Many moons ago, there was a beautiful girl I loved at a party. She was the the most gorgeous thing on the face of the planet. However she took the Wishbone Ash vinyl off the record player (stereo) and put her own music on. I knew I could never love her again. but I still love Wishbone Ash. I guess that girl was just not as cool as I thought she was. Her loss.
Hey Desertwalker that's the best thing I ever heard.. Poor lad I,I feel for you.I might have had to take a vote. Her crusty friends probably would have outvoted you. But, you knew then it was useless
Always loved their twin guitars and Andy's flying V. Great 'progressive' rock, slowing things down, building them up again. For me, this type of shuffle rock, combined with great lead guitar work is unbeatable.Going to a Wishbone or Rory Gallagher concert, feet tapping in unison with hundreds of others, the real determined fans dedicated head shakers, ( long hair absolutely compulsory) was a wonderful experience.
I was a fourteen year old kid liking what I call entry level rock music, then one day my uncle educated me by playing Live dates for me on his ludicrously expensive hi fi, once my mind had been opened to this I was on a higher level musically.
I saw them at a small venue in Montgomery County Maryland.I am still performing 70s music, acoustically, for dinner music at high end golf course restaurant's.This is the music they want to here.
I live in Montgomery County Maryland. I never saw them live but sure wish I did. Love me some Ash never gets old. Glad to hear people still want to hear them. Keep Rocking
@@dougurso7976 As a guitarist I love great guitar riffs and Wishbone had some great hooks. The King Will Come,Throw Down The Sword,Blowing Free are great guitar parts.
@@jackkellydunn4079 Very true Jack they are special. love those songs u mentioned. I never get tired of hearing those guitars jamming. Take care. Keep rocking man !
I listen to this song in memory of my best friend Jason. I hadn't heard from him in a while, so I typed in his name and his obituary came up. He died. I didn't know it. He had every Wishbone Ash album there was, he has about 12 feet of albums. (We used to measure our records in feet back then) RIP Jason Krucas. I love you my dear friend.
YES INDEED THESE GUYS WERE GREAT MUSICIANS I SAW THEM PLAY IN 1974 AT THE COLISEUM IN SEATTLE THEY ROCKED THE HOUSE AND STILL DO..... THANKS WISHBONE ASH.
We love Wishbone, we do Blowing Free, as part of our set and doing Jail bait next, our lead guitarist has supported WA in years gone by, brilliant band
I really missed out. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and I never really bothered to investigate bands like this. Guys like Wishbone Ash and Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush kind of hovered around the edges of superstardom, but never really got that push to send them over the top. So, never really caught my attention. Now, at the age of 58, I'm going back to see what I missed. Now, I'm disappointed I didn't pay more attention.
.Sorely miss u Arun ...Wishash as u called them was ur fav..still hv ur cassette sent from Curacao Venezuela ..Two Surds on our journey n blowing in the Wind ..Missing u Bro ..Adios ..Manjit / Goa
Dont give a flying fuck, these guys were a revelation back in my youth, and i still rate them better muscians than anything since, especially the crap claiming to be music today.
I was introduced to them by the late lamented John Peel in the very early 70's when he did his Saturday afternoon slot on radio 1. He seemed to play jailbait every week. Been following them ever since
It's impossible to find guys who like that kind of music - I really like to cover that kind of music - if somebody likes too CALL Me and thats SERIOUS!!!
saw them years ago .on the same bill as Jonny Winter ,both played played Gibson Flying V .bet they had some great jams ,had to learn to play after seeing them
Kiddies, you wanna know what CLASS is................................................??? WELL - now you DO !! (And no clever-clever lighting or pointless choreography to distract you from the 'music')
Love it I'm 71 still get goosebumps
When music gives you the bumps , it's always special , doesn't matter what type of music it is . 😎👍
Even now at 70 still blows my heart.
I saw them 1976 together with Van der Graaf Generator and Jethro Tull in Hamburg/Ernst Merck-Halle.
Wishbone Ash , these guys are like vintage wine , getting better as it ages !!!!!
Corked..
After playing Blowing Free a million times Andy still makes it sound fresh.
Does that Include the missing notes.?
Most underated band in the universe !
Saw wishbone Ash at the apollo in Glasgow several times in the 70s still a kick ass band, with songs that still stand loud and proud today.
Back again to hear these guys play i never get enough Wishbone Ash that's for sure!
Great band. Great song. Began listening to them in 1973 when they came out with their "Live Dates" album. Awesome times.
I've been in love with this song for more than 40 Years!
Saw them back in '73, they opened for Bruce Springsteen in Cleveland at the Allen Theater. Still enjoying to this day! 😎✌❤🎶

Love this performance. Andy Powell and the band are just so much fun live.
Saw Wishbone 4 times in the 70's once in an old tiny move theater. All great shows!!!
Saw them play this song at UW-Stevens Point in 1973. First rock concert I ever attended and now etched in my mind.

The best twin lead guitars band ever. Andy Powell is great.
muddy's cool ass too.
helloooooo thin lizzy, ground breaking....allways better to be first.
Hank Stains , I could be wrong, and I do like Lizzy, but I think you’ll find Ash were doing twin guitar before Lizzy even formed. Ash formed in ‘69.
Rocking Roll Animal Album /Twin Leads Too
Loved Muddy...

Great band. Always the opening act back in the day
My favorite band forever and I don't care what you have to say about that!
THIS IS GREAT HIGHWAY MUSIC. THEY WERE THE LOUDEST BAND I'VE EVER HEARD. UMBC 1970. WAS ANYBODY ELSE THERE?
Yes, this is a classic, but the band blends it with newer material, constantly keeping things fresh.
