Bolt, Tangled, Zootopia, AND Encanto are all cinematic masterpieces, and he co-directed all 4 of them and only those 4. He worked on other movies but he was at the helm along with other people for just those 4.
@@henrythef1guy768You're right now that I think about it, Byron Howard and Jared Bush (his co director) are the only guys seemingly capable of doing something decent at the very least, even the shorts based on their movies were pretty good and he was just there as a producer. Though the next movie he's possibly directing is zootopia 2 (if the execs don't fuck up more than usual and pick someone else to direct the world he and his team created), so I'm kinda scared that he may get fucked over like the frozen 2 team, but there's always the chance that the madman actually pulls off the unthinkable, a good disney sequel.

I still remember studying about Walt Disney. Who started everything. He was a visionary, intelligent and kind hearted soul who wanted to entertain families.

He erased his partner's name in that they built together aka the "Walt Disney studio" Its clear he was visionary and loved cartoons and had a good eyes seeing what sells but he basically imprisoned his workers until the product was done. Even though I still love the classic era of Disney, the company shot themselves in the foot with their modern monopoly/catalog. And honestly, I can't say it's undeserved. They did this to themselves. They got the magic back at the tale end of the 80s and early to late 90s releasing some of their most iconic work and then took a nosedive during the 00's with crap like Home on the Range and Chicken Little. Until they came back by literally buying up all the current talent and are now back in the dumps again.
They'll come back out of it. It's just what Disney does.

Disney did tighten the deadlines for the Sequel trilogy and executively meddled in TRoS but the lack of a plan for the trilogy from Day 1 and the writing teams making questionable decisions (“NoT fIgHtInG wHaT wE HaTe, SaViNg WhAt We LoVe” 🤡🤡🤡🤡) were probably just as big, if not a bigger factor as to why SO MANY PEOPLE hate the Sequel Trilogy
Steve Jobs talked about this issue before. He basically said, once a company becomes a monopoly, good products no longer matter, only sales and marketing. As result, the product people get pushed out, and the things that made great products rots away. How right he was.
Walt and Roy Disney knew that too.
And then he killed innovation and great ideas by creating the bases of Sales and marketing strategies "it's a revolution" when it's not.

It's not Mickey, it's the mickey in steamboat willy that goes into public domain. Also, Laywers could argue that Mickey is protected by Trademark because it is so essential to the representation of the Disney company. So Parody mickey is legal, traditional mickey could be more tricky.

@@DoktorSkipper Something you forgot to mention was how they barely release anything for current animated TV series ( Such as The Owl House and Amphibia ) . They did this Gravity Falls but after they made that book in 2021 without Alex Hirsch's involvement. They haven't made anything new of Gravity Falls products. They rejected a Lego Ideas project three times and even possibly cancelled a new wave of Gravity Falls Funko Pops last year . They care more about making Bluey than TOH , GF, and Amphibia right now.
Disney is like Ancient Rome, if they don’t course correct it’s going to end badly for them.

It's a lot harder now only because of the crap they purchased. What you described was more in house struggles and they overcame that by themselves with their own property. I wouldn’t say Star Wars had cobwebs after the prequels. The Clone Wars managed to keep the hype train going for several of us. It had a rocky start but grew with its audience.
As unimaginative as it might be, I think Lucasfilm should just do another trilogy following a recasted Han, Luke and Leia after the original trilogy. Just act like the sequels didn't happen and adapt the things that happened in the books with some new stuff added

Honestly dude I just started watching your videos but I gotta say I like the longer videos. These short ones have wayyyy to much editing going on. It's like ok chill. The longer videos give more depth, explanation and time for the jokes.
While I don't think that selling Disney to apple would be that grand of an idea, considering how big apples sway in entertainment already is, but Disney for sure needs to sell some of their properties. Marvel and Lucasfilms have the ability to stay on their own feet due to their insane influence and brand recognition and Disney could for sure keep merchandise rights. Pixar would probably be better off actually being bought by apple as apple has the money to let them do whatever Pixar wants and are actually quite laid back when it comes to Apple TV+ (they don't have much but quality wise it is most definitely the most consistently good streaming service).
Disney used to be the embodiment of animation, they quite literally produced magic, now they don't even care for it anymore. If you tell someone from 15 years ago that neither Disney nor Pixar manages to keep up with DreamWorks and Sony Animation they would bully you for being a moron.

In idea, it's a great concept : Giant Lore, bigger universe, so many characters that can connect with each other in different stories, etc,etc. In practice, it's predictable (the movie always setting up the next), it's hard to follow (all the content you have to consume to be up to date is mind bungling), to many rules and event to take into account each time you make a movie (because you have to keep the universe going), you can't affect the world to much. Since endgame, i couldn't care less about Marvel movies. It was already difficult to follow before, but after that mediocre ending, i can't be bother
