My working theory is the detective Yoongi is the surviving Agust D from Daechwita who has himself become corrupted. He has the scar but it is much more healed. He is a detective but is corrupt - the money that the criminal Yoongi took and burned was his. This Yoongi has no scar and is actually Suga not Agust D. As Criminal Suga leaves with the money he nods to the bald guy who had phoned the Detective. The balled guy is in league with Criminal Suga and leaves the gun for him just like the Butcher/ Executioner in Daechwita. The Mv is chock full of Easter eggs. Blonde kings sword is in one of the scenes! The detective Yoongi smiles because a) he did the same thing to the blonde king and b) they are actually the same person because this is all in Yoongi mind. His personality no longer needs this split because he has let go of the anger which prompted the creation of Agust D. By finally killing off Agust D he has accepted his “shadow” and is a whole personality once again.
It was "Evil King" vs "Street thug" in "Daechwita" & "Corrupt Police Chief" vs "Street thug" in this one. Also there was an Imperial dragon on the evil kings Hanbok & the Haegeum thugs jacket. Theres a chicken in both. Theres a "Hanging out a car window like "The Joker" in both, a scar over the bad guys eye in both, a scene where you think the thug will die but he kills the (worse?) Guy. Also he steals some tangerines, a lil inside joke for ARMY'S who know😉 You guys need to watch the dance practice! He has evolved! He unlocked perfect Idol level! Yoongi is now an all arounder Idol! Rap, Sing, Song Writing, Producing, playing piano AND guitar (his guitar on Dawn:Interlude is heartbreakingly beautiful, I had no idea he had gotten that good! MCA gets it I'm sure) and he can now join the dance line! He was smoking because people get freaked out when idols smoke & he thinks its unfair. He said it in "Road to D-Day." Haegeum is the classic Korean instrument, like a Korean cousin to the violin, we hear at the beginning of the song. It also means "to lift a ban." You know alot of things with them have two meanings.😉 He says this song is about freeing things that were once prohibited. BIG STRONG.💜💜
Kpop idols were strictly prohibited to smoke, so suga particularly including a smoking scene in his mv while saying "this song's simply about freeing whats forbidden" i know this will make a huge impact, how brave! I always love how bts uses their music to make a difference and to break the prejudices!
@7:01 I think you’re spot on about the Joker like scene hanging out the window. A lot of people say the same thing. What I find interesting about that is in People P. 1 he actually uses Joker’s famous line “Why so serious?” So, I definitely think it’s all intentional.
Haegeum: the English lyrics & the meaning. Haegeum is a song about unlocking our new potentials, freeing something previously forbidden. The word “Haegeum” has a double meaning. On one side, it’s a traditional Korean string instrument that has a very peculiar sound, but this is not the authentic meaning Agust D/Suga intended originally. Haegeum” means “allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden.” Here is how he explained it in an interview: The word “Haegeum” came to me when I was young. I played rhythm games, I loved rhythm action games. When beating a certain stage, you’d unlock a forbidden song, then you could play a new rhythm. It was a “freedom from the forbidden.” Why don’t I try and break free from those things? This is explicitly confirmed by the English translation of the lyrics in Haegeum: This song’s simply about freeing what’s forbidden but you must remember to differentiate freedom from self-indulgence This song’s a haegeum Get on board now This lively rhythm A new kind of haegeum

To make the meaning of the scar in the different videos more clear, you have to see the new AMYGDALA MV. There is a chronological order to all of this and it is AMYGDALA, then DAECHWITA, and finally HAEGEUM, if you watch the videos in that order things will start to make sense. Now, regarding the scar and all that it means, in AMYGDALA Yoongi went through so much pain and trauma, that he ended up giving himself a scar. During the video Yoongi tries to save himself from what would be the darkness and the negative things that come with the King of Daechwita, trying to prevent it from taking over him. He didn't succeed, and that's why in DAECHWITA, Agust D tries to kill the arrogant king that was part of himself (if you notice, they both have the scar, it remains a bit fresh) but this still didn't free him of his pain because the scar was still present on him. So it was in HAEGEUM where we were able to appreciate again a fight between two characters, Agust D (the character in the suit who still had a scar on his face, but it was already healed) and Yoongi the other character who DID NOT HAVE any scar on his face. Finally, Yoongi himself shoots Agust D to free him from suffering, finishing off his other selves, and leaving Yoongi free of everything. Giving way to the true and authentic Yoongi without scars or torments from the past, a person who was finally able to heal all his wounds.
i love how people are discussing this mv now. as Suga said, this mv is uncertain and people will try to create their own explanation - there is enough space for the imagination.
