I'm finishing a baby blanket using the moss stitch but needed an easy border and once again Melanie came through for me! It's a bigger blanket for my 2 year old niece for Christmas. I'm always struck with the sadness of Melanie's passing when I get on her channel and the gratitude that her videos are still up. She remains my favorite crochet tutor!

Melanie Ham Yes I love both looks of the blankets. For my daughter who I am making one for now, I like less space to keep her warmer at night. I plan to make the larger hook for my Mom. I also love your border blanket and plan to purchase the premium coarse for that :) Do you have a tutorial for a kids beanie hat with the two Pom Pom balls on top? Would love to learn that for this winter. 😁❌⭕️

Hello! This was a few years ago! I’m finishing up my blanket and looking at this video to do a border, however in this video, are you not doing two double crochets in the empty space like the original video ? Are you now just doing the double crochets into and actual stitch ?

You are a good teacher Melanie. This was my first crochet project ever! Very easy to follow.Still, I made a huge mistake. The foundation chain side turned out shorter than the other side, so my blanket is not rectangular. Is my chain too tight at the beginning or the rest of my crochet too loose? I have read tha tit is advisable to use a bigger crochet needle for the foundation chain. Is this true? Anyway, I'm very happy with my first blanket and with what I have learned.

Maria Arroyo Cabre The best thing to do is to count your chain in the row every now and then. You probably have more stitches than in the original chain. They have plastic safety pin like markers. I put one for every 10 or 20 chain to keep track.

Melanie, I'm working on the purple and white blanket. My question is if I decided to do more than just 2 rows of border, do I start the next round in the same way as row 2?
