    This guy is demonstrating a very good understanding of biomechanics in Aikijitsu. He has to be a genuine master of Aikijitsu. I have trained jujitsu, Brazilian jiujitsu, Muay Thai, judo, MMA and wrestling for over 40 years. Sure this is demonstrated against a non resisting opponent, but if you did this for real, it’s going to be permanent disabilities all round. It may well be that he couldn’t apply this in a real fight, but who cares it’s still fun to learn…..also when you train wrestling and judo you see how it can fit in too.

    Fascinating. To sensei salhuddin Muhammad, you are very correct in the explanations of how you show the details of how the wazas are executed, especially when they are used on different structured people and for that knowledge I have to say incredible teachings on what aiki really is, I commend you so much.

    Sensei does not want to tangle with the big at all , don't blame him. If that big guy bum rushed him and even bear hugged him and lifted him off the ground and slammed him to the ground. He would be in a world of hurt. Out of anger and adrenaline this would most likely not work. Sure he messes with him but the big guy is compliant. Piss him good look. Best defense is 45 ACP technique.

    Some thoughts, the concepts of unbalancing the BODY do work. As always it should be tested and not just theory. I will tell you that the movements do work, but of course your timing and judgement of distance must be exceptional. You can GET something to work, but it must always be done over and over again. The movement must be allowed to some extent to show the technique. There will always be an entry, a strike or kick. The kicks were taken out of aikido, but they are there. Eventually , these techniques will be worked full speed, however if you Don't know your breakfalls you will be injured. We all must keep an open mind, if 10% he gives works, its a win gentlemen.

      The issue with the aiki arts, much like with the Chinese Internal Martial Arts, is that you have to develop the connected, dantian driven body, that sources power from the ground and from gravity. Not many achieve that. If you do, you can develop something special, martially speaking. If not, you'd be better off doing Muay Thai and BJJ like everyone else. I've found pursuing the internal skills to be very rewarding, but when a newb asks me advice on what martial art to take up, I usually direct them to MMA, Muay Thai, BJJ, boxing, judo, etc. They're more likely to develop good skills in a shorter amount of time. Also, the Internal Martial Arts are kind of a zero sum game: If you don't "get it", you won't have much of use, whereas an average boxer can still employ his art to defend himself.

      "there we go again debating about religion."
      We didnt ever debate ! By the way you try to debate I just leved my comment here.
      "this vid should be all about martial art"
      Yes it SHOULD but obviously it isnt. Its the elephant in the room. When muslims show up their religion in such an agressiv way in public they cant complain about criticism. Also its full of hypocrisy. The women should cover her up but the muslim men see half naked women all around (in summer). If felleows like him would be serious they would go into am muslim country! This burka niqab shit is nothing more than agressiv advertising for radical islam. A misanthropic ideology that should be banned. Also it discriminates all women who dont cover them self!!! I dont know how do you want to know that she is wearing this disgusting sack on her own will but this would be even worse, and just show how brainwashed and stupid someone can get!

    • @oneandonly3037
      @oneandonly3037 7 років тому +2

      There are differing opinions among Muslims, as to the extent of a woman's covering in public. It amazes me (I don't know your religious affiliation) that this society, purportedly Christian, is engaged in a debate, on a woman dressing 1/2-naked in public, even in the summer. There was a time when such a woman, wearing underwear in public, would be fined, for indecent exposure
      Let's stop the nonsense. The heat of summer is not the reason, women here, dress as they do; it's much more about advertising their bodies to strange men. In fact, the entire, homosexual, clothing industry, is geared towards pushing the envelope, sort of speak, on standards of decency. And this is not in any way, a suggestion, that the burqa be imposed, even to Muslim women.
      If you read the article, The Bikini vs. The Buqa, written by a non-Muslims, I think you'll gain a greater appreciation of not only what I'm saying, but the impact on how women conduct themselves at home and abroad, on society in general.

    • @Gieszkanne
      @Gieszkanne 7 років тому +1

      OneandOnly
      I dont appreciate anything of what you are wrighting!
      You are just blowing smoke and avoid the criticism by try to direct the debate on western culture. That is alway the tactic of muslims! So are you?
      Burka an Niqab dont belong in western countrys. If they want to life that way fine but not here. Its an agressiv islamic thrust. One step to sharia law and islamisation. Discrimination of nonmuslims espacially women!

