Not gonna lie, these shopping videos are my favorite video format on your channel. Don’t get me wrong I love the scientific videos too, heck this included a ton of science in it, but I just like seeing the how you explain the science in products that everyone sees in the stores. Much love and keep pumping out awesome vids!
Say hey Thomas, I think this is one of your best videos. Maybe it's because I shop at Costco. One reason I go there is because they have a decent number of actually healthy foods and food products. And you pointed out a good number of products that I haven't tried. So, thanks for doing the heavy lifting.
Fiber has helped me SO much to lose fat, I'm 15 years old, I've been wanting to lost weight since forever, I don't know anything about ""rich fiber foods"" but I consume fiber gummy vitamins 😂😂, they are AMAZING, I was shocked, I went from eating all day long and having snacks as big as the size of MEALS, to consuming 3 meals a day, and switching milk chocolate with dark chocolate(my favorite snack as of now), this accompanied with good sleep (8 hours wich makes A HUGE DIFFRENCE), staying hydrated and working out 3 hours per week. Never felt so happy. Thank you for bringing attention to mister fiber 👏👏
Never mind the fiber for now!The perfect gentleman, helping out another customer ❤ so glad to see this ! I lost over 2 lbs overnight, adding 30 grams of fiber
Thank you for this! Since watching your other fiber vids, been focused on getting more in. Learned lots of fantastic info. Loved your tip on the artichokes (have avoided in the past bc of canola oil but now I can!) and the goat/garlic story. Pls talk abt watermelon/fruits for workouts!
i live in Australia and notice how many more organic product you have in the USA stores than we do here, lets hope we catch up one day. I love these videos they are a great learning tool 😊
You gotta get out of Australia before they make you guys eat nothing but crickets. I heard they are making elementary school students eat them already over there.
Somehow found your channel today, I’ve never seen collagen explained that way and was surprised to learn a few things about other products. Super helpful!
I loooooove these kind of videos, learning new things along the way. Great to know about the sugar and fiber ratio. Keep it up Thomas. 🙌🏼 Back to binge watching and learning. 😄
Seriously an amazing video, Loved shopping and learning!!! Accountable for our own health should be a priority 😉 Thank you Thomas for making shopping fun🙏🏻☀️
When you grabbed the guac the first thing I saw was pupusas lol that’s awesome, I’ve never seen them here in SC. Great video by the way. Thanks for the content
first time I have heard the "sugar to fiber ratio" suggestion 2:1 as the max. Interesting, Never really thought about that in that way before. Thanks! I've been trying to use any good info to help me in my journey -- I've lost 89 pounds so far in the last 18months.
I did learn a lot and really like your fiber and insulin resistance talks! Thanks so much! Just trying Basil seeds and love the nutritional profile especially the high fiber! Have you tried them?
Thank you for all the science and easy to digest information! I noticed the Costco seaweed uses seed/vegetable oil. Wondering what is your recommended boundary on vegetable oils in processed organic foods?
Can you share a video on how you cooked the siete tortillas in the added footage? I usually go for the cassava version- the almond ones fall apart on me and the texture doesn’t come out right. But the tostados and tortillas from your footage look amazing 😊
Walmart has psyllium husk powder without any kind of flavors or sweeteners. Can't remember the brand, but it's a round white bottle with a dark red lid.
This is an excellent video!! I shop at Costco a lot! I like what you said about the yogurt! Now I will try them! I have to say out of all these people on UA-cam I trust Thomas the most! He is not a sell out! He is very knowledgeable and knows what he is talking about! Some people talk about lectins and natural flavors too much if we had to avoid that completely we would not have anything to eat! I just stick with Thomas and his opinion! Thank you for all you do!
Hey Thomas, What a great grocery shopping experience at Costco. You get straight to the point when making good healthy choices to what best to our food diet. It was very helpful and educational. Keep those videos rollin' on your channel. I always look forward too them. Thanks!
had no idea about the gut barrier relation with MCT oil... terrific information! every morning I get up with a cup of organic black coffee, and an MCT oil bar, from the brand NuSkool etc
