I always thought that Adam and Hoss had a more mature relationship. Joe and Hoss were always up to shenanigans with Joe trying to playfully manipulate Hoss into doing something they shouldn’t be doing. I especially liked those moments when at the end of the show, Adam and Hoss are walking away from the camera (She Walks in Beauty, The Dark Gate) and Hoss casually reaches up and puts his hand on Adam’s shoulder. It appeared…to me at least…such a genuinely affectionate gesture.
Mike was invited to Camp Pendleton, Cal. to take part in one day training exercises for the marines in 1961. Sixteen Magazine did a spread on it at the time.
The pic of Lorne and Dan is from 1960 when they appeared on Ruth Lyons 50-50 club. At the time, it was the highest rated daytime show. Ruth was forerunner to Oprah. 😊 The pics of Mike in uniform I think are from when he was a marine for day which I guess was for publicity.
2:53 - I think that picture of Dan is a still from the movie "Come Blow Your Horn" made in about 1963 (?). It starred Frank Sinatra as a 'worldly' older brother teaching a much younger brother about life and 'coming of age', 'women' etc. It was quite entertaining. Most memorable Dan moment of the movie ? Dan, socking Sinatra's character in the face, he is thrown backwards across the hallway, and into an opening elevator, and gives the one word command, to the elevator operator : " Down ! " Great stuff, and so funny !! :)
Adam and Hoss had a very caring relationship. They went through a lot together as children, as in A Journey Remembered. Joe had a more settled childhood.

As always entertaining bits, on screen and off, when Hoss takes his anger out on Adam, Adam doesn’t strike back, he takes getting tossed around
What is the origin of adams real name?
Pernell asked him to name his character after his mother’s father- Adam Morgan. Originally the character was called Evan.
I read somewhere that ML served a year in the National Guard.
Michael Landon was never in any Armed Forces of any kind. The photos are from Publicity Department promotion of Marine for a Day
