The 3.7 cyclone is a good v6 like the guy said in the beginning, it has more power than a 2V. It's a solid car. 305 hp is definitely enough for the average person.
Another thing to really consider when it comes to being fair is price. Usually the base v8 will run you the equal of the premium v6. This means you will have hp over leather. For some the better interior is worth more and 305 hp is pretty good for somebody not trying to race.

The 2011+ V6 is a performance bargain. It was 300+ HP car, that could get 30 MPG on the highway, weighed around 3400 pounds, didn't kill you on insurance, was attainable, and has a good aftermarket. 0-60 in the mid 5 second range, There's a lot to like.
Theres actually a good amount of aftermarket for the 3.7. Big community on it being that i own both and have modded both the Yote and the Cyclone. Both great cars for different reasons.
Now dont sleep on the v6 I have a coyote but I've seen some 6r80 3.7s be really quick especially FBO with 4.10's and the V6's are pretty cheap. With boost they easily are in the 400's. Not coyote numbers but still not bad
I believe the biggest flaw with these v6s (and the newer ecoboosts) is the fact that they are mustangs. If they didnt have to constantly get compared to the coyote variants, they would stand out a very popular tuner car. Take away the mustang badge, and its literally Americas answer to the 350z or g35. Rear wheel drive, available in manual, with NA 300+hp v6, and easily modded to make bigger power. people would be lining up to tune and drift these if they just weren't marketed as neutered muscle cars.
I used to not care v6 pony cars but after lots of research they have grown on me. The can modded to be surprisingly fast & sound good. My favorite exhaust that I heard for the cyclone mustang is BBk shortie headers, custom h pipe, and Roush axle backs. It’s sound amazing
I got a 2013 3.7 back in 2017 and didn't mind it, then about a year later i kinda started to regret it. Fast forward to now i don't regret it one bit, I've put a lot of time and love into it and its so fun to drive now,... plan on getting a 10r80 5.0 in 2024
The v6 doesn’t seem too bad for speed. Before my grandpa got his 12’ 5.0 he had an 01 cobra and those stock had 320hp crank. The cobra was fun and I like his coyote a lot too.
I own both a 3.7 2014 mustang and a 2015 5.0. I’m actually working on a video about going from a V6 to GT. But honestly, there is nothing wrong with getting a 3.7, I made so many videos on my channel of me gapping people in it and it was so much fun to drive. The GT is fun too but it’s two different types of fun. But if you’re going to get a V6, get a 2011+ 3.7 mustang. Plus you can boost it with stock internals. 450-480whp is easy to achieve
Make a video of the v6 engine idle and record the engine! I would love to know how a healthy v6 engine sounds like and what to expect inside the engine bay
If you're looking for great sound at an affordable price, start out with an Sn95 or a 05-09 S197 GT. Super affordable cars and very reliable if you take care of them, my first car was an 07 GT!

I wish mine had the touch screen tho edit: you can definitely make the V6 fast. It’s in my opinon an even better platform for modding. You’re gonna have to work way more to make it fast which is project car material
Horsepower isnt everything. Its only 300 or so crank power. Horsepower To the wheels im guessing is more so 240 250 or something maybe more maybe less. Not super slow but not fast either cause its a heavy car
There’s a place for a V6, daily driver, intro car, budget or whatever the case may be. But for me, V8 all day every day. Because maybe I’m old school. but you can’t replace that V8 sound and feeling. You can get an older GT for the same as a newer V6. The insurance isn’t much different, if I want a daily I’ll get a Fusion or something that is at least better on insurance and can go in the snow better. I have never bought anything that wasn’t a V8. Thunderbird, Mustang, Ram 1500, F-150 have all been V8s. If I CAN get a V8 option in a car I’m gonna go V8 every time.
I've had my 2012 v6 for going on 7years. It's my favorite vehicle to drive daily still. Decent on gas and zippy around town. At 6'3 i sit comfortably, no leg room to sit behind at all though.