“I’m just gonna give them a bath” how cute! Lol I love artichoke hearts. Thanks for the tip! Can you recommend any low carb tortillas when we really want some? Mission was my go to!
I would love to learn more about fruits and vegetables . I have chronic gout and high cholesterol and hight blood pressure. I find your videos informative and helpful.
This is so good. Heck yes, I do the same thing with Cacao, you can also get fermented cacao, which can be cool too :) and if it’s not fermented, the flavonoids are awesome! Thanks as always Thomas 😊
Great video Thomas - I love this style of video! Super interested in what you said about Watermelon intra workout, would love to hear more about these types of gym hacks!
The Kirkland Hemp Hearts intrigued me since I normally get them at Giant or Walmart. Costco's website doesn't have them so I'll have to see if they are stocked locally when I go there next.
Marinated Artichoke Hearts. I have a 1-cup sieve. I filled it with artichoke hearts. Ten minutes later I removed 3-tablespoons of canola oil. I'd prefer to buy artichokes hearts in olive oil, but this isn't too much extra work.
The trouble with fiber for a lot of folks is if you have SIBO the fiber feeds the bacteria and causes a lot of issues AND is metabolized so the carbs DO count. If you are wondering if you have SIBO there are breath tests but if you eat this stuff and you have gastric distress you might want to get tested before embarking on a lot of fiber.
Don't shop at Costco, but so glad I watched this one. So informative. You sure know your stuff...I'm subscribed but don't watch too often (sorry)...I really need to change this!!
Costco sometimes carry the sprouted organic otas. I think the company name is one degree. I hope one day I can heal my gut so I can consume some more of these fibers.
This was a great video... Really practical tips on what to look for! I've become frightened of carbs (despite TRYING to convince myself to think in net carbs, I still see carbs as the 'dark side' LOL)... but this has meant my fibre intake has dropped, and I'm not - how to delicately put this?! 🤣 - 'regular'. This was really helpful, and a push for me to see carbs as not entirely the enemy, provided they come from the right things. I also have insulin resistance, and I know increasing my fibre will help there too. Thank you!
The Benefiber (green container) you dismissed as another wheat dextrin in the last segment. In Canada, that same product is 100% pure inulin, no additives.
So bummed to hear about carb balance tortillas. I have eaten so much of those during my weight loss journey. But I think it was worth it as I’m already down 85 pounds.
I learned that food manufacturers are allowed to report zero trans-fat on their products so long as it represents less than 0.5% nutritional value, which is why I was taught to read the ingredients. It's amazing how much food has trans-fats in them, despite being made a boogie-man long ago.
I love Costco and the effort they make to get local products and those made in the USA & UK and EU. How do you eat that seaweed? Do you dip it in something?
Love the shopping video hun . I'm always looking for better options for my oldest she autistic and has thyroid problems . She won't eat a lot of deferent things . Mostly pasta and some chicken only veggies is green beans. She is a challenge 🙏
I love these style of videos. LOVE when you go thru the ingredient list, and you always add gems of knowledge. I was just at Costco and I can't believe how many products your reviewed that I was looking at. Sidebar: I keep seeing from credible sources to avoid CHIA and FLAXSEEDS because they are estrogenic. (Also mentioned in the great book Estrogeneration) I used to pound them in smoothies and now I'm worried about that. What is your take?
Excellent and helpful. I appreciate all your videos. Really liked comments on psyllium. Would just flip over a video talking about how to incorporate when intermittent fasting. 1) does it break a fast? 2) best after protein and if so how soon after? 3) how often, how much? 4) take apart from supplements? And whatever else your excellent knowledge can come up with.
What do you think about this product from Costco, I was hoping you would showcase it.... Innofoods - organic dark chocolate KETO Nuggets with coconut, pumpkin, quinoa & sunflower seeds?
Not gonna lie, these shopping videos are my favorite video format on your channel. Don’t get me wrong I love the scientific videos too, heck this included a ton of science in it, but I just like seeing the how you explain the science in products that everyone sees in the stores. Can't emphasize how much I admire these Costco episodes!

