Hi, it's Sara, who requested 'Natural Science'! Thanks for reacting to it and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Rush is just amazing live; just three guys create all of that sound! For a future live reaction, I suggest the song 'Jacob's Ladder' live from the R40 tour. It was final tour in 2015, and they hadn't performed it live for decades prior that that. The staging is really cool, and it's such a dark, intense song.

YYZ is the airport code for Toronto's commercial airport. The opening beat is actually the letters YYZ in morse code. Suggestion: React to La Villa Strangiato. It's a 9 minute intrumental and imo their most accomplished musical composition. It's Alex's masterpiece and has a 2.5 minute solo that I consider the greatest rock guitar solo in history. You'll get hits, guaranteed. This is my (and others i've talked to) "If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one song...." song.

It's great to see a young person discovering this epic band and their music. Please check out 2112 from this same concert...It's perfection. I was at this show and it was mind blowing!

Just found your channel, whilst searching for Rush reactions. YYZ is a great instrumental, but yes, a bit short for my tastes too as far as instrumentals. But there is an even better Rush instrumental I'd like to recommend called La Villa Strangiato. I highly recommend Rush's live version from their live album, Exit Stage Left. One other song from Rush I want to suggest today is titled The Necromancer. Both recordings, one instrumental and one with lyrics, and a longer song well worth a listen, especially if you want to hear a bit more Progressive Metal from Rush in a fantasy story form.
I recommend reacting to the original studio version of The Necromancer, I'm not even sure if they ever made a live recording of it anyway as it's more of a kick back, close your eyes and be transported to another world experience than a energetic concert experience. Don't get me wrong, the song itself has plenty of energy!
Rush is my favorite band, and while I would hardly expect for you to cover Rush more than any other artists, as long as you keep a steady sprinkling of Rush in your reactions, I'll subscribe. Rush has plenty to cover of course, with a discography of 19 studio albums over a 45+ year career, and one cover album of 60's rock favorites of theirs, that encompasses around 186 songs in their full discography.

Natural Science is my favorite Rush song. It has everything Rush does in one song.

Here is my suggestion to you... As good as Rush is live (greatest ever) ALWAYS react to the studio versions first with lyrics in hand. After listening to the original intent of the song then you check out your favourites in various live versions. As far as live versions go, try and take the show that is closest to the album release. For example, all songs before 1981, listen to Exit stage left, All the songs between 1981 and 1984 you have to listen to the Grace under pressure tour. Every song between 1985 and 1988 you have to listen to a Show of hands. For all songs between 1989 and after try in order Different stages, Live in Rio, R30, R40, Time machine. The vocals keep dropping in quality from show to show so I don't lean towards these last 4 shows although there are a few really good songs on each.

Good advice. It's not that Rush doesnt play the songs well in concert (they nail it every time), it's that the studio version isnt rife with ambient noise and the levels are mixed perfectly, not fixed in post like most live albums are. It's the way Rush intended you to hear the songs, the studio version is exactly as they wanted. For a band as technical and complex as Rush, hearing it the way they intended you to should be the first listen. Again, their performance live is amazing, but the recordings arent nearly of the studio quality. Quality is what Rush is all about.

Hi there, regarding your volume, I say crank it up. I think viewers would rather turn it down if necessary than turn up. Just my opinion. Good reaction to my favourite band!
