Very useful, very clearly explained . I have the wagon version. Good cars, good enough maneuverability, and very comfortable for a family. It has a good quality: cheap parts, and relatively easy to repair and maintain
Hi great video, have a AU twin top 2009. One thing that has alluded me do the head light turn off once the door has been opened. My other ride 2008 Toyota Prado has this feature. Does anyone out there know this? TIA
That Astra is in mint condition. One thing I know of that isn't in the video is if you push the light dial in and turn it to the right it will reveal a secret little stash spot. It's not as useful as the stuff you went through but it's not something most people don't know about.
HI very useful video just want ask about headlights stay on 30 sec when u leave car, now have you got to do this all time u want use feature as mine wont do it everytime ?
I'm actually thinking about getting one of these first thing after passing my driving test, but I just wanna ask one question How do you cancel the indicators on a car like this?
You have two options when indicating, a half push or a full push. If you full push but you want to turn it off, then half push and it will turn off immediately. I think almost every car that has those type indicators will have that feature.
Depends on the spec. It will have the buttons on the stalk if it does. Sometimes it can be fitted with a stalk and clutch switch and coding if the wiring is there for it.
There isn't a software to enable it. It will need to be coded in. Your control units have a list of what is installed on your vehicle and this will have to be changed to reflect that you have cruise control for it to work. If the wiring is already there then you would replace the stalk for the version with the cruise control buttons on it then possibly your clutch switch then I would go to the dealer and ask them to enable cruise control for you. It will need to be enabled in the engine control unit, cim, bcm and abs units as well
@@dr.drakeramore2740 Opcom is a USB dongle and software package that offers dealer-level diagnostics and will let you turn on cruise control. You will need a laptop running XP but the whole set up will almost certainly be cheaper than one trip to the dealers.
Hi may be a stupid question but have noticed that the fuel light doesn't have the little arrow telling you what side the cap is on,,,any ideas why thanks
If you have fog lights you will have 4 swiches next to the main switch left of the steering wheek (Or right on vauxhalls I think). 2 closest to the main one will be for the front and rear fog lights. If you have only 2 switches you don't have them and only have a switch to dim the instrument cluster and for your headlight position.
@ They can be retrofitted to work like OE but you'll need to find the light switch with either both rear and front or just front fog light switches. And you'll also need to wire it which could be a hassle if your loom doesn't support it but it's certainly doable.
My doors lock when I start driving and unlock when I take it out of the ignition, that's not a problem.... but I cannot lock or unlock my Saturn Astra XE 2008 using my actual key fob.
Locking is done by the remote. Insert your key and turn on the ignition. Let the codes read and for the immobilizer light to turn off. Press and hold the lock key on the center console. Your doors lock when you start driving because you have "anti-theft" mode on which basically locks the car when it goes above 5km/h, it can only be turned off by a diagnostic so if it doesn't bother you better leave it.
I would book it into a dealer because you will likely need the wiring schematic to accurately find your fault. Check your fade settings to make sure it's not that first. It's in the audio options.

Only the Airco filter is a pain in the A##. It's behind the glove box.
Yes it's a bit difficult to get to, but there is definitely alot worse out there. Some of the Renault cabin filters for example

Do you mean this, to remove the light switches?

I just bought this today as my first car🎉
Congratulations. They are a fairly decent car. Easy to repair if needed.
A question I've had for some time, is it true that the Opel makes calls? I've always heard this but I don't know how to connect to Smartphone ..
Don't think the Astra H has that, it was added into the Astra J
No Bluetooth unfortunately. Maybe a headphone jack but that's it.
Astra h has a original Bt UHP unit and mic plus tech and up to programming but nedds also a cid display and at least cd70 navi
Thank you for taking the time to put this together, very useful 👍
Your welcome 👍
Thank you heaps helped l would like to no do astros run at a high temperature but no over heating
How do you make it where you can see the gal/h like yours? Mine says the range miles but i want it to permanently say the gal/h like yours
I think if you have the engine idling and your not moving it displays gal/h but once you start driving it will change to mpg
If you still have the car and havnt figured it out, hold the settings button till noise is heard then click bc and scroll through
That is changed by scrolling the left thumb wheel on steering wheel

Yes you have to do it every time. 👍
Vxr doesn’t have temp gauge. Didn’t know about the lights staying on for a bit🤙🏻
I thought it did... my mistake
I have a sxi 59 plate astra snd there is no warnning or indicator sounds any way to get them louder
Useful, new owner , thx!
Your welcome. 👍
Does this work on all astras? Mine is 2004 and it seems it doesnt have that.
Very useful!! Thank you. 1 more. How to make it to automatically lock all doors while u start driving?
Not possible
Maybe press and hold door lock button 30secs works on some other vauxhall models
That is in the OBD menus. You need GM OBD control software.
How might you cancel all the fault codes?
With an OBD2 computer
Hi. Do you know how to change the screen to show km/L instead of L/100km?
And how to set the outdoor temperature gauge to C instead of F?
Sorry I don't. I haven't got 1 to test at the moment
hello, press the setting button, go to system, browse with vol up vol down buttons to go to units and voilà you can change all the units

Yeah what @fares5751 said
I have an Astra and it was my first car and i couldn’t love it anymore, definitely get one😊
OT you said stand for Engine temperature, in the video appeared 72, how do we know what’s the right number?
72 what ? Celsius? Fahrenheit?
You chose in settings which one you would prefer.
It would be Celsius as he didn't have it running long and normal temp is 90 Celsius
Hi there its stu will this work on a zafria? thank you
I have never tried but they share alot of similarities so I would guess yes.
@vehicle53 thank you mate I'll have a look when I get the car lol
Great video cheers , does this work on a 2007 astra sri ?
Should do. I don't see why it wouldnt
