    I really love how you showed us how to "fix" uneven stitch counts. As a beginner, this is very encouraging. Most other videos are all "perfect" counts and/or tell you to pull out your work to make it right. I have progressed to the point of being able to judge if my uneven count is fixable in some areas, but I am glad to see how to do it on this lovely border.

    Thank you for this video. It is brillant.😂😅 You explain really well and you don't rush the work. The camera is in the right place and you show exactly where to place the hook. I used this border on a baby blanket. It looks beautiful. Please can you put up on screen the equivalent UK terminology if you are using the US terminology. I learnt crochet using the UK terminology and it can get a bit confusing.😮

    • @TiaraLaceCrochet
      @TiaraLaceCrochet  10 днів тому

      @katzwhite5962 Thank you. I totally understand what you mean about the terminology. I switched to US terms a while ago. I found when looking at the stitch height US terms made more sense. For example a slip stitch just sits there a single crochet is next, then 2 sc on top of each other or stacked make a double crochet. For a US treble I see 3 sc on top of each other. Thank you for reminding me how confusing this gets to help I will try to include the UK equivalent in my future videos either with text or I will say the equivalent. 🥰

      You may be able to do 7 hdc in the corner if you ch1 instead of 2. Have a try and see what you think. I know we would usually put sc, ch1, sc in a corner.

    Thank you so much😊 I have searched a lot for such tutorial❤ my name is demyana from Egypt... The reason I searched for this video... is that I am doing it as a book cover for my Bible ❤🎉 😊 but as I am a beginner... I am still struggling😢 with where I put my border...
    I started it with:
    - two rows of double crochet
    - star stitch row (changing colour every star stitch row)
    - two rows of slip stitches (same colour the whole work)❤
    I'm struggling with
    - marking the places where I am going to put the border of double crochets
    - marking the place where I change colour every row
    I mess up doing the beginning and ending of all rows 😢
    Can you please make a tutorial for it 😮 if it is akay with you 😊 but please use stitch markers at the beginning and ending of every row 😅 as I am totally blind 😂 that I use theses markers later for the border 😊❤
    Thanks for your time

    Can i ask why you use American terminology? When I hear a UK accent I hope for UK terminology - have we just given up on it altogether?

    • @TiaraLaceCrochet
      @TiaraLaceCrochet  2 роки тому +1

      American crochet terminology makes more sense to me. I am also aiming to cater to a wider audience. Perhaps crochet terminology will continue to evolve. I have many old patterns and the terminology can be quite confusing. I love to simplify things where I can. I would be more than happy to do separate videos using UK terminology /US terminology or simply explain both...that might be better. Let me know. Thank you
      Best wishes
      Susan x

    • @sandik100
      @sandik100 2 роки тому

      @@TiaraLaceCrochet Thanks for the reply - I find UK terminology more logical - two passes of the hook = double etc, but I'm quite easily able to 'translate' now.... I don't think it's really worth doing separate videos now, we maybe just have to accept being overtaken, as in language and spelling - it's just a bit sad! The patterns are still lovely anyway.
