After months of delibirating over my next Chauffeuring car, 2018 Mercedes S Class vs 2018 BMW 7 Series, I finally went with my heart and ordered a 2018 BMW 740LD xDrive M Sport. In this video I head down to Berry BMW in Heathrow to collect my brand new car, Hamzah and I go over the spec & options on my car.

Don’t do it bmw is way more advanced and more fun to drive, You don’t need a car with the gear shifter on the steering wheel it takes away the fun out of driving.

No Bowers&Wilkins, not even Harman Kardon speakers? In a full size sedan this is a must have, you can't drive around with simple passive speakers.

I have one myself using for chauffeur 2016 M sport new shape. very nice car to drive but slightly disappointed with the wheel.
my got 20 inches wheels and every slit touch on the cob always damage the wheels. in 2 years, I have refurbished the wheels three times. It will be nicer if BMW can make the tires to protect the light alloy .
You can put Waze to the car's infotainment system through android auto/apple carplay. I think it's easyer.
Q and Pierce Brosnan would be proud about the parking itself :P

Joe, Nice car. My 740-68 reg is Singapore Grey and I love it. Why? Because after driving Mercs for 21 years this 740x M Performance made me smile :).and I had moved from a S500-68:). All I can say is that s500 is presidential - too bad it was LWB- sold it after 4 months. Surprisingly all costs went down with my 740 by almost 21%. S classes are way more expensive to run.
Great review Joe! How was that 740 over the 2 years I assume you had it? Looking to get a very similar one second hand, and would love to hear some feedback.

them fuel figures your quoting I don't think youll ever see I got a 335d xdrive 2017 and local driving is 29mpg and that's driving in comfort mode with out hooning it also change to iPhone as apple play supports waze now so no more mounting your phone anymore happy days
super sweet ride yo, and with xdrives now too!! i think u will like it fosho. been 1st winter fer me with xdrive 240i and surprised me how much it lets u get the tail out in sport+ on the snowy roads, lotsa fun times. cheers and congrats yo!

Lovely car Joe - some great choices with the extras. A real luxury cruiser. What's the sound system like - HK or standard? Do the speakers light up like in the latest 5 series? Great to see all of the M touches! Maybe not the look you want for a classy chauffeur limo. Although it's a seriously fast machine which can justify the badge. Just need some 'M' projectors on the floor when you open the doors!! ;-)
I believe HK is standard on this model, and you can upgrade to Bowers & Wilkins.
It’s the standard bmw advanced system. It’s alright but really they should have the under £1000 Harmon Kardon ones as standard. The bowers and Wilkins is the one that lights up and it’s like £6000

Just watching this again and what a car! Love the 7 with the long wheel base & rear entertainment, but my favourite bit of your car is the M badging on the front side panels :)

Those badges will come off no problem. Just put electrical tape under the edges so the badge doesn't dent the paintwork when you remove them.

Lovely, lovely spec. Congratulations! I would have chosen a 7 as well. One thing: did you get the HUD? And are those the full LED headlights or the standard ones?
Cheers man :-) To be totally honest, I forgot to tick the HUD option, I will definitely miss it, one in my older 7 was so helpful. Standard LED with adaptive option, couldn't justify the even better ones... Cheers

Cheers man! No TV in this one, I had one in my old 7 and it never got used, also had to draw a line on cost.
I dont Know which one to choose this or the s class for my work. In Geneva people prefer the s class but i like more bimmer
Joe, Im currently looking at the 7 series as well over here in Sweden. Im personally a little skeptic over diesel engines future market development so I really want some advice on whether I should still choose the 40d engine over the 50i engine? I personally would like to save some money by choosing the 40d plus that diesels are way more fuel economical. However do you think that it would be hard to get rid of it after 4 years? Do you believe that the diesel market will die out since all governments in EU basically want to increase the diesel car taxes? Here in Sweden the price difference of these 2 engines is around 13K EURO
Congrats on your new car Joe. You made the right decision as you wanted a 7 series and you need to live in it and be happy. I couldn't care whether I get an S Class, A8 or 7 series back from the airport, except to try out different cars and specs. The primary importance to booking again is the guy driving the car and I know you're a top fella! It's a big investment for you and I have no doubt that it will pay dividends (and let's not skip past the fact that you can get a decent deal on a 7 series and you are running a business!). Perhaps a mention at least to what you offer in terms of your business might not go a miss? You have a lot of respect on-line and surely a fraction of your viewers could use you?
GTSussex the S Class has better deals especially on a lease. It also had near £20,000 discounts in 2016. It’s the cheapest vehicle in its class when it comes to deals

Nice car,although your salesmen didn’t seem very knowledgable. Constantly referring to spec sheet when talking about details of the car and most worryingly telling you the car could steer around the mini. I’m pretty certain it cannot steer and will only move forward and back.

BREAKING NEWS - Joe found sat on the M25 hard shoulder as the rear passengers hacked the tablet from self park to self drive mode - Car last seen in Monaco. The tech on that car is nuts, nice to see you showing that sort of stuff.
Beautiful colour and spec, stunning car, congratulations! It is of course the right choice over the S class (when you’re 20 years older you can think about that)!
I hope your interior leather doesn’t pick up colour transfer (I’d recommend Gtechniq leather protection), I’m not sure about the nappa but my previous E90 had lemon yellow and it picked up colour from Jeans and polo shirts. There’s no way it’ll get close to the claimed mpg figures ... I get 34-35mpg in my F11 535d (313hp, so likely same engine). Probably a similar weight.
