For today this is my favourite BIBLE. I have been reading it since it came in yesterday. It IS very good print AND a very good translation. Many THANKS brother.
This is a great Bible. I received one Tuesday and I love everything about it-the colors, the size, and the text block. I’m especially blown away at how favorably it compares in readability next to a full size Schuyler Quentel, despite being in a much more compact package.
Thank you so much for this unboxing and showing off this stunning bible, Tim! The more I look at it the more I am looking forward to mine arriving. In your lighting the purple looks dark and I think this is a true representation of what the leather looks like in natural light. I've ordered some fabulous ribbon for mine....and shall be reviewing it!
That is definitely a purple Bible, and I do like that it has the Apocrypha added. I love what all of the different Bible makers are doing with their Premium offerings, they are so nice. I'll have to live vicariously through y'alls Bible reviews, their are so many great offerings out there these days. I look forward to seeing the full review, God bless!
Mine arrived yesterday. It's beautiful. I'm glad the NRSV is getting some renewed attention. With the NRSVue on the horizon it's a real pleasure for those of us who use the translation in our worship and for study. I read somewhere, maybe it was the Fans of the NRSV page on Facebook, that NRSV users are content not to have a large selection of high quality editions but I would disagree. I was looking forward to Zondervan's purple premier collection NRSV and I'm looking forward to seeing what the premium bible publishers do with the NRSVue in 2022.
Getting mine in tomorrow. Love these editions with the deuterocanonical/apocrypha books and glad to see them getting the premium treatment as well. The speckle is so neat. First purple bible!
This bible is really nice! I've seen schuyler folks talk about the need for a medium sized Quentel & I think this fits the bill. It's really easy to hold & read from.
I got this and the Schuyler RSV this week. I’m surprised that I like this more! It doesn’t quite beat my Alan NRSV1 but this is my favorite size premium Bible until the Cambridge Diadem.
I got mine yesterday and it is incredible. The size is perfect. The print is the perfect amount of dark and bold. I love purple. It is about as good as it gets as far as I am concerned.
I have that RSV Quentel with the Apocrypha at the end. As a practicing Catholic I was delighted to find a premium-quality Schuyler for us. You know what I'd love to see, Tim? A premium-quality Douay-Rheims Bible for us. Crossway's leather is what I use but it's certainly not premium, nor is the one by Baronius Press. I still think, as a convert, that the Bible manufacturers are missing the boat in not offering top-quality Catholic-compatible Bibles.
Ty for these reviews. I have wanted a purple bible for sooooo long. I know nothing about NRSV translation though. My favorite is NASB, but there are no bibles in this translation that are my dream bible. I’m 52 this year and know that to keep it for the rest of my life, I should have large print. Please do review on bibles with the best type faces for large….
I have and really like BOTH for different reasons. The purple is the princes who be taken out a lot; while the former is her heftier step-sister, who will serve at home. Both have dark (and IMO easily read) print, but the font in the black bible is very large, bold (heirloom) and compressed; whereas it is large, thin (elegant), and spacious in the purple bible. The NRSV Single Column Premier is a taller, thinner, and @ twice as heavy book than is the purple Premier Two Column bible. The Black one has at least one inch of space in columns - great for notes; but the purple lends itself more for reading and carrying. The black leather has a slightly chemical smell - the purple tanning smells natural.
In Australia "sprinkles" are tiny, coloured sugary balls that are sprinked over buttered bread, lol! Which I do not eat, btw....not had sugar in 4 years :-) But I reckon that the pattern over the page ends probably do look like sprinkles after all!
@@artistchristos when someone says I have not had sugar for this x amount time I never believe them. If you eat fruit and veg you have had some sugar it just happens to be natural. Sprinkles are what you put on cup cakes and even on ice cream in the UK and whilst I won’t eat that kind of stuff every day when I visit my mum and she makes a cup cake I will not say no I believe in moderation
I like the look of this Bible and I will get it eventually, but I have so many Bibles coming in at the moment (Schuyler RSV, Humble Lamb Shepherd, some rebinds from Frost Leather), it will be maaaybe a Christmas gift to myself haha!

For sure! Great font size for this overall size Bible.

We’ve gotten a lot more high-quality editions in recent years.

I think Catholic Bible Press may be starting to offer more options in years ahead.
If they do a blue NET single column reference in the premiere collection I would be so happy
Me too!
Love this!!
Me too!! ❤️👍🏼
Mine is due in today!! Can’t wait!
Awesome!!
Thanx, Brother Tim 🌹🌹🌹

Glad it was helpful!
I’d love to see how this compares to the Zondervan NRSV premier Bible.
That’s what this is!

Beautiful! ❤️
For sure!
I would like one of those Bibles !
They're great!
I just don’t have the money!
I am hoping this is the purple NRSV with the sprinkles(that’s what I call it) art gilding
You're gonna be happy!

@@claudiabailey5302 I actually have a keto/carnivore diet and veg and fruit aren't in it. Sugar is just not on my radar!

Nice!!!
The size and FEEL are "as good as it gets."
Comfort print with 10 point FONT is very readable. I think.
Agreed!
Almost won't buy a Bible anymore unless it's is in a pretty color like red or blue or NOW purple. THANKS.
You’re welcome!
A Goldilocks BIBLE between PSQ and regular size Quentel.
Great for serious Roman Catholics!
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You remind me of Blippi.
You're the second person to say that recently!