I have a 2010 4.0 V6 it looks just like the 2011-2012 tho and it sucks having only 210 hp compared to the 2011 305 HP but the 4.0 is really reliable it was also on the ranger and explorer sport trac
well, tbh man i say it comes down to your budget too which is something you forgot to mention. Personally I LOVE THE V6 Mustangs which is why I'm going to buy one this coming summer stay tune!!
I have a V6, but it’s because it’s my first car. It was the choice between a V6 14, or a Civic. I’d rather be in the V6 because I just love mustangs. However, your first car shouldn’t make you broke, and that’s what it comes down to, at least for me, in the choice between V6 and GT.
I got my 2014 3.7/ mt82 in January 2022 as my first car and have been modding it a little and using it as a track car. I love it and getting it ready for boost one day
That's the first time I've ever heard a Mustang compared to a Camry or a Honda. A lot of people sleep on the 3.7. I want a 95 GT droptop in manual or a 2011+ V6 convertible in manual convertible, which I cannot seem to find. Also, for some strange reason, sunroofs only come with the GT. I don't understand why. As much as I miss my sunroof, it's time for a vert. The 3.7 V6 being able to achieve 30+ mpg's is what has me sold on it.
I bought a used 2014 Ford Mustang V6 convertible, with a six speed manual transmission I had it now for 4 years,And have never regretted it, i’m also running some really good tires on it fire stone Indianapolis 500 fire hawks tires, these are amazing tires
V6 are very underrated if you build it right you get more miles per gallon and faster than the average V8 NOTE if done right I saw recently a V6 pushing 550 hp to the wheel
I’ve had my fun with v8 cars. 5.7 challenger, 2011 5.0 mustang, 4.6 mustang. Now I just care about looks/ styling of the car. The v6 is my go to now. S550 in particular!
3.7America yeah it’s sad the credit these cyclones get. One of the most underrated cars. For a little bit of money u can out perform a stock 5.0 and have cheaper insurance rates and bragging rights u beat a v8!
I have 2012 manual V6 Mustang the manual V6 has the same manual transmission as the V8. I’ve put over 50,000 miles on my car and I drive the hell out of it and has been pretty reliable no major issues I basically bought it because I couldn’t afford a GT but wanted something fun to drive and yes with full exhaust/ cat delete headers, intake and tune and you can beat 2V and 3V all day long once I can afford one I am going to upgrade to a coyote in the next couple of years
I own both a 13 v6 premium 6 speed and a 14 gt premium 6 speed and the the v6 is a pretty fun car for what it is but i gotta say the 5.0 with an exhaust sounds amazing and the 5.0 engine will keep pulling even at freeway speeds while the v6 is only quick in a low gear at slower speeds. My v6 is tuned and I hit 140mph and it sounded like it was going to fall apart while the gt stock did 140mph and it felt smooth af and felt like it had plenty of mph left.
I drive a 2017 Procharged V6, making 440-450rwhp. At the time of purchase, I had a choice. Grabber Blue GT or the V6 I have now. I made plenty of money to get the 5.0. But still chose the V6. Got her brand new, base as f@ck…. I got and installed all premium goodies, enabled line lock, drive modes and slapped a ProCharger on her. Along with all the upgraded suspension components, including GT350R swaybars, this car is pretty damn fun. It recently spun a bearing. Instead of going the average consumer’s route and just trading it in for that 5.0, I am swapping in new 3.7 (V6) engine. Love this car. I make plenty more money than I did 5 years ago. This car is fun, quick, easy as hell to maintain and work on myself. Hell. I’m doing my own engine swap. I’ll be keeping her for a long time and riding it out. 🐌💨💨💨💨💨💨💨 I’m 48 btw.
I got my 2014 v6 mustang back in 2015 as a 20 year old. I didn’t have any help with parent’s money and I couldn’t afford the 5.0 option at the time, so I got my v6. That being said it’s been fun while I’ve had it but I do plan on getting a 5.0 after my deployment.
