      Yes ... And Belgrade and Nis are the two best cities that everyone should see ... Novi Sad is overrated and closer, that's why they also go to it ... Nis is the second city in Serbia in terms of what can be seen in one city after Belgrade .... For those who know how to enjoy Nis is better than Novi Sad ... It has a soul ...

      @@djdox2425 I can not agry with you about Novi Sad. Novi Sad is one of the best looking serbian cities. It is question of individual afinities, which city is better for someone. Fact is, southern and eastern part of Serbia, including Banat region, is visited mutch less then northern part and some places in western Serbia like Zlatibor and Kopaonik. For example, i know just one man who visited Kragujevac, Kragujevac is historicaly and cultural very important city for Serbia. Also Valjevo, very very important place with it neigborough. Kikinda, Leskovac, Vranje, Negotin,... Bunch of historical palces and location sorounds these cities.

      @@hypatiatv421 As far as beauty is concerned with those eyes, Vienna is more beautiful than Istanbul ... But when it comes to history, food, soul, they can't be compared ... In my opinion, for these reasons, when someone comes to Serbia, the first two cities should visits are Belgrade and Nis ... Novi Sad is beautiful, and it certainly stands, but the parameters on the basis of which I visit some cities abroad are actually the same as those of Belgrade and Nis in Serbia ... They have everything that is appreciated .. Again, I say that history, culture, tradition, food, and soul, and something specific to the country I come to, are more important than the superficial appearance and mediocrity of the exaggerated, economic status, and the very position of the city ... Which certainly does not mean that Novi Sad not a beautiful city ... I agree that it is ...

      @@djdox2425 It is your opinion. My opinion is. Everyone should visit what he or she wants. But, our duty is to introduce auditorium with smaller serbian cities, with other non trandy locations in Serbia, not just Belgrade, novi Sad and Niš, as 3 of 4 the bigest cities in Serbia, if we count Priština with it 500 000 people. Before war, 100 000.

    Hi Matt & Molly, I really enjoy your Serbia videos. I literally searched on YT for 'Belgrade, Serbia' a few weeks ago after I friend who I recently caught up with really enjoyed travelling in the country and recommended it to me. Since I found your Serbia video I really enjoy watching them and have watched all your Serbia videos so far. It is a really interesting country with a lot of history and so far is kind of an undiscovered country in terms of international tourism. I plan now on visiting Serbia myself probably in September. I plan on staying in Belgrade first but will visit Novi Sad and if I have time probably Nis as well. If I manage to get to Nis I will definitely have a Burek in Antons place.

      It is much more convenient to visit Subotica and Sombor after Novi Sad - two very beautiful and much smaller towns - than Nish. And, it depends what you are going after - if it is architecture and atmosphere, Novi Sad, Subotiza and Sombor are much better choice. Food is generally good all over Serbia. Burek is found in every pekara all over Serbia - flaky, crusty, greasy, with cheese, meat, spinach, fruit ...

    (Wheat) 'Palachinke' are actually type of 'Crêpes Suzette' (in the US, adapted from French) but I'm not sure how they are called in England - maybe English don't like French adaptation. In the US 'Pancakes' are thick and made from 'Buckwheat' if made properly.
    Also I believe that 'yogurt' everyone consumes with Burek there is actually Buttermilk and not yogurt at all but I left Yugo long ago and could be wrong. Yogurt is 'thick' while Buttermilk is more 'liquidly'.

    Guys I am salivating!!!! if you are back in London can you send some Anton's borek, please!! One advice, you must buy yogurt with a burek. And Nis is not only famous for borek we are the best of the best for the BBQ meat and meat in general. You need to go to kafana there and to try the best cevapi, lamb in milk, gurman's burger and pljeskavica with kajmak! Nislijska Mehana! We are much much better than Leskovac!

    By the look of it, seems very good. Spinach most often goes with cheese in pastry.
    Actually, what you bought was very cheap even for Serbia. They probably sell it there by weight, not by piece.

      It's by piece. One quarter (two pieces, perfect for one) of cheese burek is 110 dinars.

    You guys are really fun to watch...and true foodies btw...amazing how Matt likes spinach and paprika in Serbia but not in England :) it's ok for not liking yogurt with burek, you are Brits after all, to get to like the combo, it'd take you guys moving to Serbia altogether :)

    You may not like yogurt, but there is a better dairy there "kiselo mleko" and "pavlaka" . You can dip things in it, while pavlaka can be spread. Also have you tried Serbian 'proja' the best cornbread in the world? I think proja is better than burek, you can eat it all day alone or with anything and it does not need to be warm so easy to carry around.

    Feta cheese is called Beli Sir in Serbian. Beli = white, Sir = cheese cognate to the word sour because that's how cheese is made-it is fermented. The word Beli is cognate to the English word pale.

      @brankovucetic4448 3 роки тому +1

      This is not feta.Feta cheese is made from goat and sheep milk and this cheese in burek is from cow milk
