You prolly dont give a shit but if you're bored like me atm then you can stream all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf these days :)
@@raphaelfrancisco89 Yeah, what the other guy said. At the peak of your ollie the nose is pointed down. There are probably some good videos of "boned ollies" on UA-cam. For me that idea really helps to keep the board flat as I spin.
I was practicing on BS 180 and my issue seemed to be not fully completing the 180 by landing on 90ish degrees then bailing. I thought to myself, "maybe I should try to overshoot the 180," and I've been landing it more consistently. However, your explanation makes more sense than my overshoot thinking! I think I was actually using my feet to complete the rotation and I didn't realize it until now.
Oh I'm gonna try this, I found yesterday when practising 50 50's on a small ledge I was struggling to Ollie up on the rail and at one point I thought I'll try Ollie up on the ledge all together and did my best 50 50 so I started using that thought technique to overshoot it and it worked really well. I've been struggling with 180's so I'll try this too, thanks for the idea.
Big thank you for doing this video. I am going out tomorrow in the A.M. and trying to master this trick is on the menu. You are the man, straight shredder.
wow this actually helped me a lot to figure out the trick properly. I was doing them sketchy without the boned look for a year. For me, I figured it out by first trying to bone out the ollie a bit. That got me halfway to a better BS 180. Then I focused on winding up more and spinning. So basically, what helped me was: 1) bone it more, 2) spin at the same time.
Great tutorial. I appreciate the slow motion full body shots of you doing the trick as you talk through it. Breaking it down into 2 parts is a great tip. I think this trick can be more of a mental block than anything and I'm pumped to try that.
This is perfect timing, just started kind of figuring out the trick, so my boards going more than 90 now but I’ll have to try out that feet tip and see if I can get them! Great video!
I was practicing all my 180s in every stance and i put my back out. Im about recovered and gonna get back skating again. Im exited! Love your videos keep them up
Thank you very much! I've been working on bs 180 for some time but they still feel foreign to me, and I am not very consistent in landing them. I think your tutorial is very well suited for people like me, who know the basics but need some input to approach the trick in a slightly different way. I have never thought of mentally partitioning the trick mid air, and I will try that!
This was beyond helpful thank you so much. I've been doing the second half of the trick and neglecting to do the first half which is the head and shoulders rotation thanks man!!!
I’ve found that stretching helps too. I went from not being able to 180 to having them on lock in like 2 weeks. So there’s a tip. Also stretching reduces risk of injury in general
Im currently trying to learn these. Thank you! My board kept going side ways in the air. It took me a while to realize that i had to keep my front foot flat when dragging to prevent the board from going primo in the air
I never thought of it as 2 parts but that is a great way to think about it. A lot of flat ground 180s look rushed. But a good pop really makes the trick look great.
I don’t skate anymore, but I thought about it being 2 parts. 2nd part being at 90 degrees. When I was at 90 deg I needed to focus on leaning towards my heels because my natural tendency was to lean too far towards my toes. Big spins and big flips lean heel side at 90, but I’d catch those around a full 180. Bs flip and bs heel same thing but I’d catch at 90
Adventures in Skateboarding At 40 Plus eh idk I’m thinking about it, but will probably just stick to golf. It’s been my hobby since before I quit skating
You are probably not going to see this but every time I try to land a hard flip the tail doesn’t move and the nose goes behind me but when I don’t try to jump I can do it perfectly. Pls give me a tip
crouch so your back & ass are hanging off heel-side of your board and keep your shoulders straight, after you pop your front shuvits flick off diagonally towards your heel-side pocket & keep your shoulders closed & jump backwards with your momentum
Backside i feel is harder than frontside. Especially if you’re goofy (i am) For backside i just find it easier to kinda wind up, ollie first then spin while pushing your feet around just like u said.
I have never got these. Nowhere near! I have a mental block when rotating bs on a skateboard. I can do BS 50-50, BS 5-0, BS Smith, BS boardlides for days, but the BS 180 still eludes me. Even backside reverts and BS powerslides to fakie, if you can count them, are in the bag. Front Side 180's are healthy and effortless. No thought required. Two things for me are fundamentaly wrong. No matter how hard I try to pop, my back foot does not want to lift off the ground. Like my back foot will not commit or is disconnected from my brain. Second thing is, no matter how hard I try or rotate my arms, head, hips, my feet will only go 90 degrees. It is purely in my head, but I can't unlock it. I have been battling these for 6 six years now and all the tips produce the same result. They are so far off, I don't know how to begin to fix them. The most frustrating thing is that this is my go to trick on a snowboard! FFS!!! I can do 1's, 3's and 5's on a snowboard, backside or fronside. The only limiting factor is the condition or shape of the kicker which determines whether I take off heel or toe edge. I need therapy.
My favorite trick ever. Especially down things
Hell yes. Enjoy so much doin them down eveything
Can’t wait to get this one down, they just look so cool
I do this trick compulsively cuz it’s so fun
Always my favorite go to

Your UA-cam channel is possibly the greatest outlet for skate tricks, and how to do/learn them. Keep up the amazing work!
I’ve learned the most from your channel than any other channel! THANK YOU BRO!
You got some of the best bs180 videos I'm sure that's why people (including me) enjoy these videos bro! Thank you!!
I recently figured out that if you try to poke or "bone" your ollie during a BS 180 it helps tremendously, at ;east when learning them.
What does bone the Ollie mean?
Raphael Francisco when the nose dips down instead of being level. Just a different word for tweaked

It changes the axis on wich the board rotates making ut easier. Will went over this in his backside flip video
Best skate tutor on UA-cam much love from Venice

You've got great pop man, this would be a perfect video to explain to someone 'how they get the board off the ground and sticking to their feet'.

This is good way of thinking about the technic. Where you are watching, degrees and other points
Thanks for putting the effort...

This video Just made me land my first few good backside 180s without a pivot
Thanks for this! I'm really struggling with these bad boys. I always forget to actually ollie while twisting / turning.

Wow! That crossed up version is sick!
i love your style brother! keep doing these type of content and obviously - keep skating

@SKATE HACKS thank you, i am learning alpha flips and i struggle to get the hospital past 90 due to my shitty bs 180s . Very helpful
Thank you
I needed this thank you so much!
Thank you man huge help i feel like you have much more control using your feet more so then your body wind up
Im currently trying to learn these. Thank you! My board kept going side ways in the air. It took me a while to realize that i had to keep my front foot flat when dragging to prevent the board from going primo in the air

Sounds like me

@@passportpersona same lmao
Try pretending that you are goin to do a noseslide when u go to ollie in to bs 180 myt work
@@georgegraham4911 that's genius, makes a lot of sense. Just need that pressure on the nose to lift it
if was a video about reverts (after trick)?