I have a 2013 v6 as a daily and I have made it into a completely different car. BBK headers, BBK xpipe, and roush axle back made it sound AMAZING! Now everyone in my mustang club (even the 5.0 owners) love the sound of my car! There really is nothing wrong with a v6... especially if you are like me starting out and you cant afford the GT or the insurance and extra gas. Definitley a great starting point tho.
Back in 2008 my brother's and I shared a red 98 Mustang Gt. I personally owned a red 08 Lancer the front of the 2013 Mustang looks exactly like the 08 or later Lancer. Now I own a 2013 red Mustang I feel like it's a mix between the Lancer and the Mustang. It's awesome.
I use to daily a cyclone then gave it to my sister. I’ve driven a 8th gen maxima since then but now that my wife wants my maxima I’m looking into finally getting a GT! Hopefully I’ll find something soon!
look l have 2013 V6 only what l did was cold air intake a deleted limited max speed....from 0 to 60 l beat stock V8 every time....it is faster than V8 till 60 after that l have no chance....but it is funny how them guys always look that l beat them with that....but l would def go to V8 just for that sound.....you cant beat that with V6.....
Some people forget that you can turn those Cyclones into "tune and a cold air intake" GT killers, all it needs is a procharger, and that's the same price as a GT of the same year. Faster, lighter, more power, less cylinders. But I prefer the Ecoboost
So I’ve been looking to buy a mustang for my birthday that’s coming up in a few months so I’m saving up for a down payment. Now with the way I drive and the gas prices right now that are barely going down, the v6 would be a better option for me because my 4 banger Tacoma just isn’t the most exciting thing on the road. 159hp on a pickup just doesn’t cut it for me and 300hp from a v6 mustang is perfect for me. Besides I have a 96 chevy pickup that I’m going to supercharge later on. But I’ve always wanted a mustang ever since my uncle use to drive an 03 red mustang. The V6 would be like the perfect daily driver/weekend driver.
I’m only 19 I’m looking to get a mustang to start out because I’m just now getting into cars. I think I’m going to start with a v6 and if I like it I’ll trade up.
Yes! Make sure you get the 12-17 3.7 V6 if you do. It's way faster with 305 horsepower with regular gas, and 312 with 93/premium gas without a tune. Give her a good tune and you'll be at 320-330. A full exhaust setup will also help a good bit. Your insurance is going to be high, so the v6 is your best bet. I bought the car and it's in my name, but I had my dad cosign. For insursnce, we put him as the "primary" driver and me as a "secondary" driver and insurance dropped to about $170 a month full coverage with Allstate. I have a 2013 3.7. It's a fantastic car, has a very muscle car feel to it and is comfortable. If you want better suspension and comfort though, go with the 15-17 models. The interior is way better on these newer cars. If you have any questions or need any advice on them just ask away! You can message here or on my ig @caleb_ina_cyclone.
Honestly bro I’ve never had a car with any kind of power. I just want something newer that looks badass and maybe I can make it sound good but I wanna get use to having a mustang first before I get a V8
I got that same v6 mustang, same color, only difference was I didn't have the touch screen. So far I've got new wheels, (19-in black) some magna flow axle backs, and I swapped out that ugly grill. I plan on getting that touch screen next
I’m looking at buying a v6 after driving a v8 truck and I really just want a car that has a sporty look with decent gas mileage and can pull it’s own weight
I was looking for a drift car and was looking at 350z’s. They make less than 300hp and weight about the same as the mustang. I looked at a few and they were wanting a lot just for a 06. Then I found a v6 mustang with 305hp and the same weight for about the same price. And it was a 6 speed manual also. The biggest difference between the 350z and the mustang was the 350 was a 06 and the mustang was a 2012 and super clean and premium interior. The v6 6 speed has plenty of power and torque to get sideways. I wasn’t even looking for a mustang but I thought this was a no brainer.
