Hell yeahhh!!! I just saw trauma ray in Fort Worth a couple weeks ago

@@spacesquid2119 luckyyyy I need them to come to Nashville ASAP I’ve been dying to see them 😂
@@thetomatoadvocate8465 that would be sick, they’ve been getting a lot of traction so I don’t doubt you’ll get a chance to
cool collection kid, try listening to the danish band mew
Amnesiac next?
Already heard it 😭 I have it on vinyl, it’s a great album
There, There absolute banger
All their albums take repeat listens to fully digest, every album has great moments but some obviously a little more than others.
Fantastic first listen!
kid a hate will not be tolerated !!
Electric lady land is a total trip
Next "In Rainbows"?
@@michaelsview3221 I’ve already heard it, I’m not opposed to doing a review on it tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Motion picture soundtrack is played at the end of the film "I-Origins" 2014
Amnesiac isn't the b-sides for Kid A it's just the songs that didn't fit on it. Radiohead has more great b-sides/non-album tracks than most bands have on their albums, Thom is very selective when it comes to what tracks are on the album and where, the upshot is how many great tunes they have that aren't on any albums. They easily could've cut at least 3 full albums with all those tracks, but it's more fun finding out about them as you listen to them and the best way to go about that is to start with The Bends b-sides and just go in order.
You should listen to Charles Mingus, jazz genius, which influenced Radiohead heavily. This is evidenced in The National Anthem, which you mentioned that you weren't necessarily a huge fan of. It might give some context as to the sound.
A Moon Shaped Pool next!!!!
@@ntt1713 been wanting to do that one for a while It’ll definitely happen soon!
awesome album
Hail to the thief next !!!!
Ok computer!!!!😊
I’ve already heard it 😭 I wish I would’ve reacted to it tho
Studio version was recorded in 1975, so we are talking more than two decades later. By this point, Geddy had realized that if he had kept singing they way he had in 1975 he wouldn't be singing much by the time he had reached 50. It's also worth noting that all footage from this concert came out as a box set bonus years later. They had been hoping to use it for their next live concert release but found the quality insufficient. That will likely have had some impact on how the instruments (including Geddy's voice) sounded. Yes, they are old (as are most of your commentators). In fact, the remaining two band members just celebrated their 70th birthdays last year. The world lost the drummer/lyricist, Neil Peart, to Gliblastoma five years ago this month. And, while I have no doubt you've already been told that you haven't actually listened to 2112 (pronounced "twenty-one twelve") if you've only heard its first two movements, please allow me to reiterate: you haven't! ; )
Yes, it was crazy to see live, although our seats were back far enough that we had better luck with the screens on either side of the stage than with just looking at the band directly. I was 29 at the time. The Molson Amphitheatre, now (unfortunately) known as the Budweiser Stage, has been my favourite concert venue ever since!
Jim was one best singer/songwriters of 70s. The best decade for them. So much talent. Im 66. If you ask your Dad ,he'll tell you. Jim & Maury died too soon. 😢❤
Watch this song in RIO. It will blow you away.
Great reaction! Honest and open.
Thank you! Means a lot that you enjoyed it
Listening to the studio version first will give you a better appreciation of the musicians that you now are so enthralled to see more of. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Rush, I’ve lost count on how many times I have said that to reactions of new listeners. You have to listen to all that song to appreciate story.
Every now and then a live version will catch lightning, but you're 100% correct. Plus audio memory fills in the gaps One exception for Kiss. They sound like sludge in the studio. They only bring it live.
1997 toronto I was There..
That's just 21... 😅
Best comment 😂😂😂 I’ll react to the other half soon
@thetomatoadvocate8465 I respect the requester's choice and yes Rush live is great but a few songs are better on the album or official video when available. Don't do a second half. Do the whole 20 minutes, studio or the cartoon version.
Avoid anything called vizualizer. They are misleading, distracting, and have little to no artistic value.
Such a rabbit hole is Rush . Glad to see yet another generation experiencing the greatest 3pce ever . Saw them do 2112 and a bunch of other great tunes on December 31,1978 Maple Leaf Gardens. One of many times . Enjoy, greetings from YYZ 🇨🇦
Thanks man. I hope that you enjoyed it. Therere's the second half..parts 4 through 7 which are even better if you're up for it.
IMO, if you can find a quality video, go with the live version. Rush shows were great. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. (1/2 hour set? Rush concerts were usually 3 hours long) : )
great reaction! you will love the two EP's that were released prior to Loveless, 'Tremolo' and 'Glider', featuring tracks from the Loveless LP. In a way, I prefer the soundscapes on these two EP's. MBV also released an LP in 2013 'MBV'

The reprised themes in Root of all evil are part of a series of songs that Portnoy wrote about his alcoholism. Spanning a few albums and known as the 12 step suite
All great musicians in my favorite band. Who have been my three favorite people since 1980. In my next life I'm gonna come back as the great Alex Lifeson. RUSH ON EH!!! ❤❤❤
YYZ is the airport code for Toronto's commercial airport. The opening beat is actually the letters YYZ in morse code. Suggestion: React to La Villa Strangiato. It's a 9 minute intrumental and imo their most accomplished musical composition. It's Alex's masterpiece and has a 2.5 minute solo that I consider the greatest rock guitar solo in history. You'll get hits, guaranteed. This is my (and others i've talked to) "If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one song...." song.
