- Took the opportunity to take 1/2 hour to shoot the ever popular Astra. Was done in a bit of a rush as i was low on Time but that said, have a watch.. If you like it subscribe and we'll endevour to make these videos more popular and hopefully more to come. Many thanks
Appreciate the effort in this video mate. This very well may be my first car! But the 1.4 model (for insurance purposes)
+Majid Ahmed I actually have the 1.4 litre model - it is my first car (I'm 18). It's much better than having a 1 litre Fiat Punto or something similar because you can actually go on the motorway and not feel like a liability.
***** I've had no problems at all, except for a puncture. I put in about £10 a week petrol and that's enough for me to go into town, to and from college and to work.
+Jake Wrightson I have the 5 door 1.4 SXI was cheaper to insure than a fiesta 1.2! Great little car absolutely bullet proof I get around 370 miles off a tank.
Insurance for me on the 1.6 costs 1200 for the year with black box 😂 dunno how I get it so cheap
Jake Wrightson what as the mileage when you got it? Thinking of doing the same.
I'm going ti be buying this car in 2010(not the newer model)
I test drove it and it seemed like a really sturdy ride!
I was really impressed by it! I couldn't believe the boot space in it either!
Great car!
Great video too
Really an excellent reviewer. Very professional, informative and engaging. 👍
ive had one since feb lovely car plenty of room for me as im 6ft 2. ive got the 1.4 get 370ish from full tank around the doors. reversing a bit tricky with small rear window not enough cup holders awkward buttons/knobs on centre console. going from a diesel that done 48mpg this does 33ish.
Is the car reliable
@7:00 for the drive
Just bought one and drive that road all the time lol
Same 😂2021
I hv this car as my 1st car same colour but mine is Automatic and petrol +CNG,great video thanks
I regret selling mine 2 years ago. Much cheaper to maintain than newer cars.
2:23 that is a space saver fella
How do u adjust the wing mirrors
Can you tell me if your car has Bluetooth have a 3 door 06
Nice car
Has these only got for 9month. Manifold problem cost alots money. It very comfortable drive
Can i buy a 2010 vauxhall astra manual? Any advices will be appreciated.. Thanks
My Sri 1.9 got a 6 speed box automatic and a sport button it's a beast
Stephen Grifiths how old are you? whats insurance like on it
@@JC-cr3us I'm an old man I'm 51 and insurance is 380 a year as I've got over 20 years No claims
20 years no claims surely your insurance should be cheaper, my dads got 20 year no claims and he drives a 2 litre insignia only costs him 190 a year
I know this video is really old but does anyone know if the 1.6 Astra 2005 model has Isofix in?
It should've been standard on Astra h's of that time. If in doubt go and check the rear seats for a U-shaped metal ring.
Josepho M hey thanks for replying, I’ve checked and can’t see anything resembling isofix unfortunately.
@@Jade-240 If it is there it should be towards the bottom of the seat. Where the backrest meets the bottom of the seat. Make sure its not hidden behind any cloth also!
Josepho M I’ll get someone to double check for me! Just incase I missed them, thank you 😊
@@Jade-240 what's an isofix? I've got one of these but only been driving a year. Does it have aux anywhere do you know where it can take USB for music?
What the light on the dashboard that shows an image of the car with tools in it
Electrical fault light
I have a 2006 twinport, just like the one in the video, same colour.
How do I know which model it is? Some people say Astra H, Astra J, Mk5 etc.. I never know which model my one falls in.
Can you help?
Thanks
Hello, in Britain generations are spelled mk and in the rest of Europe generations are spelled g, h, j, k... you have an opel astra h / vauxhall astra mk5
In Brazil, it is called Vectra GT, by Chevrolet.
Hey man,i heard that this one takes some oil,and what about de mpg,i will get de 1.6 16v 105hp with 170k km.Is it any good for a crowded city?
great review thanks
The reason he said 2006 model is because it was registered 17th Jan 2006.See you need someone as sad as me to look at the MOT history to see that.
😂😂😂😂🤣I rate that icl cuz I was wondering
I love the car
Anybody know how to turn passenger air bag off on h is model?
I used to have a 2006 one but it was totalled in a side crash :(
Classic takeaway car
Better than a BMW 3 series...brah
Bruce Wayne it’is
I mean if them people can’t afford one it’s understandable I guess😂😂
One question a 2006 but a 5 in the numberplate...
Nice to drive, quiet and smooth, good boot space, seats are quite comfy. Interior cheap and flimsy, coolant issues, noisy gearbox at about 64k miles and was getting jammed in 1st and 5th, then an issue with the engine come up that could not be repaired. So i gladly got rid of it at 70k miles ish. Pretty nice looking exterior though.
A great 5 door hatchback much better than a ford focus I have the 1.8 elite
Kennynwten what’s the difference between elite 1.8 and life 1.8 automatic petrol as well
@@jeffb7256Just hi spec the elite is the top of the range
I'm 18 and about to buy my first car. And really considering the Astra (1.3/1.4 versions) how are they in terms of reliability? Do they have many problems or are they solid well made cars?
solid cars , very reliable , and very cheap maintenance. this is the model with witch opel remade a name for themselves
@@toneeb9192 I know this comment is old but my mum had one years ago and only at 3 years old it broke down so many times. In the end, she sold it and she spent 4 grand fixing it
what's colour code?
The fact he's surprised about the one-touch triple blinker makes me think this Astra is the actual first car he's ever driven. As in... seriously? Get yourself some european 'rental's babes!
Nope. Ive driven many cars and Astra H has these blinker that dont stay in placr even for long blinking
Does is have an AUX plug or Bluetooth?
AUX
xSTEPHEN250x none
Dan Hebbard where is it. can't find it 😂
@@kuda2010 don't have one mate got to fit it yourself
@@kuda2010 next to cup holder behind the hand brake 😉
you got in the car and never tested the air con lights and other stuff
8:52 WTF ? Was that an R-33 parked on the right ???
I Magnettik yes
vectra gt in brazil
Why is this car named opel in europe
in Australia its called Holden Astra
I’ve always wondered
Because the Astra is first and foremost a OPEL.
The Vauxhall is just a rebadged OPEL.
Vauxhall hasn't designed a car since the original Viva and OPEL has been responsible for the design development and manufacturing of them since 1980.
All Vauxhall models are variants of existing OPEL's or models from other GM subsidiaries.
2005*
Rpm on motorway
Can I ask why that matters please? Thanks
@@joebloggs7103 fuel consumption I suppose. It does rev a bit high on the motorway since it only has 5 gears
@@josephstjohn3871 ye I had this car and on a motorway it was a nightmare, going 60 it would be screaming at 3k revs lol
