Among various RPGs and games like Mario Kart and Donkey Kong Country 1-3 definitely one of my most favorite games. It's one of those games that you can almost never go wrong with in my opinion.
When I first saw this one of my friends got it new. He spent weeks trying to get to the end only to find out about the second loop. I never seen someone so determined to beat it when we spent one weekend trying so hard! He finally did! As for myself … I don’t think I ever got to the second boss 😅
I beat this game for the first time on "Easy" before beating it on "Normal." From what I can tell, difficulty only changes enemy attack frequency. Anyway, I think it helped me learn the patterns and how to be efficient with the Goddess Bracelet. Could be worth a try. There's also a ROM patch which eliminates the slowdown and can be played on an Everdrive or SD2SNES. It almost feels like it loses some its soul without the slowdown but maybe that's nostalgia talking.
Playing this game again has become sort of a yearly Halloween tradition for me in the last few years. It's probably my favourite in the series, it really feels like Capcom got the balance right between being just as challenging as the other games, but forgiving enough and with enough spectacle that you didn't really mind how tough it is :)
I would agree with you for about 95% of the game. The last level with the bracelet is comically difficult and really should have had at least a checkpoint. Still a great game.
SNES changed my life . Yeah the Genesis was faster ,but the 5 layer scrolling , increible colors & sound & quality of exclusive franchises ,SNES was my go to until Playstation launched .
Genesis was faster, snes was more robust. That’s the gist of the console comparisons. But as always, it comes down to the games. I was a snes kid myself.
@@motrongames I must add that NHLPA 93' was probably my favorite Genny game along with the sonic series . I played a lot of SSF2T MK2 and KI on SNES !!!!!! Still have a fondness for boogerman too !!!!
It's not always faster, I'm fact there are plenty of Genesis games with atrocious slowdown in some sections. It is just most Sega kids just remember the hits on their console, completely forgetting about all the other games with bad slowdown.
@@motrongames I had the same experience you did, but with the game Bubble Bobble. I beat it with a second player, and the game promptly told me and my friend "Great job, now go back and 'actually' beat the game, by yourself."
I always felt the fact that your amor flying off and you were running around in your underwear was homage to Excalibur the movie. When Perciville finds the Grail.
I don't get why so many people like to pick up the crossbow. it's probably the 2nd worst weapon, because the magic version doesnt allow you to shoot again while the previous shot is in the air. this kills people so often. take the dagger, it far outlives any advantage the crossbow might have against certain enemies. the only issue I have with this game is that you have to go through all the levels twice ... that felt so deflating when I finally got to the end as a kid. only to find the stupid bracelet, which is the worst weapon in the game, at the very end ... what a sick joke :D
I like the crossbow. It works as a default weapon and especially works against the gargoyles and most bosses. The homing shot is frustrating though yeah.
I found the magic crossbow to be pretty useful in the second half of the water level. Riding the raft up and down makes it difficult to hit enemies. The homing crossbow allows you to hit enemies even offscreen!
Look at this one then shows the zx spectrum version.... has clearly no ideia about that legendary computer that was very old at the time. Sigh.... hes american...

Yeah it just has this fun, spooky, and enthusiastic vibe. Always makes me smile playing that first level.
@@motrongames Yeah. It dipped a bit towards the end, but until the part where you meet Firebrand it's top notch
@@NeoLotex the one you can’t run past and hit the checkpoint.

I tried about 100 times to beat the second loop. I’m probably gonna do a livestream on Halloween where I try again. So. Damn. Hard.
This is the best possible parody song of a parody song.13:32
Hahah I was worried about the vocal harmonies but they didn’t turn out too bad
Loved this game back in the day and still do. I think its basically 16 bit Dark Souls 😂👍
Damn right! Holy shit what a battle.

Oh I have a trick. I might make a UA-cam short on how to implement it.

Yay new video!❤

To answer the rhetorical of the video title: "It's just right that it's too hard. "
I will beat it properly one day.

Maybe! I always found it hilarious.
I've literally laughed-out-loud thrice in the first minute of run time.
Yeah not only did I include a picture of you, but I got your favourite pumpkin in there as well!

This game was really a pain in the ass but I love it !!!!
It’s rare both statements are true!

I like to play this game on a Snes emulator that lets me overclock the CPU so there's no slowdown. 🙂
I feel it may lose a bit of its character in doing so, however! I can’t imagine the level 4 boss at normal speed!
F'n ridiculous game.
So many set up mandatory hits that are unavoidable.
Difficult for the sake of difficult.
Every criticism about this games difficulty is fair.
@motrongames yeah, I know I'm just pissing and moaning. I'm salty because I spent 30 mins failing to clear the 1st area and reach the checkpoint lol.👍
@@FurtiveSkeptical the first area is a lot more random that the other levels to be fair. Final level on the second playthrough is pure evil however.
