I had fine today for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. I made it in a blender with almond milk and a banana with a handful of ice. I don’t know if making it in the blender made the difference but it was excellent very smooth and I feel totally full I don’t have a stomach ache. I am using it as a meal replacement in order to stay high in protein with moderate carbs. It’s definitely healthier than grabbing something in the kitchen when you don’t have time to cook that isn’t that great when it comes to nutritional value. Also the chocolate peanut butter flavor is not overwhelmingly strong at all so don’t think you’re going to get overwhelmed by the flavor it’s really good.
luna113177 Take as I discuss as a post-workout supplement. Aside from that, protein intake alone can only do so much in terms of those specific goals. Keeping all of your meals clean and low-sugar and unprocessed will help, and then training to target those trouble areas. The protein will help repair and build the muscle after your workout. Clean eating will help with the belly fat and weigh. And yes, you can add to a superfood powder.
I'm considering using the orgain chocolate fudge for like baking healthier options at cookies, pancakes, DIY protein bars and even making smoothies and overnight oats. Would you say that okay to use that for those reasons. I feel like protein bars are overpriced and so are those freezer aisle pancakes etc.
Angela Bellissimo Yes, they are. I’ve used Orgain for no-bake protein bars and pancakes before and it’s been fine. It’s great for overnight oats and smoothies! I’m not entirely sure how heat like baking affects its nutrients, and I haven’t tried it in brownies or anything. Although baking with any protein powder is hard to get the right consistency. If you try it let me know how it goes!

Just watch how much banana and PB you put in since both are high calorie foods, since you’re trying to lose weight. Exact amount depends on your calorie needs, but about half a banana and 1 tbsp PB May be a safe bet

I would not advise this shake alone for breakfast as it is less than 200 calories. For breakfast it would be better blended with foods like milk or juice, fruits, oats, MCT oil, etc to increase calories. Especially if you plan to fast you should be eating a large breakfast.

valentiina quiintaniila This doesn’t have any specific ingredients geared toward that, but if you add ingredients like chia seeds or coconut oil or peanut butter it may help. Those fats will slow down the absorption and keep you satisfied longer

Melvin Reyes yes, you can use it in those ways. It’s not guaranteed to make you lose weight - you’ll have to track your calories to ensure you’re not over eating to do that

That’s fine. However, I would recommend that if your goal is to lose weight you definitely start doing some weights. That is easiest and fastest way to lose weight in conjunction with cardio

Hello I’m age 16, 115 pound and I bought the organic Protein powder French vanilla plant based. For the past 5 months I’ve been doing in home workouts like 170 squats and 70 pushup and 2 min plank. I typically don’t eat in the morning during my workout. Since I’m not hungry. I typically eat in the afternoon around 6 pm. So now that i bought the shake and I blend it with 1 cup of almond milk unsweetened with cucumber a slice of banana and spinach. It taste really good after a workout. I wait like 30 min or so than drink it. I have muscle mass in my thigh, Calves and biceps and triceps and some pecks now, Also my stomach is flat 2. Is this a good idea to drink after a workout and is it sufficiently helping my muscle relax or maintain muscle mass? When I drink it after the workout. PHILLIP TV What you’re sing for your shake sounds good. Pea protein absorbs as well as whey protein, rice a little less. If you start doing more weights in the future you may want to incorporate some whey protein, but it’s not crucial for building muscle mass. You may also need to add a little extra powder to your shakes. Your workout isn’t exactly light because it’s high rep, but since you’re not working your full body, it also doesn’t sound super intense. Try to start incorporating some pull ups or get bands or dumbbells to do back rows to balance out all of the push ups/chest work. Also try adding in some lunges or other lower body exercises for variety so you hit more muscle groups. But for now at your age and weight and activity level this shake should be fine

