My Death Metal band had a song called “Bury Me With My Money” which was a tribute to an Iron Maiden old west galloping bass line. The verse lyrics were: Steaming til daybreak, coals burning red, look through the night for the sight that we dread. Stallion hooves pounding, narrowing their eyes, God himself couldn’t stop them from seeking their prize.
This is my favorite Konami Run and Gun plus my favorite SNES Run and Gun. Its one of the two games that assured my love of video game Shotguns which carried over when I started playing first and third person shooters later. What's funny is I never played the arcade game until long after I had the SNES game and didn't play the Genesis port, which I despise, until after I had the SNES version. I always considered the Paco Loco boss battle to be pretty easy.
10:13 - Great verb: "interpolated". Perfectly describes the way the movie-score music is layered in, in between the music typical of a "protagonists-climb-mountain" level.
As a kid I thought that Indian was the final boss. There was no possible way it could get harder than that. I thought this is the first time i've seen the rest of the game. Thanks
Great port on the snes. I actually enjoyed also the genesis port. Anyway great arcade game and later konami did even better with mystic warriors and cowboys of moo mesa
Yeah, this is a top 5 (or even 3) Arcade to SNES port. Turtles in Time and Knights of the Round are the only others I can think of (OTTOMH) that might be ahead of it in that category.
Knights of the round was good, but was a definite downgrade compared to the arcade version. Turtles in time is actually BETTER on the SNES. There are some amazing non-beat em up ports like Street Fighter and NBA Jam, and Undercover Cops was done really well on the SNES (but sadly never released officially outside of Japan).
Yup! They opted for less memory, and when it came time to do the SNES port, I guess they decided it would be better to shell out for more. Glad they did!

Those lyrics are pretty badass. I’m not great at writing lyrics so the song at the end took me a while to make.
9:26 - Great visual breakdown of sprite-usage relative to storage space. :)
I am thrilled to read this comment because I spent way too much time animating that 🙏🏻

It’s that dickhead in the tree that always gets me.

Always good to see when someone has made it that far into one of my videos haha

He is pretty damn hard to be fair. Possibly harder than the final boss!
Stayed for the song at the end, worth it
Agreed!
Thanks man! Pretty proud of that one!
Is that an NES "Adventures of Lolo" I see on your virtual basement's gameroom shelf? 16:52 -EDIT: I zoomed in, and saw it's Lolo 2, plus Lolo 3.
Haha yeah the guy I got to make it unfortunately didn’t really know how thick an average NES game box is unfortunately, so they’re a bit wonky.
@@motrongames We'll go with "original, shrink-wrapped cartridges which got puffed up with air over the decades".
Cormano should've had his own game. He's an iconic character.
I was considering making the song at the end just about Cormano tbh
Cormano 4 Life! - Recently downloaded this on ps4 because I wanted some nostalgia.
Cormano is 90% of the character out of all 4 of those guys.
@@motrongames Now all I can hear is "Cormano Man" to the tune of "Volcano Man" from the movie Eurovision

I just watched a playthrough of cowboys of moo mesa and, wow that was a lot to take in.

I love the Chief Scalp'em fight, "Don't shoot my brother!" "Alright M'am', we won't shoot him." ---- after shooting him hundreds of times.
“Ma’am, with the amount of times we shot him, we believe your brother is a terminator”
@@motrongames He brought a knife to a gunfight, and almost won.
Non stop action n a good gameplay at all?
Absolutely!
The genesis title had less censorship too. Game played fine but only half the levels. Konami had only so much memory to work with the genesis version.

😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Remake would be great
For real. This game just came and went.