Don't hate on the v6 I seen many 3.7 Cyclones beat 5.0 they are cheaper to mod out to beat your 5.0 not problem you pay double to gain any horsepower in a 5.0 the 3.7 supercharged is where it is at
8:37 When someone who has a 700 HP car says he was surprised that at a V6 and he didn't expect it to be that fast that's a good sign, and it's an automatic too. I dunno am I wrong? It feels like to me automatic transmissions just put a huge handicap on performance even on the same car. I test drove a 5.0 HEMI Challenger along with the 2014 V6 Mustang and the Mustang seemed faster because of the manual transmission. The Challenger was an automatic and it didn't feel as strong. Did not feel anywhere near the power even though I know because it's a 5.0 HEMI it HAS to have a lot more HP than the V6.
Have both like me 😉. Track my 12 5.0 and daily my 14 3.7. Both manual of course. My 3.7 has been the most fun and bang for the buck ever! With gears and a tune it’s faster than my previous 07 3v. I never knew how rowdy a 6 could be til I bought my 3.7. If had had to have only one of course the 5.0 or better( GT350,GT500) is the way to go, but don’t sleep on the modded cyclone!
I have the exact same v6. Put some respect on it's name. They have the exact same horsepower as the previous years 3 valve 4.6 which is more hp than you're old 2 valve by the way 👀
Doesn’t matter bro them v6s are way faster I e had two 2valved my last 1 was fbo headers everything I was barley beating them ..... my stomach 2valve got smoked everytime
I have v6 and I fucking love it. It’s faster than the previous generations (05-09, plus 2010) gt’s and it has good cheap power. You can still mod it to go faster and even engine swap it. They still look good and it’s a very fun daily
Ya I'm looking at the v6 or v8. Im looking for my first stick car. I have a 06 GT now but look at a stick and some fun. But what it comes down to now is price. If I can get a good price on the GT I will but the v6 is more affordable.
Love you guys % thank you for your support

your v8 will put out 420 to the crank so in reality 360-370 lol

ima put a twin turbo in my v6 then we can see which is faster
I got the V6 since I wanted the car mostly for the interior design and the body looks, not necessarily to go fast. Just a daily driver.

Have a 2014 v6 in silver. It is great but I passed it down to the bro and currently trying to decide between a ‘13 5.0 or Terminator.
Damn two of my favorites right there but imo I’d say the 2013 5.0
on a sealed 3.7, you can get up to 500-600(if done right) whp
I’ve had my fun with v8 cars. 5.7 challenger, 2011 5.0 mustang, 4.6 mustang.
Now I just care about looks/ styling of the car. The v6 is my go to now. S550 in particular!
I Have a 2013 Auto 3.7 Mustang Mods,MPT Tuned, Ported Intake, No Cats!
You obviously replaced the stock drive shaft right?
🐌💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
I’m 48 btw.
I have v6. 310 k mi. 2012. Still 29 mpg.
Do you have any videos
So, it's basically a Ricestang. Bud, they don't sound good at all. Best to go for the V8 and I have a 2013 5.0.
@@rickitysplitz7035 thanks for assuming it’s riced out… people that own Shelby’s still like my car.
@@nominousnomi I’m not sure how to upload them
@@robbieowens1012 if you have Reddit there’s a good page for mustangs, could post as shorts on here or maybe Instagram
You should do a comparison between 3v Mustang GTs and coyote era V6 Mustangs if it becomes available to you some day
Back in 2008 my brother's and I shared a red 98 Mustang Gt.
My 2012 v6 now has 71k on it. It’s my daily and road tripper. I lov it. Cheap pony fun. 😊
Love you showing love the v6
Hey the v6 has come along way. 50 more hp than my 04 gt. Now that I think about it my 20gt makes 200 more.... Man these cars have come along way
look l have 2013 V6 only what l did was cold air intake a deleted limited max speed....from 0 to 60 l beat stock V8 every time....it is faster than V8 till 60 after that l have no chance....but it is funny how them guys always look that l beat them with that....but l would def go to V8 just for that sound.....you cant beat that with V6.....
