- I was recently invited to discover the practice of Nomoto Tadashi Sensei from the Horikawa Kodo line of Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu. I asked Nomoto Sensei to demonstrate some of the Aiki techniques for which his school of Daito-ryu is most well known.

Im still looking for a video where one of these grandmasters take on a judoka, grappler, kick boxer or mma person of the same age and pull off these moves. If they are so devastating than surely you can use it in a high stress situation.

@@Tentaiseiil y a certaines choses qui peuvent marcher mais surtout pas ça, il ne faut pas déconner non plus il faut quand même rester réaliste dans les arts martiaux, le problème c'est qu'on voit beaucoup ce genre de chose dans les arts martiaux malheureusement et c'est inquiétant ça donne une mauvaise image pour le coup c'est ça qui m'énerve le plus😤.

Wow... Fake is an understatement.
お弟子さんでなくても、全く同じ体使いと精神状態を発揮できればそういう反応になりますよ。その原理の説明と修得が難しいからできる人があまりいないと思います。
at the end it is for exhibition, but something its true, everything its about ki, conect, project, and control through the correct use of the ki. sound like a fantasy tale, but my sensei also show us and teach us about it, and its amazing. It makes that a single wood stick feels like a piece of steel. If you add the manipulacion of the nerves and vital points it makes more sense. but it is complicated.
Have you ever applied it to a third person?

Selon moi les Uke exagèrent leur réactions, mais les principes démontrés sont très simples : mise en tension articulaire, qui provoque le déséquilibre. N''importe quelle technique est facile à appliquer après cela. (Ce n'est que mon humble analyse, corrigez moi si je me trompe)

So many bad comments. But now wonder. This is beyond imagination. But the most show that they have no clue anyhow when the think this give aiki a bad name. You can find videos of Kodo Horikawa where he is doing simular things.He was the best student of Takeda. Ueshiba was also able to demonstrate such skill and actually thats why he wanted to learn from Takeda because he wanted to learn this.

Depuis 15 ans je partage des visions de l'aiki dans sa conception la plus large et diverse possible, sans jamais les commenter. Ce n'est pas mon role.
@@guillaumeerard D'accord, je comprends votre réponse, et reconnais chez vous cette posture / politique éditoriale du partage "brut", sans commentaires, en premier lieu. Il vous arrive parfois, et je vous en remercie, d'expliciter, ou d'ajouter des précisions.
En moi il y a de l'émotion, et une forme de rejet pour cette forme d'Aïkido. Elle m'étonne et me questionne toujours, vis-à-vis de l'humilité de l'enseignant, de la "dignité" d'Uke, et de la mascarade que cela forme dans mes représentations (alors plus "manga", que Budo).
Disons que je préfère d'autres polarités que celle-ci. Mais le monde et complexe et varié.
Ma curiosité demeure sur ce qui a émergé, pour vous, lorsque vous avez décidé de partager cette vidéo, et non une autre. Ce qui a motivé le passage à l'acte si vous préférez :)
Si vous ne souhaitez pas exprimer ce que ce contenu vous a fait vivre et votre intention dans ce partage, je le respecte bien entendu, et je n'en ferai pas un fromage ^^

@@guillaumeerard quelle serait ta définition de l'Aiki dans ce cas? (Une vidéo à ce sujet serait très intéressante !).
De tout manière, merci pour ton travail, cette chaîne youtube est un bijou pour tout amateur d'Aïkido qui s'intéresserait également au Daito-ryu
Ma motivation est principalement d'ordre académique. Vous savez, chaque année au Budokan, je vois, je filme et je partage des choses qui sont parfois très éloignées de ce que je fais. Cependant, toutes ces choses font parties de l'arbre Aiki. Pour moi, tant que la branche ramène au tronc de façon verifiable, et bien entendu la lignée Horikawa est dans ce cas, je me doit de partager en tant que chercheur. Merci de votre intérêt !
@Diego, si c'est pour expliquer ma vision ou celle de ma lignée, la bien entendu, je pourrais éventuellement m'exprimer. Je ne suis pas sur que l'ecrit ou la video soit le meilleur moyen de le faire mais j'y réfléchis régulièrement. Merci à vous.

Je croyais qu'en 2022 ça se faisait plus ce genre de démo ... personne n' y crois plus. Ça ne met pas dutout en avant selon moi l'Art Martial , le Budo, le sensei et les pratiquants sous jacents. Au temps du MMA ou la réalité du combat prend le dessus sur toute volonté de recherche de la simple beauté geste juste, une demo de la sorte ou les Uke son réduit à de mauvais acteurs me paraît inutile.
Non seulement inutile, mais nuisible pour l image des arts martiaux.

I don't disagree. I think people who want to go down this path should have to go find it and it should stay behind closed doors. It was kept that way for decades for a reason. Just looking at this with no perspective just confuses people and causes too many questions with no answers. Unless you have people actually explaining what's happening and why and what it's used for there's no context. I love Daito Ryu but the quick aiki clips with no context are a bad idea. IMO
And this is why people make fun of aiki things.