The bathtub scene is a reference to the movie Scarface and Tony Montana ( you might have already reacted to Agust D's song Tony Montana). And yes, Daechwita references all over the place. The album is fantastic! And the last part of this trilogy is out... AMYGDALA.
Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amgydala are a trilogy together. Yoongi said to watch them altogether in one sitting. They hit differently when you watch them together. and Amgydala gives you the idea about how Daechwita came about. Can't wait to see if you guys react to it! Thank you for reacting!
Another video is coming out that continues the story this week. It’s for the song Amygdala. Suga said to watch Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala in a row. My theory is this is symbolizing him killing his egotistical monster repeatedly. Like the part that let’s his celebrity, money, and fame get to him and change him. When he kills the other version he’s keeping his ego in check. Just my theory. Hopefully the next video will complete the story line.
We think Yoongi hanging out of the window towards the end is a nod to Joker too! It's a combination of social commentary, modern retelling of Daechwita, and a fictional representation of Yoongi's personal battle with his traumas.
I think the police guy in this vid is the Suga that killed the king in the Daechwita MV. So here the thief (the latest version of Suga😅) is killing him in the same manner, that is,through deceit and collaborating with the other men just like he used to kill the king. That may be the reason why he was laughing when the gun was pointed at him. It maybe shows a circle or of how the things he did is coming back to him. There are also lyrics resembling that in the song as well. My version of the story guys😂💜
'Why was the detective laughing about the gun." The prevailing theory is that the detective represents Yoongi's past trauma. He's laughing because killing him doesn't eliminate him. He is still and will always be part of the other Yoongi.
The live version of this with a band is FIRE. One week and I will see him live! These boys just get better and better. I am so impressed with each release!
Impossible to watch the music video and read the lyrics at the same time! I always watch the mv then watch a second time for the lyrics. Best 5 minute movie ever! By the way, when he was on IU's show, he mentioned that he was sent a script for a movie role after the release of Daechwita, but he turned it down. Also, I noticed that in Daechwita, both versions of Agust-D had a scar over their eye. In Haegeum, only the corrupt police officer has a scar over his eye, and the scar looks faded. Amygdala, the next music video from D-Day will be released tomorrow! SUGA said we should watch Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala in that order to understand the story he is telling. Borahae! 💜
You guys really are paying attention! Real ARMIES! The Daechwita and the Joker references and the understanding of the plot in one watching! Great reaction! The police car is the same one from daechwitta, and when he is in bathtub with the money look at the desk behind them. It has the sword from daechwitta too x amazing work huh .?
Agust D said that he wants the MV to have a lot of similarities with Daechwita and he obviously wants us to think of Haegeum as Daechwita part 2. I love all of them. This MV is so cool and great, right ? Thanks for reaction ^^

i think the detective laughed bc yoongi keeps killing himself and maybe he’s laughing bc that agustd might be killed too? bc in daechwita that detective agustd killed the crazy king and now he’s been killed too. so it’s like an endless cycle ? like growth, the old passes away and a new one has come
I haven’t watched y’all’s reaction to this song that I’m already excited for the next MV that came out today (Monday) AMYGDALA… it’s in continuation of this song and Daechwita ❤😂🎉
my interpretation of this is yoongi ends up killing the toxic parts of himself once he comes to a certain realization, in decwita it was when the king got power hungry here it's greed. I believe they are all under a payroll of the dirty cop (person in power). it was him who instructed they rob the other gang before the police get there, you can see in the beginning a guy talking on the phone with the suit augst D, and yoongi also nods at him a he passes by, and after he has the money he comes to the realization of all the things said in the lyrics so he ends up stopping the greedy man in power who uses his freedom to hurt others( self indulgence) but in the end yoongi doesn't go to prison which means he ends up using the system he despises (his alligence with the dirty cops), which is further cemented when he uses the chopsticks he killed someone with to eat, this is how capitalism works after all. (sorry for the long-winded explanation )
The guy with the scar is another verson of him (like in daechwita) that most likely portrays him holding on to inner trauma and negative emotions so when the other one points the gun on him trying to free himself from them, he's most likely laughing because no matter how many times he kills him, those emotions (he) will keep coming back...
Haegeum" is a traditional 2 string instrument from Korea. But it also means something like "lift a ban" or" remove prohibition" That's why the lyrics are about freedom vs self indulgence and protest/riot or revolt.
personally I think yoongis "old self" becomes jaded and corrupted so yoongi is always killing his old self so he can feel free to evolve and progress etc
Good to see you again! I hope your life is ok, nothing wrong happened 🙏🙏 This MV is an action movie, and Suga revealed to be an excellent actor! The beat is good, too... but the lyrics, to me, are the cherry on the top! Agust D and his sharp tongue calling things by its name... I love that! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I love your reactions to Haegum. They were just what I expected from DJ. By the way have you have to react to Agust D's new released MV 'Amygdala'. It will blow your mind.