Hi there, regarding your volume, I say crank it up. I think viewers would rather turn it down if necessary than turn up. Just my opinion. Good reaction to my favourite band!
Hi, it's Sara, who requested 'Natural Science'! Thanks for reacting to it and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Rush is just amazing live; just three guys create all of that sound! For a future live reaction, I suggest the song 'Jacob's Ladder' live from the R40 tour. It was final tour in 2015, and they hadn't performed it live for decades prior that that. The staging is really cool, and it's such a dark, intense song.
Here is my suggestion to you... As good as Rush is live (greatest ever) ALWAYS react to the studio versions first with lyrics in hand. After listening to the original intent of the song then you check out your favourites in various live versions. As far as live versions go, try and take the show that is closest to the album release. For example, all songs before 1981, listen to Exit stage left, All the songs between 1981 and 1984 you have to listen to the Grace under pressure tour. Every song between 1985 and 1988 you have to listen to a Show of hands. For all songs between 1989 and after try in order Different stages, Live in Rio, R30, R40, Time machine. The vocals keep dropping in quality from show to show so I don't lean towards these last 4 shows although there are a few really good songs on each.
Good advice. It's not that Rush doesnt play the songs well in concert (they nail it every time), it's that the studio version isnt rife with ambient noise and the levels are mixed perfectly, not fixed in post like most live albums are. It's the way Rush intended you to hear the songs, the studio version is exactly as they wanted. For a band as technical and complex as Rush, hearing it the way they intended you to should be the first listen. Again, their performance live is amazing, but the recordings arent nearly of the studio quality. Quality is what Rush is all about.
It's great to see a young person discovering this epic band and their music. Please check out 2112 from this same concert...It's perfection. I was at this show and it was mind blowing!
Natural Science is my favorite Rush song. It has everything Rush does in one song.
Watch the older live version. 😊
Just found your channel, whilst searching for Rush reactions. YYZ is a great instrumental, but yes, a bit short for my tastes too as far as instrumentals. But there is an even better Rush instrumental I'd like to recommend called La Villa Strangiato. I highly recommend Rush's live version from their live album, Exit Stage Left. One other song from Rush I want to suggest today is titled The Necromancer. Both recordings, one instrumental and one with lyrics, and a longer song well worth a listen, especially if you want to hear a bit more Progressive Metal from Rush in a fantasy story form. I recommend reacting to the original studio version of The Necromancer, I'm not even sure if they ever made a live recording of it anyway as it's more of a kick back, close your eyes and be transported to another world experience than a energetic concert experience. Don't get me wrong, the song itself has plenty of energy! Rush is my favorite band, and while I would hardly expect for you to cover Rush more than any other artists, as long as you keep a steady sprinkling of Rush in your reactions, I'll subscribe. Rush has plenty to cover of course, with a discography of 19 studio albums over a 45+ year career, and one cover album of 60's rock favorites of theirs, that encompasses around 186 songs in their full discography.
Stick Hits remastered videos are always dark to watch . That's why I tend to stay away from watching them.🤘RUSH🤘 😃s from 🇨🇦
The intro to These Walls is actually Petrucci, not Myung. He's tuned down to drop A. He used an 8 string on the latest album but otherwise that's the lowest tuning they've used. I think it's an underrated song musically. The combination of such a heavy guitar with portnoy's focus on cymbals makes for a really interesting sound
@@andrewsitek190 that’s insane!!! That sounded wayyyyy lower than drop A
General (positive) critique: As long as you're willing to make a reaction video lasting almost 80 minutes, you should have at least respected the work of the artists you're reacting to and NOT CUT OUT ANY PART OF THE MUSIC, even though your end result is 3-4 minutes longer. There are snips and cuts throughout, the most unforgiveable one being THE ENTIRE GUITAR SOLO of Sacrificed Sons. Not following or subscribing unless you see the light and change your ways in future reactions!
@@nexuslang I tried posting it uncut but UA-cam blocked it I completely understand you tho
I don't like this album as much as many fans do. I think their last great album was six degrees. I'm not sure if you're familiar with their older stuff but I can highly recommend.
This isn't a concept album in the sense that there's a continuous story, but musically it is. The songs are all in different keys going though an octave, the first and last are in the same key. The album ends where it begins, which ties to the lyrics about their musical influences and sense of self. The albums starting from Scenes from a Memory would end where the next one begins, and this one closes that. Another fun fact regarding the previous albums is that Six Degrees is their sixth album with six songs, Train of Thought their seventh with seven songs and this one their eighth with eight songs.
That’s so cool!!
@@thetomatoadvocate8465 Also, over the 3 previous albums, DT ended the album with a theme or tone or note that was the first thing you heard on the next album (for example, the scratching LP sound you hear at the end of "Metropolis Part II: Scenes From A Memory" is the first thing you hear in "The Glass Prison", the first song on their next album, "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence". The Root of All Evil (Octavarium) starts with the last note of SDOIT. This went on for 4 albums, and ended with Octavarium when the title song ends with the theme of coming full circle. DT has tons of Easter eggs like this throughout their discography. The Root of All Evil is also one of Mike Portnoy's "Twelve Step Suite", five songs spread over several albums that tell the story of Portnoy's struggles against alcoholism.