I just got the oregain protein powder. It says you can mix with water as well. Ive tried it today, not sure how i am feeling everyone says it good but i dont think it is as good as everyone says it is.
I always think protein powders taste better with milk or juice. Try that next time. It may also be the plant based flavor that can take a little getting used to. The proportion of water to liquid changes the taste too. Too much liquid and it tastes very bland. Try experimenting with ingredients and ratios.
Only if you’re taking in too many calories. Protein helps to keep you full so you don’t feel the need to eat as much or as often. It’s a great way to help maintain weight but you need to make sure your calories aren’t too high overall
I got so slim my family thought I had a eating disorder lost 30 pounds since last September. I drink 21 grams of in the morning for breakfast or I mix it with oatmeal which has 7 grams of protein. For lunch I eat a regular meal. Than 30 min before gym I take 30 grams of protein. After the gym I like to get my protein from my dinner. Without doing cardio I’m very slim
2 scoops at once would probably not taste good unless you have a very large cup of coffee. But yes, I have added these to coffee, maybe 1/2-1 scoop at a time. Usually you will need to blend it together with a shaker cup, whisk or blender though because most powders don’t mix too well in water/coffee with just a spoon. Collagen protein powder tends to work well though, like the Keto Collagen Protein or Collagen Peptides
This is hard to answer without knowing the rest of your diet, lifestyle, health and goals. Once a day should be safe, but whenever you can, choose real food over supplements

Tashla L You can do that, although I would recommend more whole foods over shakes. Like one per day, but you could do two if absolutely needed and are having trouble getting in protein otherwise. But I can’t really say if it would help you lose weight without knowing what else you’re eating. Your diet otherwise needs to be really clean and natural foods, and not eating more calories than you’re burning off. New subscriber! :) I’m trying to grow my glutes and planning to add vegan/organic protein powder on my diet. Can I still see results if I only drink protein shake during post work out and not during my rest days? 😅
Yes you can. But still make sure to get enough protein on your rest days. Your carbs can be less but protein should be about the same day to day. If you want vegan you can also try Naked Pea protein or doTERRA vegan protein. Although I still love Orgain. 🙂
Eliza, I do both, just depends on my mood or how may calories I want. I often add chia seeds, or lately I've been doing mushroom powder for all of their benefits, or sometimes I'll blend with a peanut butter powder, flaxseed, maybe some banana. For a quick post-workout, I usually just do milk, water, and maybe chia seeds. All depends on how filling you want it to be. The less you put in, though, the faster it will digest, which is ideal for post-workout recovery/muscle-building.

Ok, so I'm trying to lose weight so I'm new to all of this. I have the protein inspired organic protein and I'm in a low carb diet. Is this good for my diet and is it ok do use it to eat it for Breakfast. I do 30 mins of exercise a day but its only 10 mins cardio and 20 mins of cycling so do I have to drink this after the workout instead?
Jamie S This is fine before or after since you’re not doing major weight lifting. It has some carbs so it will give you a little energy before your workout but it will also help refuel you after. But I wouldn’t do it alone as breakfast - blend with berries or oats, or add something like MCT oil or nut butter if you want lower carb . The protein alone is too low of calories for a full meal.
If I’m trying to lose weight drinking this should i drink pre workout or after i normally do cardio and some weight training and how many times a day or week should i drink this ?
Personal opinion: I don’t think it tastes very good with water but it’s doable. Try almond milk and a shaker bottle. It’s absolutely delicious if you blend in blender w almond milk banana and dates.

Only if I follow a recipe that is specifically for vegan protein. I usually stick to whey since I know how it responds. Sorry I can't help more with that.
I love the premixed orgain but the powder is so gritty I gag. I've tried it in water in a shaker, blended in water and even blended with hot coffee and it's always the same.
nazerah08 Probably not. Likely you just have a preference for a lighter flavor. One other brand I like is Tera’s Whey, which has a very subtle flavor. Can be found at most health food stores or on Amazon
You never have to do a protein shake, but it’s one of the fastest ways to deliver protein to the body for muscle repair. Many bars include fiber and have more fat, which will slow down digestion. Most bars also have a lot of additives. Simple protein powders tend to be healthier and easier to digest (but not all). I wouldn’t use bars every day, but once in a while is fine.

Qing Hunt Personally Orgain doesn’t bother me. You might also try something like Naked Pea or Naked Rice. They’re just one ingredient and vegan so less likely to both you. Plain Collagen proteins work well for me as well.