    Interesting, I wonder how this fairs with Brazillian Jiujitsu

    • @MonkeyHerder3
      @MonkeyHerder3 9 років тому

      Reuben Tapp I have always thought that would be an interesting one - Aikido is about evasion and keeping the other side off balance. And turning attacks against the attacker - but that only happens if they attack. If a BJJ practitioner managed to get them both to the floor, the Aiki has no chance, but if he slips up in trying to get them to the floor, he is going to get sore.

    • @PrivateEyeYiYi
      @PrivateEyeYiYi 9 років тому +2

      MonkeyHerder3 This is Aiki-Jujitsu, not Aikido. They are related as are father and son may look alike but also vastly different in temperament and outcome.
      When a defender uses Aikido the forms used are derived from Aiki-J but modified to minimize harm. An attacker will merely be deflected harmlessly, which serves a purpose in those situations where you want to control, not destroy.
      With Aiki-J the original forms are used and the attacker can be seriously injured. This was the original intent when Aiki-J was used in war.

    • @paulofrota3958
      @paulofrota3958 8 років тому +1

      +Reuben Tapp Quite well, actually. We once had a high ranking and skilled BJJ teacher in our dojo and he didn't manage to take down or pin similarly experienced partners during practice (OF COURSE he managed to do it with less experienced students, as he SHOULD). But the hardest part for him was actually connecting to the partnes - students of aiki do not let themselves be touched/caught as in judo or BJJ.

    some techniuqes make sense are applicable for real life situations others are ehhh ifffy. no disrespect but having your hands down waiting for a punch, the punch will catch you first before you lift your hands up to move. its easier if you have your hands up ready to defend. try it practice the techniques light sparring the guy only punching while you try your moves trying to catch the punches and executing the techniques . it helps to fix any holes that are left open, and to fine tune the techniques.

    • @dwddindin

      They share some similar principals in regards to touch sensitivity and structure. Wing Chun focuses on keeping good balance and structure to meet the opponent head on through striking and trapping with sensing connection at the root whereas as aiki uses that same connection to throw and destroy the opponents balance and structure because without it is no root in which power can flow from.

    The only way to evaluate a 'combat style' is to observe it against a skilled fighter. You can find such fighters, for example, in UFC. You barely find any serious UFC fighter who has Aikido background. If it was a real combat system, it would respond to the challenges. In fact, the UFC fighters usually have backgrounds in Wrestling, Brazilian Jujitsu, combined with Boxing/ kickboxing skills.
    This doesn't mean that Aikido is ineffective or useless; Aikido is an Art, emerged from traditional Japanese Aiki-Jujitsu (which was a more aggressive combat system) to achieve moderate self-defence without harming the opponent, in an artful way. There is much more into its spirituality, and in fact was the only martial arts system which was allowed to formally continue the public classes in Japan, immediately after WW II.

      please if you don't understand a martial don't speak about it. you saw ONE demonstration. not the full martial art. when you bring the names muy tai and boxing and bjj in one of your arguments saying that there better you just sound like one of those ufc fanboys.

    Why do u guys believe in this?

      Because it works. I've done traditional Aikido (with lots of different styles as I had to move around a lot) and this guy knows what he is doing.
      Nothing he does here is at all foreign to Aikido but he is explaining and demonstrating very well.
      Some people can see it with their eyes, but everyone can feel it if you interact with someone at this level. I guarantee it. And then you can even imitate it for a little while and really feel how it works. But then it will tend to vanish if you don't practice over and over. Having close contact with an advanced teacher like this is the best way and even then it takes years, depending on us. Everyone is different.

      yes, these fools really belive in this shit. Its nothing unexcepcional, people belive in scientology or financial piramids. So aikido is not that bad after all

    Always a compliant partner. Always these unrealistic tiptoe positions that would never occur in real life. People are not that floppy in real life, especially in a possibly violent confrontation. That floppy compliance is great to demonstrate a technique. Note the new guy didn't flop and move enough, he was new and not fully indoctrinated.
