It is just a song about Robert Plant's dog, Strider. It refers to Elvis' dog, Old Shep. Strider was a Blue Eyed Merle.

Bron-Yr-Aur is an 18 century cottage located in south Snowdonia, Wales. The English translation in breast of gold or golden hill. I think Robert Plant went there as a small boy with his parents and again later with Jimmy Page in the early seventies. Many of the songs from their third & fourth albums were written there 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

During that acoustic set, they performed two other songs, "Going to California" and "That's the Way", both also excellent and worth a listen. I enjoy them all because I enjoy watching the great Jimmy Page grooving on an acoustic guitar. lol
Led Zeppelin can't really be pigeon-holed. Incredibly creative and versatile musicians, and just when a new listener thinks they've figured them out, they hear something seemingly out of left field. Led Zeppelin is certainly considered a hard rock band, but they pulled on so many other music genres that it's better to just say that they created a genre all their own. ;)
Very much enjoying your Led Zeppelin reactions. Keep 'em rolling! :)

It's pronounced "brawny your stomp" 😂It's one of Led Zeppelin's many acoustic pieces that incorporated folk, rockabilly, country, etc.
The song was names after the cottage Bron-Yr-Aur in Wales where Led Zeppelin recorded some of their iconic albums... It was a secluded farmhouse out in the British countryside where they could make a lot of noise without being disturbed.
Despite being in the biggest rock band in the world, both Robert Plant and John Bonham bought farms in the English countryside where they settled w/ their families... According to Jason Bonham, when his late dad John Bonham was home... he would usually chill at the bar drinking w/ his farmer friends and talking about sheep and cattle... and would often work on the farm. John Bonham's vice (besides alcohol) were cars - he would spend his fortune on vintage cars... Car dealers & salesmen seeing him looking long-haired and casually dressed had no idea who John Bonham was or how much money he was worth 😂

Plant was more frugal with money, not buying all kinds of stuff. When home he milked his goats, & enjoyed simple life. They hated leaving their families, but loved preforming live, & always gave fans their all. Bron-Y-ar belonged to Plants father. I think pretty much it was Page & Plant went there. If I remember correctly, no heat or running water. The whole band stayed together wrote & recorded at Hadley Grange, which didn’t have heat.

@@sicotshit7068 Jimmy Page was the player in Led Zeppelin and twice divorced ... Robert Plant was a player too (which is likely why he got divorced in the early 80's) and has never remarried. Plant had an affair and son w/ his ex-wife Maureen's sister years later... Plant married Maureen early and she supported him while he was a struggling singer in Birmingham before he joined Led Zeppelin... Plant's dad had apparently kicked him out of his home for his career choice ...
John Paul Jones was already a successful musician in the 60's and married in 1967... and was never a ladies' man it seems. He always seemed to enjoy his privacy and disappear while on tour.
And John Bonham married his girlfriend Pat after he got her pregnant while they were still teens in 1966... their son Jason Bonham was born that year ... John Bonham was reportedly not unfaithful to his wife, but he had a tendency to drink heavily and become violent on the road.
It's sad because he had a stable family but was an unstable character when inebriated.

Top 3 country song. And The Beatles’ Rocky Raccoon is too.
(This is essentially experimental bluegrass and it’s insane musically)
    Beatles
    Zeppelin
    Floyd
    Talking Heads
That’s my top 4 bands. Nuthinnn but bangers.

When you take in all of Zeppelin's range, this song actually isn't so different for them.
    Because they did EVERYTHING.
So many styles, and a whole lotta' acoustic pieces too.

Heard an interview with Robert Plant and he pronounced it like us Americans would say Bron Hour Stomp. Either way it gets no better than the the better fab 4 Led Zeppelin

It’s pronounced a bit like: bron er eye-r. A bit quickly and a bit all together. It’s Welsh and Welsh is really odd to us Americans. Heh

    Bron-Y-Aur is a Welsh word (I'm Welsh).
The easiest way to pronounce it is Bron a^ Our*
^a flat 'a' as in cat, not gate.
*try and roll this 'r' if you can.
