    Robbie had to be the most annoying part of this movie. I never bought that his need to see the battle was bigger than his need to protect his little sister.
    And then they never explained how he even survived that explosion.

It wouldn't take that many aliens leaving and returning to ships to get the microbes to "pass" through the shields. It's better than stating facts about the movie we all know. The comments sections on reactors are some of the most boring I've ever seen, we need to actually comment on the reactors for once

    • @Dylan_Thomas1
      @Dylan_Thomas1 3 місяці тому

      @@Geoglyph89 They didn't help you highlight how inane it is (and it isn't inane). In fact it's really inane that you would say they did. And do you think your original comment here is more unique than theirs? It's much more of a regurgitation than you treat theirs as.
      Your original comment doesn't make sense. It's just cheap. And easy for you to do in this setting. I doubt you get away with it in real life, if you ever even try it.
      Theirs is simple, but it's not inane, or pointless, or meaningless. Yours is just removed, and genuinely unintelligent, however much it comes from your sense that you're smart. *Think about it just a little bit,* which includes separating yourself from them. In this very video J quotes a character verbatim while laughing, and it'd be equally inane to insult him for it.

    • @Geoglyph89
      @Geoglyph89 3 місяці тому

      @@Dylan_Thomas1 Hilarious, you clearly don't know how the comment section works. More comments = more views = more exposure. Furthermore, you also don't comprehend what 'inane' means. The comment lacks meaning. What point does it serve, or insight? None. It is simply inane. I appreciate the essay though. It was cute.

      Aside from these stories being about humans, we kinda know that the universe doesn't have many planets exactly like Earth.
      That being said, we also know that different elements are available in various places around the universe, not just Earth.
      It could be that yes, there's something special about Earth. It's just doesn't seem special to us because we've been here forever, dreaming about what's Out There

    The 1953 film of _War of the Worlds_ is based on the Cold War and fear of Communism while the 2005 _War of the Worlds_ is based on the 9/11 attacks and living in a post-9/11 world

    Great review, between this and masterpieces like AI, Minority Report, Munich and Catch Me If You Can 2,000's Spielberg needs more love. The Terminal which gets a lot of hate I think is under rated too IMO.

    24:55 There's a soldier in the OG novel with that exact attitude. "This isn't a war, any more than there's a war between men and ants..." Tim Robbins' character is kind of a mix of that dude and the loony prepper from Tremors, except Tremors was a comedy so it worked better.

    War of the worlds was originally a radio story back before TV's were invented. A lot of people freaked out because they thought it was really happening
