  • Having ACNE and PCOS is EXHAUSTING at times and it has impacted every area of my life. Even areas that don't directly relate. Have acne, cystic pimples, hyperpigmentation and scarring has stopped me from doing so many things in life and it has impacted my relationships. Having PCOS and all of the symptoms that come with it has been really challenging, mentally and emotionally. I needed to sit down, vent, and document how I was feeling in the moment. It was something that finally clicked in my head - how my life is ruled by these conditions. I am grateful for my life, I really am. I'm even grateful for these challenges BUT sometimes, it gets hard to manage and it's too much. With that being said, I am creating non-negotiables for myself so that I can make real progress in these areas. Consistency is KEY, we hear that all the time. I need to put my health first and I hope you do too.
Oh and, Happy PCOS Awareness Month!

Thank you for listening! Just to clarify, I don’t want to stop wearing makeup forever but I would like to not depend on it on a daily basis.

Hi there, I hope you’re having a good day. I feel you I suffer from acne and pcos and I’m diabetic type 2 and I have depression. It’s soooo hard I hate it some days I don’t like others to see my face either. It really sucks and I’m sorry because I feel your pain. I can see that you have been so a lot and continue to be going through it. I’m here too. I’m glad you posted this and I’m happy I saw it. ❤️😊🙌🏼 sending you a huge hug!!

Yes acne for sure can REALLY impact your life in a negative way!! I can relate to this video soooooo much. There's been many many times when I've skipped going somewhere because of my skin.I remember HATING summer time because its so bright out& you can see my skin clearly & putting makeup on it just made it look worst at times. I would be soooo jealous of seeing girls in summer time with little to no makeup& just being outdoors having a great time like at the beach.. I really really wish you luck on your clearer skin journey!! Keep us updated!!

Thank you for your comment, Carla! You get it! You understand the embarrassment that comes with having acne. It’s something I’m really trying to work on getting past. I know I will get there and I know you will too if you haven’t already. Thank you for watching! 💗

Hey girl, I know you probably don't want to hear this because I understand your goal of getting clear skin naturally and healthy and I admire that so much and it is possible from your past videos. I've felt the exact same way you express in this video. Not enjoying life to the fullest. I tried eating extra healthy and exercising and getting the right amount of sleep ( I still do all of these things) but the only thing that really took my acne away was spironolactone. I know you had gone on it a few years ago and if I remember correctly you saw good results. As of now, even if you just went back on it to get your skin back on track and your mental health on track too. But of course you know what's best for you. I've been on it for almost 5 years and it's the best decision I ever made. My skin did a complete turn around and so did my life. I wish you the best Amy!

I so appreciate you for leaving this comment. Believe it or not, I go back and forth about getting back on Spironolactone. I definitely saw good results on it. I’m so glad that it has been working for you for the last 5 years! A part of me wishes I wouldn’t have stopped taking it because I know my skin would not be where it’s at and I feel like it’s going to take a while to repair the damage, scars, etc. Spiro is still an option for sure but I want to truly give it my all before I go back to it. But I don’t know how much more of my life I can put on hold for my skin, you know? Thank you for your comment! What dosage are you on right now?

I have been on spirnolactone for 6 and a half weeks and I am doing fantastic on it. I am almost completely clear already.

@@AmyAliWellnessOf course! I've been watching your journey and I'm always rooting for you. I was really opposed to taking any pill to treat my acne but I just realized my life was passing me by so I just gave in but I'm actually really happy I did decide to take it. I've also been dealing with scarring over the last few years too, I've done micro needling with PRP (7 treatments) and 4 picosure focus laser treatments and have seen great results. I was taking 50mg for the first two years but I bumped it up to 100mg and that really cleared my skin. I believe you are allowed to take up to 200mg for acne so you just have to find the right dose for you if you decide to go back on it 😊

@@AmyAliWellness 100 mg a day. I am also on tretonoin.5 percent but have been on that for over 8 years. My hormonal acne was acting up the last 3 years or so despite being on tretonoin. I tried everything. Have given up dairy, added supplements, and I am a personal trainer so I am in shape. This is a life saver for me .

Your situation sounds like what my cousin was going through. She started a vegan diet and it helped her out so much. She was finally able to get pregnant after trying for 9 years. She also has PCOS was over weight and suffered from acne. Her face has cleared up and she kept the weight off. She lives a vegan life now.

I know how you feel😩 I’ve been been suffering with acne since the age of 12 and now I’m suffering with hormonal adult acne! No one understands not only does it look bad but it’s so painful 😣 I’m on spironolactone and antibiotics for years Iv avoided accutane but if spironolactone doesn’t work, I’ll start accutane I’m so tired of living like this!

hey dear. I had acne for over 15 years but it calmed down since I take hormones for thyroid. I got diagnosed with Hashimito. This is sth that many have. You can check it up. It is often not enough to check TSH. you should have the complede blood test with all the thyroid hormones and antibodies.
Since then my acne has calmed down.
    Maybe you also have hypothyroid.
I wish you luck and power from my heart.
