Relearning how to skate after 2 decades. This video helped a lot. Thanks man.
Never wanted to skate a flatbar so badly after watching this!! Thanks Tom!!!
lets goooo! THANKS for watching !
Spoiler alert please😅
Same bro
I have a relatively nice flat bar on the side of my house so I’m super excited to watch this.
Bro same! I’ve always been terrified of them but after watching this now I want to go skate on! This dude is the best
Tom just did all the basics in one video. Props I can’t skate rails I needed this
Got back into skating last year at 32 and I watch ever video you drop! Growing up in the 90s as you know we didn't have this accessible and holy cow does taking your advice help! A real service you are doing for the skate community bro! Much love!
That FS nosegrind was definitely an overcrook 💯 Anymore crooked and it would slide into a noseblunt
Why has the industry forgotten about the overcrook and salad grind😢
You’re a really good teacher, the way you explain these tips just makes sense and not all extra
THANKS ! glad you enjoy
A man for the people!!
I'm re-learning how to skate because of your videos. Thanks so much for your generosity. Truly appreciate you!
lets goo! GOOD LUCK and THANKS for watching !
Tom's channel is my favourite thing about youtube right now. I feel like I'm learning how to skate all over again.
Damn bruh, smartest pro out there doing UA-cam too. Legend
Right when he mentioned leaving out some tricks i immediately thought of noseslide. When I was a kid I never wanted to try those on any type of round rail. When u do a nose slide on a ledge there’s really no balanced involved u just slap it into place & gold all your weight over the foot that’s on the nose. Doing it on a rail seems like it would be a hell of a lot different. On a round rail u have to be balanced the second u get onto it
helps a lot!!thanks TOM!big fan from 🇨🇳
The blessings keep comin'! 🔑✨🐐
17:52 That genuine fear of lipslides- very relatable
always feels sketch lol THANKS for watching
You may not be the best nosegrinder in the world but you’re definitely one of them. And that’s why we all watch your videos. Thank you for what you doing 💯
Such great content Tom!
Man. When I was a kid I would’ve been amazed by this: one of the best pros in the world teaching you legit, practical tips right on your phone.
For some reason I never learned feebles growing up, I don’t know why I neglected them. I guess it’s because The Incline Club skatepark (bike oriented) I was always at only had down-rails, I didn’t get many chances to skate flatbars, so I learned most tricks on down-rails. Feebles scared me in that context. Parks back in the early 2000s, in my area, were few and far between and mostly sucked. The parks today are so sick.
Thank you Tom for all your advices!
So much great advice!!! Great video Tom.
One of my favorite local parks for sure, so sick!
Another banger....and you're welcome sir love the content and keeps me stoked to skate watching u
Have you ever done a backside 360 trick tip? I've always been fascinated by how yours looks so different than most people's at the highest point of the ollie.
Awesome vid bruh. Thank you 🙏🏻
Love this video, I’ve always had a hard time doing both feeble and smith grinds. This video motivated me to go to the local park and finally put some effort into learning them.
I enjoy watching your videos Mr. Asta!!! I dig your way of sharing your content!

Massive knowledge from the one Tom Asta!! Booyakasha!! Yeah, this type of content in the 90's would've made skating progress SO much faster back then. It's definitely helping it progress now, as we can all see daily. Thanks, Tom!! Glad U realized what an amazing tutorial and educational type of space UA-cam can be when utilized correctly. You're helping a LOT of people. Us old guys included. And our kids!! Lol.
that makes me happy ! hope i can help its been a fun time on this YT journey so far! i appreciate you watching my vids, THANKS !
It's interesting how your back arm reaches back on front smith to really lock your shoulders in place. Almost like a rutter steering a boat.
Tom you are one of the greatest and thank u for Helping us to get better ❤
hope i can help! THANKS for watching i appreciate that !
Awesome content, thanks!!!!! It would be super super cool to get a close-up of what the trucks look like on the bar. Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!
I wonder what the skateboarding would be like if every Pro andn every Legend posted videos like yours(????), there wouldl be so many more radical skaters out there....

These are awesome lessons Tom! Big up 🙌
Ayy thank you I prefer round bars also... And you should always throw in a gnarly trick at the end of your video it hypes me up so much. That fakie front krook to fr feeble was so sick. Gracias!! ❤
THANKS !
Love your videos my guy. Keep doing you!
THANK YOU !
Do you use stretches to warm up before you skate? What's your routine before you step on the board? I'm not much older than you and I have to stretch before I skate, but I do the bare minimum. I want to know your routine if you've got one.
i could do more stretching for sure..maybe ill put a vid out about that as well..but i take about 5-10 mins to stretch and loosen up before i actually step on the board. id have to make a vid cause i dont really know the names of stretches im doing lol THANKS for watching !
@@tomasta please do😊
killing it with the content🔥
Man, this is the first vid i've seen of yours. But this is incredible information. As someone who's been skating a long time, i understood everything you said so easily. Now i'm hyped for a flat bar sesh. Thanks for this dude. Front crooks on ledges would be a good one to do! I've got them fakie, but can't do them regular to save my life.
been getting a lot of fs crook requests so ill dive into that one soon! THANKS !
It's so crazy how you make it look so easy.. unreal balance!! You are a beast!!
THANK YOU !
Yes been waiting for this one! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Tom😎
Clearly the best proskater youtube channel so far ! ❤
Cheers from France Tom !

Subscribed! Thanks for this info, Im going to skate a sesh on the flatbar tomorrow! Do a video on kickflips also 😁🙏🏻
I don’t know if you have done it already but a Bluntslide and Nose Bluntslide (Bs and Fs) ledge trick tip video would be great, those are really difficult tricks
i havent! but im gonna get to those for sure! THANKS for watching !
love that flat bar! Good stuff 🔥
Youre soo good at explaining tricks man. I wish to have this fluency when I start up my youtube skating channel. Youre gonna hit 100k this year man I know it
Hey Tom, update on my slappys, locking in super good now and making them Hella consistent now, keep them videos comin homie
Feeble one really will help me, thanks !!
hope so! good luck man and THANKS for watching !
thanks for the advices
Didn't want to open the can of worms on the fs overcrook hahaha - respect.
🤣🤣🤣
I needed this so bad. 38 abandoned impact for the most part and grew up with small town parks and the the big square rails. But they just built a new park with only round and I know in heart I could do feebs and smiths and 50 variations if I'd just quit being scared of the roundness. I can Smith ledges and feeb blocks and I've felt the cool roll over lock-in round rails provide cause I can front willy 😅 well on them at the new park surprisingly. But man I'm hoping these tips will help me with the confidence. Again I can Smith or 50 to front broad square rails but round is sketchy. (Edit: oh and boardslides on round have been no issue.)
you are so helpfull for me, thanks my man! now i shred flatbars till i able to to this all haha
Thank you very much for sharing so much helpful information. 9:52
u give the best skate content fo real though thanks man
excelente Tom saludos desde uruguay 🇺🇾