At the beginning the bald guy on the phone calling the Detective Suga is the same guy dipping Gangster Suga. You put 2 and 2 together bald guy put the gun in the barrel. 😅
Corrupt Cop is possibly the rebel boss from Daechwita, who has fallen victim to corruption and the pull of power. Gangsta!Suga is unscarred, he's a NEW version, a different take on the cycle, introducing some chaos (Joker?) to disrupt the oppressive, money-run system. I think the cop laughed at the end because he found himself on the other end of the gun this time, flashing back to the time he took down Mad King!Yoongi. Now, HE has become the "bad guy" and is taken down by a new rebel. I THINK - though I'm too bad at faces to be sure - that the guy who is left alive and unharmed when they rob the place in the beginning, the guy who calls Cop!Agust, is the guy who pushes him into the waterbarrel towards the end, indicating the same kind of preplanning/changing loyalties we had in Daechwita when he had a secret pact with the butcher/executioner. Which is why the henchmen don't take him down when he kills their boss.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Same initial reaction. There's too much happening all at once. This is why we have to watch multiple times. Concentrate on one aspect per view. 😅 ARMY life.😅
I think the detective laughed because last time, he was dark-haired Agust D who did the same thing to the blonde king Agust D. So it was a laugh of ironic recognition - "Oh, what goes around comes around!" I love that in Daechwita, both the Agust Ds had the scar, but here only the detective has the scar. The chaotic gangster Agust D (or just Suga?) has healed so well that he doesn't even have the scar anymore.
The money is floating on water in the bath tub. You guys need to watch behind the scenes video. He explains everything. This mv is apart of trilogy concept. He is intentionally making the stories look similar and music sound similar as time goes on. He's shooting the other version of himself (the one with scar) constantly because it's his greed (burns money) and ego resurfacing (water).
Hi guys, there is a few Joker, Daechwita, and even scarface references in this they say! The detective with the scar (which is the AgustD Daechwita Commoner) became greedy & corrupt (referring to capitalism) The Thief is either Suga or Yoongi needing to kill off the Detective to lift the Ban of forbidden things! Ending AgustD Trilogy with 1 more song coming soon Amygdala. Suga said you need to watch all 3 together Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala in that order to understand it all. I am sure there will be an explaination hopefully soon. Haegeum means “allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden.” Hopefully I got some of that correct for you. It actually says what the song means in the lyrics, did you catch it??

If you read the lyrics you would understand the storyline. Freedom, corruption, blind ambition that makes you a slave. Authority and meaningless rules to contain and control. The carryover from Daechitwa of the dark, egoistc greed filled king with a scar vs the anarchist and inner self freed from convention. Why you are focused on chopsticks is beyond me. If anything they symbolize the cycle of returning where you started. He states very clearly this is song about liberation. The old king is laughing because he believes the cycle of climbing and killing for greed will always continue.
To me this is the story i get from the video. This is the king and Agust D from Daechwita reincarnated to the present. The king is again gained power being a high ranking corrupt police officer (as he is leaving the police station the other cops solute him indicating high rank) But at the end Agust D once again out smarted the cop by laying a trap by getting the king's men to turn on him/by replacing them with his own men. It could also be that he was an undercover/rogue cop because he got a lift in a cop car in the end. So it could be a metaphor for the continued fight against his inner self in Daechwita or maybe in this song social problems.
Suga is incredible musician and actor! Greetings from Tricity in Poland ! I reccomend you rapper reacts for that : ua-cam.com/video/L5zA3fCkLnA/v-deo.html
The scar represents his trauma and pain. Successful/scared king represents yoongi if he succumbed to greed since both are on top of the world with wealth. it’s a social commentary on capitalism and how he criticizes himself and the world on our participation on upholding it. We can’t do anything about it so we’re killing ourselves. This series has a lot of interpretation, but this is one i really like to think about. He also uses the red chopstick to eat at the end, the same chopstick he used to kill. Showing that it’s an endless cycle, that capitalism kill but we use it to survive
Dos you notice the “police” has a scar because he’s the survivor of the Dewchita video and has become a despot. the new “Thief” doesn’t have one. Because he is the real king
If you are looking for a way to get to know TXT more but see a familiar face I suggest watching Suchwita with TXT. That's an interview show that Suga's hosts. They talk about being with Bight before it was Hybe and gives some insight into both BTS AND TXT. ua-cam.com/video/FuF6gBiAJkE/v-deo.html
It’s such a good video. You have to read and watch separately haha. Only way to fully enjoy yet another AgustD masterpiece. He really should act 😎 When BTS retires their joints too worn out for those explosive dance moves on stages, he can go into acting. 😅
Hi! Sorry to bother you, but it seems I have been waiting for your reaction to "Like Crazy" for a month. Did I miss it somewhere between all those Blackpink reactions? Or you didn't post yet?