Seeing what to look for and labels and what that means to me has helped me so much. More educational actual groceries hauls!
He needs a round of applause for this because to do this and risk getting put out the store for our health is super hero like.
Yeah, that would be good pr for Costco, huh?

@digichew thank you so much for the kind comment!
I love how that guy did a double take when you were talking about seaweed 😂 he’s like “check it out it’s Thomas DeLauer!”
Does Costco seedweed have seed oil??
@@claudiapangan1676 yes, I'm confused why he recommended it.
My son was recently diagnosed as type-1 diabetic and watching your videos has been super helpful with learning what to buy. Thank you!
A lot of respect as you keep learning and evolving with the evidence and science. Not just defending same views
Never mind the fiber for now!The perfect gentleman, helping out another customer ❤ so glad to see this ! I lost over 2 lbs overnight, adding 30 grams of fiber
I would definitely like to see more videos on the effects of fruits and glucose during your workout!
As always great healthy haul and invaluable info for those of us who really care about what we put in our body. Thank you!

Excellent video. I learned a lot. Plan to buy various items Thomas talked about, starting with the Seaweed snacks,
My favourite fibre food are
Psyllium husk, chia and flex seeds , legumes and nuts , inulin powder, apple , pear, steel cut oats
I make my own sourdough bread and other bread like things from my own milled flour. Doesn’t get more whole food than that. Thx for the video 😊
Keep this content coming Tom!! Absolutely invaluable
The shopping videos are my favorite!
marinated artichoke hearts--I rinse them off and grill them along with grilling zucchini. Delish.

I really enjoy these walk throughs. I take screenshots and go shopping. Please do more. Thx.
Thank you this is a very informative video. I’m always looking for low sugar foods.
I am about to join Costco because of your video. I need to lose 65 lbs. I will be checking out your channel.
Just found your channel n i love these shopping videos❤ I've learned a lot!
Does glycemic response mean the same as insulin spike?

@25:55 he recommends Siete Almond flour tortillas. We get them from time to time, family really likes them.
I enjoy Ole tortillas. My dietitian switched me from Mission to Ole.
Check out serious keto on UA-cam. He did a huge tortilla review and there were some good ones he found.

I've been big on fruit for years. Definitely do more videos about hacks and stuff about fruits
I bought some of that turkey breast today, excited to try it.
Thank you for speaking out against the nonsense lectin argument about beans. They are a great high fiber food that also has some protein!
Thanks Thomas for your awesome videos , love the Costco shopping videos.
I’m interested in more videos about fruits.
Well done sir. Thank you.
Wow it’s impressive how much you know. I would love to get there one day
Don't shop at Costco, but so glad I watched this one. So informative. You sure know your stuff...I'm subscribed but don't watch too often (sorry)...I really need to change this!!
@29:02 yes definitely more videos about the fruits with more glucose for workouts!
when i crave heavy carb foods like sushi, i get seaweed snacks and it helps a lot.
Costco sometimes carry the sprouted organic otas. I think the company name is one degree. I hope one day I can heal my gut so I can consume some more of these fibers.
Great info, very helpful and plz yes share more on how you incorporate fruits in your diet.
Fantastic video, it’s all applicable and very educational. This is one of the best.
I’m all in favor of you doing more videos on anything muscle building!
Also thank you for your input on canned salmon last time, bought some:)
More video on what fruit to eat and when! Thank you

That's awesome! Don't fix what's not broken...lol!
It’s a balance!
I'm in the same boat. I wonder if it's better to just go back to the regular tortillas that are cheaper.
psyllium husk--I take the capsules. No sweetener, just psyllium. 2 caplets every night.
didn't know about the mission carb balance wraps! I'll try to limit those. usually My favorite low cal wrap. ty 4 video
9 grams of sugar is a little less than 2 teaspoons. NOT horrible. For the Ametican diet, not bad at all.
A can of soda pop has 10 teaspoons of sugar.
I recently subscribed to this channel and I am much more informed about healthy blood sugar foods.
Jumping on the bandwagon...love this walk throughs. Interesting yeast extract is MSG. Never knew!
Collagen is not a polysaccharide, it is a protein build from aminoacids.

My Costco does not have many of the items that you have. Really interesting. I'm in Washington DC.
More more more Costco hauls 🙏🏽💕

Thomas, please talk about carbohydrate timing. Both intra and post workout. 28:45. Thank you.
What do you think about this product from Costco, I was hoping you would showcase it.... Innofoods - organic dark chocolate KETO Nuggets with coconut, pumpkin, quinoa & sunflower seeds?
WOULD HELP IF U SHOWED THE PRODUCT FACE SLOWER INSTEAD OF SHUFFLING IT AROUND AS U TALK??? JUST A THOUGHT!!!
Monthly grocery haul pls for all the major stores
My kids love the seaweed! It’s not bad!
What is the good salmon to buy. Is it Costco Salmon good? Which one to buy good to buy from another place?