It's well staged so you can see the technique clearly but demonstration is very unrealistic .also relies too much on pain for direction not enough leverage and physics . If a person were numb to pain many of these techniques will not work.

En mi humilde opinión esto es una tomada de pelo y que lamentablemente se ha puesto de moda usando el concepto del manejo de la energía...estas cosas hacen un daño terrible a todas las artes marciales, y en particular al Aikido y a la escuela Daito Ryu...ojalá la gente tome conciencia(sus seguidores) y dejen de publicar estas cosas, y si lo hacen que solo ellos comenten mientras el resto solo miramos los videos de los grandes maestros marciales y no a estos estudiantes de Luke Skywalker !

je suis tout à fait d'accord avec toi et du coup ça dénature ces disciplines, et ça malheureusement on le voit beaucoup en Aïkido, dans certains style de Daito-ryu et de de jutsu.
@@mrblaize1997 oui. Après ce n'est pas un jugement. Il faut y participer pour essayer de comprendre. Mais à la limite il faut un disclaimer pour situer le contexte. Déjà qu'il est compliqué de faire comprendre aux supporters de MMA en tout genre que l'efficacité martiale est un faux sujet, si en plus ce genre de vidéo circule les commentaires maladroits vont fuser.
Perso je ne suis pas un pratiquant de sports de combats, même si j ai quelques notions de kick boxing, boxe thaï et jjb. Je suis un pratiquant d arts martiaux.
Alors oui, tous les fan de mma vont se foutre de la gueule de cette vidéo, et à raison.
Mais en tant que pratiquant d arts martiaux, je suis franchement scandalisé de voir cela également, car cela donne vraiment une mauvaise réputation aux arts martiaux, à une époque où il est déjà difficile de recruter de nouveaux membres dans toutes les disciplines.
Je ne connais pas ce sensei, mais je connais bien les arts en général: quand qqn est vraiment bon dans son domaine, quand on le regarde, on se dit : mais c est facile ce qu il fait! Jusqu’à ce q on essaie soi même et q on se rende compte de la difficulté. C est valable pour un artisan, un musicien, un chirurgien, un pratiquant d art martial.
Pas besoin d en rajouter avec des effets tape à l œil comme ici, et en l occurence ici des uke qui font un gros cirque digne d un théâtre comique de mauvais étage.
C est tout bonnement scandaleux pour notre réputation de pratiquants d arts martiaux.
Et on voit tout de suite venir certains commentaires de certains « ultra » de ce type de pratique, comme il y en a un ou 2 déjà : vous pouvez pas comprendre, il faut pratiquer cela pour saisir l art subtil du truc, ce genre de technique ne peut être que comprises et exécutées à un haut niveau, par des experts et des initiés… tout ça c est bullshido. Ça vaut rien.
Ces techniques, je les ai pratiqué dans mon cursus martial, et rien à voir avec cette mascarade. Y a qq principes à retenir dans cela, et beaucoup à mettre à la poubelle, point barre.
J ai pas l habitude de mettre des mauvais commentaires sur des vidéos q j aime pas, mais la franchement, ça dépasse les bornes et fait vraiment du tord aux arts martiaux, et ce pour touts les branches.

Sorry but all of this seems fake to me, not going in the subject wether if this is a real "martial art" or not.. Its Just that the physiological responses from those techniques are fake, no pressure points, no nothing. Those poeple remain "preassured" by ki? What is that?, It doesn't work like that in real life. Normally some mma guy would love to pressure test these techniques but I highly doubt those senseis agree to that

in any of their demonstrations or even practice sessions.?
@@A.SimonsensKanal anytime there is a hand/arm grab in those scenarios, it is implied that the grabbed hand has a weapon, probably a knife or a tanto. In the context, the times this art comes from, everyone had a weapon basically at any time. That is why hand grabs are so prevalent, and that is also why they don't let go, as letting go the hand would be death. That is also why those arts don't have any response to proper striking, because there is no place for it when one of the two practitioners has a weapon. I agree that this demonstration seems foolish because the uke overreacts, but there is also a meaning for it (there is an explanation in this video ua-cam.com/video/EGZxpvUVtK8/v-deo.html at the 6th minute), although I am not really sure what to think about it.
In all cases, you talk about "aikido related styles" as if they were all the same, and all bad. That seems like a bit of a generalization doesn't it? I don't understand why you say those arts are bad, as you don't seem to have much knowledge about them. I don't want to make assumptions, but I would be very surprised if you really knew what you were talking about, and in that case, the reasons, some argumentation, supporting your claim that aikido related styles are bad, would be interesting!

I've been practicing aikido since the age of 11 (1977) and I've been teaching since the early 1980's and this looks like one of the biggest piles of BS I've ever seen. This is the kinda thing that gives a great and misunderstood art a bad name.
This is Daito Ryu Aikijutsu, what Ueshiba taught as an instructor at first. Look up other Daito Ryu schools in Japan, they all teach this.
In a way, Seagal's style is more legitimate than all these guys. Crazy isn't it?
