When the abs module goes bad what symptoms does your brakes have.. My brakes sink to the floor I changed rotors brake pads and bleed the brakes and still sink..
Sounds like a possible brake booster problem. I would check your brake booster. It’s the assembly that usually looks like a drum and is attached to the brake fluid reservoir.
Did you find your problem? Mine sinks to the floor and I just done a brake booster about 6 months ago. It’s at random too sometimes they were flawlessly.
@@jamesb3654it’s the module went bad idk why. I changed my calipers then all symptoms started. Stiff wheel, pedal sinking and abs light along with bad rear
Not too bad of a video, need to light up the area when under the truck so we could see what you're doing. Like the connectors to the Module was so dark.
Perry P Appreciate the advice, at the time I didnt have a fancy Milwaukee LED light like I do now. Im still “newer” to this youtube thing but sure do appreciate any advice!
Hey random question but does anyone know what the truck does if it doesn't have the Ebcm controller in? Other than brakes not working correctly? Recently bought a truck and for some reason it doesn't have a ebcm
@@rileys681 oh wow, yeah your truck had to have definitely had one since my truck was an 03. Did they just loop all the lines together or something?!? That’s interesting as heck!
@@rileys681 wow, that’s shitty. Yeah, when I did this, the best price i found was at rockauto. Just make sure to be extra careful when starting the threads of the lines going into the abs module, they can easily be cross threaded. You’ll need a scanner to bleed the system. If you dont have a scanner, you could possibly bleed the system by literally taking it for a drive and slamming the brakes on a slippery surface to trigger ABS (this should technically bleed the system).
thanks man you gave me the confidence to take on this project. 🙌
Most definitely! Feel free to ask questions when the time comes and i’ll do my best to get back to them!

2 of those lines run up to the master cylinder. Those are the ones I have tochange
What type of ratchet is that
I like the swivel head plus the extension part

Looks like a abs pump change, not abs
module replace. Correct?
What size is the star bit to remove the 4 screws for the module

I reckon I’ll try that next when I get some down time. Thank you for looking down here and responding!
Where did you find a new abs pump? Out of stock everywhere!
sorry. This video was uploaded back in 2019. At the time, I had purchased the pump from rockauto.com
Hey man are the pump interchangeable they don’t need any reprogramming done???
I’m pretty sure they are. The older stuff didnt require any programming. The only routine my scanner offered was a brake bleed routine.

@@MJAltairy just trying to help. I starting mine own too. So I know what you mean just trying to help.
How did you bleed it?
Hope this helps!

What year is your truck? Could possibly be that your truck doesn’t come equipped with ABS (anti-lock brake system).

Do you still have your 03’ duramax ??
No, i sold it sometime ago.
