Man I really really dislike the 4 cylinder M135i. The last one ditched so many things that made this platform awesome. It has a front biased AWD, automatic only, lackluster 4 cylinder and it looks really bland. Unfortunately this new generation fixed nothing about that if I'm not mistaken. It looks even worse just like pretty much every new BMW. And that pricing... These things are getting comically expensive. For that price you could get an almost brand new used RS3 8Y with the torque-vectoring AWD, emotional 5 cylinder and arguably much better looks. Where I live you could even get a used M140i AND a used M2 f87 for the price of just this car. Or you could do what I did and get (also for the price of one new M135i) a low mileage GR Yaris and a C63 W204 with the legendary naturally aspirated 6.2L. There's so many more exciting things to get for 45K£ and this is most definitely not one of them. So sorry to tell you that. I think you're an awesome reviewer with a, usually, great taste in cars.

I just picked up a ‘24 128Ti and so glad I did. They are on crack with the price of this newer 1er 😢
BMW used to be more customizable than Mercedes and Audi, just short of Porsche. Now at least in Australia you can only choose the paint and wheels. 😅
Cool. We don't get these in North Amerikuh, since they dumped 2er GC here in 🇨🇦 X1 our entry model (& it's about size of original X3). So like chasing Porsches in M5 Touring, this is as close to real thing as I'll get. Too bad, enjoyed '90's small 3ers.
Brilliant idea and viewing
Best 1 series 140i guess they can't make anything like anymore with co2 regs
Sorry Joe, can’t agree with you on Tanzanite. You might put buyers off. My 5 series Touring looks stunning and I’ve not found any issues you mention. Mind you, I don’t have a garage. 🙄
Cheers gents
Would love to see one of these on a new 550e
Cool original E30 M3 on desk, haven't seen 1 b4 (also 4 cyl.).
Joe wene you guna get a m5 😊
The new 1 series looks like a Kia.
Crazy to think I owned an m135i that would be 10 years old now and that still had more power then this thing 😳

@@GBFeb72 sorry if the truth bores you 😂
@@darrenwalters6339 nope just you 👍🏻
@@GBFeb72 You’re bored because you’ve ordered one and anyone negative about the car will irritate you.
I don’t understand why they couldn’t have used the B58 as in the F series and made a little more svelte and aggressive.
@@Lestalad1961 I’m more than happy thanks.. the boredom comes from irritant sheep 🤣👍🏻
Mixed tyres in South Africa built BMW imply different sizes front and rear but same make
Would be better with the b58 at least 😢
@@ells-aviation I don’t believe they can fit B58 it is just to long to be fitted in new shape body. However you now get slightly more legroom in rear.
If only they still did a 3-door, it would be perfect.
Is the problem it the german cars tho mutch of options 😮this type of options dont have this in a Lexus 🙂
BMW should re-issue the E30 no change to the body; with modern components.
BMW please note:
11 colours
4 are grey
1 is black
1 is white.
6 of 11 are MONOCHROME!!!!!
3 are Blue!!!!!
Please offer a better selection of colours.
For god’s sake
If you think that’s restrictive take a look at the Golf R choices !!
@ agreed ! But still - we want colours!
For 50k, you get a ford focus clone from 2016 with more cheap plastic
If you had a 3 year old one of these how do you justify the extra money to upgrade.
We have the same problem with the i30n have a 4 year old one, the newer model is 98% the same and will cost 18 odd grand to change.
Ok, you get a new car all the hot hatches are 50k that’s a lot of money and Interest to pay on any credit with current interest rates.
May be keeping the current cars until they die 😂
What will happen with Tony and Co next year? BMW is scrapping their dealership sells model 😢
Not happening until 2026 so don’t worry. 😂

Nice Kia !!! 👍
why would you ever order a bmw non rwd biased?, this is a fwd platform and quite a boring one.
You are absolutely right!
Most of the time fwd is absolutely fine .Also rwd can get a bit twitchy in damp and wet conditions. FWD also makes for a bit more space in rear seats.
Because it's a good car
@@dertobi257it is not, considering 'the ultimate driving' machine ethos of bmw.
It is a boring fwd platform to be brought by those who think golf gtis look too mainstream "cheap"; aka, they want a bmw!, the thing is, this is no real bmw when, basically every hot hatch and hot crossover-ish hatch on the market is a better car; this is the antithesis of bmw's ethos. If it were the best hot hatchback on the market, sure, why not...but, when you, as a brand, renounce at your core values and the result is something mundane and bland, how can you put an M-badge on the thing?
So you’ve driven one, no?
The facelift car looks very similar to a Kia Ceed to me…😢
🐑
The M135 from 12 years ago has more BHP than this 45k new one
This car in the Netherlands is 80k😭😭
You need someone to sort out your wardrobe Joe 😂
Spec’d up a Paulo Yellow M135 with the sport pro pack and went through this dealer for a price but the interest rates are just killing the motor industry. BMW are becoming over priced. Ended up going with a new VW golf R. Much more reasonably priced.
Nice Kia
The front end looks just like a Kia Ceed...
How much do BMW charge to delete the badges?? 🤣🤣
The prices are an absolute joke!
£0 👍🏻
Obviously over your head, that one! 👍😉@GBFeb72
Used X3 M40i money that and a much better motor too.
Still can’t the M140i - great car & probably a future classic with the beautiful B58 & ZF combo👍

I'm sorry to say, but I don't like the new 1-series. Looks like a KIA or Ford and in my opinion lost something which identified it as a BMW.
4 pot. FWD biased.
Just no.
It’s in line with its other competitor’s golf R S3 A35.
But it’s not in line with it’s previous iteration or BMW’s heritage. It’s a mini ffs
I’ve been a BMW man all my life but this M135 I’m afraid I would keep my 45k in the bank. We are going into our BMW dealership on Friday to spec and order the new M5 Tourer.
Should have ordered the new M5 Joe.
Why when the M3 touring is the better car.
@@JohnGuidetti751the M5 is too big for the UK roads.
@@JohnGuidetti751 agreed, the M5 is the perfect vision of bloated ugliness.
Love you Joe but this seems a bit....😬