Qing Hunt It’s all about how you use the powder. There’s nothing magical about protein powder that keeps you lean, but these ones are good because they’re low calorie and lower carb, so you’re getting more protein which is important for building and sustaining muscle, and the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism. The protein also helps keep you full. If you keep your shake low calorie, and watch your calories/portions at all other meals, then this will help keep you on track. No, it won't. 17 grams is not much, unless you're competing in a fitness competition or on a keto diet or something. That's also why I mention that I like it as a post-workout shake, because your body can best use carbs at that time to repair muscle. While 17 carbs won't make any major difference, if you're concerned you can always subtract that same amount from another meal...like a spoonful of rice or a rice cake or 2 less bites of potato.
lin da Any protein will help with building muscle, so yes in that sense. I like Orgain Keto for days you don’t need as many carbs or protein, like recovery days or when you don’t workout as hard. It’s also good to add into coffee for some fat + protein 😁
Interesting. It’s my favorite flavor of any brand I’ve ever tried, and many of my clients have said the same. But everyone’s taste preferences are different 🤷🏼♀️
There’s no easy fix except monitoring your salt intake from your other foods. Depending on how hard you workout the salt can be really good for some people. But keeping it low on other areas and making sure to drink plenty of water are the main ways to keep total sodium under control

Rashan Sankofa if you want to lose weight I’d suggest using it as a meal replacement, not with a meal. If you just mix it with water or milk it could be a midday snack replacement since it’s not high calorie. Alone it’s too little for a meal.
i’m doing just that .. i’m mixing it and making like a protein coffee with 1 scoop of Orgain.. i have vanilla flavour n i add little more vanilla essence and 1-2 spoons of cane sugar for some taste .. but that’s the only bfast i have .. i don’t eat anything else n i’m satiated till lunch..i seem to be losing weight. Protein coffee is one great idea truly! .. try chocolate fudge maybe even better for taste ..

Whole, natural, organic foods are best because they’re filling and your body knows how to process and use them so it’s easier to lose weight with them and healthier long term. Gianni Andrea It kind of depends on your goal. If you’re truly trying to detox, then you probably don’t want to be eating much besides fruits, veggies and maybe lean meats. But there’s no harm in drinking detox teas as part of a daily health routine. That being said, I don’t believe much in detox drinks, aside from maybe something to drink when you’re fasting right eating very limited foods to give your body a break from digesting food.
That really all depends on the person since all of our bodies are different. I actually rarely use whey anymore because of digestive issues, which many people have. In theory the vegan options shouldn’t really have negative side effects and I don’t have any, but again, all depends on your body chemistry

You can use this. Just don’t rely on it too heavily. Make sure you also get lots of fruits, vegetables and real food protein like fish and organic chicken to help with your growth as well as weight maintenance

Melissa Vizcaino the best time is right after a weight training session. Otherwise it doesn't matter what time you drink it, just depends on your preference. Night time may work well if you want a smaller meal at the end of the day.

Brian Camacho Hemp and cannabis come from the same plant but different parts. They’re not the same thing. Hemp protein is a very common vegan protein, but it’s not going to have any effects like cannabis.

TBH I love health smoothies and protein shakes. I have ever since I was a baby and always prefered them over McDonald's milkshakes and stuff

I wait like 30 min or so than drink it. I have muscle mass in my thigh, Calves and biceps and triceps and some pecks now, Also my stomach is flat 2. Is this a good idea to drink after a workout and is it sufficiently helping my muscle relax or maintain muscle mass? When I drink it after the workout. PHILLIP TV What you’re sing for your shake sounds good. Pea protein absorbs as well as whey protein, rice a little less. If you start doing more weights in the future you may want to incorporate some whey protein, but it’s not crucial for building muscle mass. You may also need to add a little extra powder to your shakes. Your workout isn’t exactly light because it’s high rep, but since you’re not working your full body, it also doesn’t sound super intense. Try to start incorporating some pull ups or get bands or dumbbells to do back rows to balance out all of the push ups/chest work. Also try adding in some lunges or other lower body exercises for variety so you hit more muscle groups. But for now at your age and weight and activity level this shake should be fine

I just got the oregain protein powder. It says you can mix with water as well. Ive tried it today, not sure how i am feeling everyone says it good but i dont think it is as good as everyone says it is.
I always think protein powders taste better with milk or juice. Try that next time. It may also be the plant based flavor that can take a little getting used to. The proportion of water to liquid changes the taste too. Too much liquid and it tastes very bland. Try experimenting with ingredients and ratios.

