GT500 with all options and only 10,500 miles. It is such a great car. I almost passed over the 13/14 GT500s, so glad I started looking into them more.

Just don't make 800whp or more on stock motor. Andrews red one made 808whp stock motor, and bent a rod not long after.
It's always been one of my favorite mustangs ever. They are one of the most aggressive and impressive stangs when done up right.

Keeping the rods alive is all the in the fuel/tune and RPM
Bought a new '13 GT500 back then - Mine was Eleanor. I guess it was OK. Motor was a monster, but the rest of it didn't do it for me. Big and clumsy. Cheap plastic inside. Dumped it after a little over a year. One thing I will tel you - If you put some sticky tires on it, plan on a shifter as well. Something about it hooking up hard will twist things in the drive line as you go WOT, then the shifter won't go into 2nd gear until the revs come back down to idle. Frustrating to say the least.
Unhook the pvc hose and vac line to see if there any oil.unscrew the oil cap to see if you have blow by that will tell you if you have a ring or piston problem
I stopped watching the channel after El Choppo was gone, it was such a special car. I never unsubscribed, so now I'm back to watch the real deal again. Let Sub-Zero rise.
Ford nailed it with this design. Deep down, I want one of these to park next to my ZL1.

From my motorcycle days, Blue smoke = oil. White smoke = water. Depending on the color, it could be either the head gasket that's going, or oil blow-by in the cylinders. Either way, you'd be in for some work.

Crankcase ventilation issue would cause this problem. Bad valveseal would be smoking all the time. But i have faith in you, your knowledge around mustangs and their engines is really awesome. The car looks really nice tho

As long as it’s an 11/12 5.4 doesn’t matter. Sleeve that block, go whatever bore you want and never look back

Either you're gonna end up doing a ring job, or it's just the PCV. I was initially thinking it was for sure blow-by from the rings, but since it seems like it only smokes under load, I'm kind of leaning back toward the PCV.

I had a srt4 that did that... turned out to be a cracked piston. Check cylinder compression on each cylinder

Drop the mufflers and change the plugs and run it to see if it clears up.

My car smoked like that and I had cracked ring lands on 4 pistons , ran good too even under boost
love the channel as always, and that color is fire!!! It strange how the smoking is intermittent like that to me, is it possible it has to much oil in the motor, catch can full, or just a breather system issue? I feel it's one of those 3 things and not the motor itself. But I've seen strange stuff before lol its not impossible to be a internal issue.

on this one, it's a mystery on this one what it is, first startup and parking it, it didn't smoke at all, that
would rule out valve seals maybe, oil rings on pistons? You will figure it out. Sweet looking GT500..
I bought an 01 cobra that was smoking exactly like that. I never diagnosed it since I just swapped in a long block but I did see the number 8 cylinder walls were stained badly from oil.
This is a great move for the channel.
I miss El Choppo that car was a beast , sad it was sold

I hope it’s not blown but that’s exactly how the smoking on my car began, car ran great, idle was normal as well but it would start smoking while driving and when downshifting. I hoped for it to be just a bad PCV, nope, valve seals nope, it turned out to be cylinder 8 piston rings failure, letting oil into the chamber, only cylinder 8 all others were ok. Eventually the smoke got worse over time so I parked the car. Remove the engine and shipped it to RPG to have it rebuilt, luckily there was no major damages to that cylinder wall. That was back in April, should be getting engine back this month.

@@BC08 Nope, Will did not recommend sleeves since I’m not going for big HP numbers, I just want a solid road course oriented n/a build.

Could be an overfull catchcan and dumping into the intake.
It's almost better if your new (used) car breaks down. After you repair/upgrade it, you know it's reliable. If your car smokes like that in CA the Highway Patrol will get ya.

The driver seat looks like it might have had an airbag go off before and was restitched, or is the stitching just kind of worn right there?

Love that blue color. Had a 2011 Gt500 traded it in on a 2013 BOSS 302 Laguna Seca after almost a year don’t know if that was a good idea, still miss that car
Boss 302 is a huge downgrade unless you intended to road race it
Throw boost on that boss. You will not regret it. the boss 302 is the best s197 car to build
@@BC08 the road runner engine is better than the trinity. They hold more power. Boosted boss 302s are legit

@@BC08 well cnc ported heads, better rods and pistons. Variable valve timing. Alot more options for aftermarket being it's a coyote variant. So yeah I'd say it's abetter engine

@@AlexFlowers-y4r I have a 1100whp gt500, and a gt350R.. the voodoo is nasty with boost and unless you want a full time drag car(s197) the 350 is huge upgrade as far as interior and the overall chassis/technology. And the boss 302 is a badass engine from the factory, so a boss 302 with boost I’ve personally seen 1100 to the tire on pump ethanol. So if you wanted a s197 chassis the boss is lighter and cheaper.

I’ve seen these things cracking oil pump pickup tubes from the engine vibrations stock.
The Voodoo is an inherently flawed engine and its inferior to any cross-plane Coyote.
The crank isn’t even substantially lighter than the standard Coyote crank so the Voodoo doesn’t even pay off the main point of a flat plane engine.
I’ve owned both S550 and S197 Shelbys and the S550 interior is hardly a huge upgrade over the Coyote era S197 interior at all.
I was disappointed the S550 interior wasn’t a bigger upgrade.
It was a restyling more than a quality upgrade, still has the hard plastics and nice to touch surfaces in the same spots.
Boss 302 is OK. It has a slightly stronger connecting rod and more compression. That’s it’s main advantages

This is always my least favorite part of automotive UA-cam. You had the perfectly built TT 2021 GT500, and had to get rid of it for an older car because content. Sad to see it go as the 1300HP GT500 was what got me into your channel in the first place. Good luck with your build 👋🏼

@@HDR20 Aluminum block was WAY thicker cylinder walls because it’s siamese bore, the iron block is not a siamesed bore block.
The aluminum block was thin PWTA liners but much thicker/stronger cylinder walls