Some people forget that you can turn those Cyclones into "tune and a cold air intake" GT killers, all it needs is a procharger, and that's the same price as a GT of the same year. Faster, lighter, more power, less cylinders. But I prefer the Ecoboost
What’s the Difference in gas cost, insurance rates, depreciation, maintenance and repair expenses?
Funny how in 97 the Cobra was the top dog and had 305HP and here the v6 has the same amount.
I own a black on black 14 v6 now, Hopefully I'll get a grabber blue s550 gt next year🤛✊.
Bro I want a race red 2014 mustang. Looks so better than a s550
Honestly bro I’ve never had a car with any kind of power. I just want something newer that looks badass and maybe I can make it sound good but I wanna get use to having a mustang first before I get a V8
For me it’s been 3v or 3.7 and I’m going to look at a cyclone tonight
I'm buying a v6 convertible. one but saving up for a v8 swap I can put in storage or swap a 2jz gte in it.
I always make sure to watch the vids. I liked the New Edge V6 v V8 too and got excited seeing this in the notifications.
Tempted to see if my girls lil v6 can rip😂
They should get the roush axle back exhaust for the V6 👌
Agreed completely changes the car
I got that same v6 mustang, same color, only difference was I didn't have the touch screen. So far I've got new wheels, (19-in black) some magna flow axle backs, and I swapped out that ugly grill. I plan on getting that touch screen next
I’m looking at buying a v6 after driving a v8 truck and I really just want a car that has a sporty look with decent gas mileage and can pull it’s own weight
Hit up @callmematt and review his pony @derekbaranproductions
Those 3.7 motors are good and with a little boost will hurt a lot of coyote feelings.
Im probably gonna get a v6 till i can afford gas and insurance on a v8
You know what is crazy, my 98 Cobra came with 305 hp at the crank from the factory and that was big time back then... now a V6 has that power 🤦♂️
2003 Sonic Cobra Terminator hey man I see you have a 2v in you profile picture! I’m building a nitrous 2v on my channel if you want to check it out!
Intro was gold 🥇🪙
I have a 600rhwp 3.7L mustang if you’d like to do a review sometime!
You got instagram?
BirdiePvP @sosa_s197
I cant wait til you blow up bro. I wanna see you get where you want. But frfr you gotta link with other tubers!! That's where you can grow easily.
Just want a fun car for daily driver. The v6 manual stock car is a good price point. Don’t need another project.
im looking at a 2011 v6 i cant find a 5.0 and i want something that looks nice and i can make some power with and maybe swap a 5.0 or buy one
I have the exact same v6. Put some respect on it's name. They have the exact same horsepower as the previous years 3 valve 4.6 which is more hp than you're old 2 valve by the way 👀
But it's heavier
Doesn’t matter bro them v6s are way faster I e had two 2valved my last 1 was fbo headers everything I was barley beating them ..... my stomach 2valve got smoked everytime
the 3.8l in the new edge is the deepest sounding v6. they have a lot of base for some reason
Rory Hayes hey man I see you have a 2v in you profile picture! I’m building a nitrous 2v on my channel if you want to check it out!
I have v6 and I fucking love it. It’s faster than the previous generations (05-09, plus 2010) gt’s and it has good cheap power. You can still mod it to go faster and even engine swap it. They still look good and it’s a very fun daily
Nice one bro keep up the great work bro
I have an 08 v6 i love it drives smooth.
It gt for me, love everything about them
Ya I'm looking at the v6 or v8. Im looking for my first stick car. I have a 06 GT now but look at a stick and some fun. But what it comes down to now is price. If I can get a good price on the GT I will but the v6 is more affordable.
I almost got a gotta have it green 6 like you said more power more better