Only if you’re taking in too many calories. Protein helps to keep you full so you don’t feel the need to eat as much or as often. It’s a great way to help maintain weight but you need to make sure your calories aren’t too high overall
I got so slim my family thought I had a eating disorder lost 30 pounds since last September. I drink 21 grams of in the morning for breakfast or I mix it with oatmeal which has 7 grams of protein. 2 scoops at once would probably not taste good unless you have a very large cup of coffee. But yes, I have added these to coffee, maybe 1/2-1 scoop at a time. Usually you will need to blend it together with a shaker cup, whisk or blender though because most powders don’t mix too well in water/coffee with just a spoon. Collagen protein powder tends to work well though, like the Keto Collagen Protein or Collagen Peptides

This is hard to answer without knowing the rest of your diet, lifestyle, health and goals. Once a day should be safe, but whenever you can, choose real food over supplements

Tashla L You can do that, although I would recommend more whole foods over shakes. Like one per day, but you could do two if absolutely needed and are having trouble getting in protein otherwise. But I can’t really say if it would help you lose weight without knowing what else you’re eating. Your diet otherwise needs to be really clean and natural foods, and not eating more calories than you’re burning off. Yes you can. But still make sure to get enough protein on your rest days. Your carbs can be less but protein should be about the same day to day. If you want vegan you can also try Naked Pea protein or doTERRA vegan protein. Although I still love Orgain. 🙂

Eliza, I do both, just depends on my mood or how may calories I want. I often add chia seeds, or lately I've been doing mushroom powder for all of their benefits, or sometimes I'll blend with a peanut butter powder, flaxseed, maybe some banana. For a quick post-workout, I usually just do milk, water, and maybe chia seeds. All depends on how filling you want it to be. The less you put in, though, the faster it will digest, which is ideal for post-workout recovery/muscle-building.

The key will be your overall diet. If Orgain helps you manage calories and get in more protein, and healthy food, then yes it can help

Ok, so I'm trying to lose weight so I'm new to all of this. I have the protein inspired organic protein and I'm in a low carb diet. Is this good for my diet and is it ok do use it to eat it for Breakfast. I do 30 mins of exercise a day but its only 10 mins cardio and 20 mins of cycling so do I have to drink this after the workout instead?
Jamie S This is fine before or after since you’re not doing major weight lifting. It has some carbs so it will give you a little energy before your workout but it will also help refuel you after. But I wouldn’t do it alone as breakfast - blend with berries or oats, or add something like MCT oil or nut butter if you want lower carb . The protein alone is too low of calories for a full meal.

Only if I follow a recipe that is specifically for vegan protein. I usually stick to whey since I know how it responds. Sorry I can't help more with that.
I love the premixed orgain but the powder is so gritty I gag. I've tried it in water in a shaker, blended in water and even blended with hot coffee and it's always the same.

You never have to do a protein shake, but it’s one of the fastest ways to deliver protein to the body for muscle repair. Many bars include fiber and have more fat, which will slow down digestion. Most bars also have a lot of additives. Simple protein powders tend to be healthier and easier to digest (but not all). I wouldn’t use bars every day, but once in a while is fine.

Qing Hunt Personally Orgain doesn’t bother me. You might also try something like Naked Pea or Naked Rice. They’re just one ingredient and vegan so less likely to both you. Plain Collagen proteins work well for me as well.

There’s nothing magical about protein powder that keeps you lean, but these ones are good because they’re low calorie and lower carb, so you’re getting more protein which is important for building and sustaining muscle, and the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism. The protein also helps keep you full. If you keep your shake low calorie, and watch your calories/portions at all other meals, then this will help keep you on track. I drink a protein drink every morning as a meal replacement. I use one scoop of protein powder. A scoop of ground flaxseed and a collagen powder. I don’t work out until the evening. I literally have not gained or lost any weight. Currently 156 at 5’3. What am o doing wrong?

No, it won't. 17 grams is not much, unless you're competing in a fitness competition or on a keto diet or something. That's also why I mention that I like it as a post-workout shake, because your body can best use carbs at that time to repair muscle. While 17 carbs won't make any major difference, if you're concerned you can always subtract that same amount from another meal...like a spoonful of rice or a rice cake or 2 less bites of potato.

There’s no easy fix except monitoring your salt intake from your other foods. Depending on how hard you workout the salt can be really good for some people. But keeping it low on other areas and making sure to drink plenty of water are the main ways to keep total sodium under control

Gianni Andrea It kind of depends on your goal. If you’re truly trying to detox, then you probably don’t want to be eating much besides fruits, veggies and maybe lean meats. But there’s no harm in drinking detox teas as part of a daily health routine. That being said, I don’t believe much in detox drinks, aside from maybe something to drink when you’re fasting right eating very limited foods to give your body a break from digesting food.

That really all depends on the person since all of our bodies are different. I actually rarely use whey anymore because of digestive issues, which many people have. In theory the vegan options shouldn’t really have negative side effects and I don’t have any, but again, all depends on your body chemistry