The detective was like a corrupt cop and the people behind him seemed like some kind of gang or mob type organization that the cop was working with but they betrayed him and sided with the other Suga
Yes, it starts with Agust D, who rise to become the King, who then was assassinated by the Boss. Now the Boss is assassinated by the new Agust D. The Trilogy continues. It's the same restaurant he went to to kill the guy.
Ха-хааа ваша реакция очень похожа на мою. В основном все смотрят и восхищаются рэпом Юнги или качеством видео, а я по мимо этого, так же как и вы, загрузилась и пыталась разгадать отсылки.
Chopsticks are red from the same restaurant. That is all. The chopsticks can be used to kill or feed yourself. Meaning it is all in what you do with things.

I love that you guys were so caught up in the music you missed the chopstick murder 😂
My ult bias! He is just so insanely cool and such an artist through and through.
So when AMYGDALA mv comes out, Yoongi said warch Daechwita, Haegeum and AMYGDALA together.
Lots of depth.
And AMYGDALA mv is out now.
you should watch Suga road to D-day so you would understand what heageum means.. And what SUGA whats to convey in his MV.
"Did he kill him?" "I think so." Was there any doubt? 😂 The blood flying from the guys jugular was a pretty good indication 🤣💜💜
You might want to listen to SNOOZE in his album. I legit cried when reading the lyrics of the song.
this song is in collaboration with the Japanese legend Ryuichi Sakamoto and Woosung
should watch the live performance for this and daechwita (also dance practice)
Good to see you again! I hope your life is ok, nothing wrong happened 🙏🙏
This MV is an action movie, and Suga revealed to be an excellent actor! The beat is good, too... but the lyrics, to me, are the cherry on the top! Agust D and his sharp tongue calling things by its name... I love that! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
His acting skills are incredible. He could be the next Joker easily
Dj! Mca! I miss your almost daily bts reactions❤❤❤❤
Yoongi recommended to watch the 3 in order. Daechwita, Haegeum, and AMYGDALA (April 25, 12am kst)
This is the order he said to watch the videos: Daechwita then Haegeum then Amygdala. There's a connection between them.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Same initial reaction. There's too much happening all at once. This is why we have to watch multiple times. Concentrate on one aspect per view. 😅
ARMY life.😅
Already got my theater tickets for the live stream from Japan on June 3rd.💜
Agust D masterpiece!!! Great song and awesome acting 🤗😍😍😍😍
Guys, it’s a trilogy: Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala MV (just released). Yoongi said we gotta watch in one go the 3 MVs to understand
Please react to Amygdala next. I absolutely love your reactions 💜
Lyrical genius is our Suga💜
I think the detective laughed because last time, he was dark-haired Agust D who did the same thing to the blonde king Agust D. So it was a laugh of ironic recognition - "Oh, what goes around comes around!" I love that in Daechwita, both the Agust Ds had the scar, but here only the detective has the scar. The chaotic gangster Agust D (or just Suga?) has healed so well that he doesn't even have the scar anymore.
Ellos dijeron "Why so serious?" Y en mi mente comenzó a sonar People del álbum D-2 jaja
Suga, aka Agust D, is super Awesome!!
Suga recommended watching the videos for daechwita, haegeum and amygdala together.
노래 짱 가사를 이해하세요 윤기는 진짜 최고의 아티스트
Before I even began I know already a DJ is going to lose it😂
A movie. AugstD is 🔥
Hi guys, there is a few Joker, Daechwita, and even scarface references in this they say! Haegeum means “allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden.”
Hopefully I got some of that correct for you. It actually says what the song means in the lyrics, did you catch it??
in daechwita he killed the king and in haegeum he killed the mafia boss
as someone said - maybe this end means that there are still remaining the second side of us even if try to kill it
A haegum is a musical instrument. But for this song it's referring to the term "lifting of a ban on forbidden things".
Similar story set in modern day gangsta. Clever AF.
Suga kept the BTS tradition,song/rap with a story.Way to go Suga!
His rapping tho 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Someone said the scarred version of him laughed because he knows he’ll be back anyway. You can kill him but he’ll never be truly gone basically.
Finally. I have been waiting for your reaction.
Haegeum is lifting a prohibition or a ban...it's also the instrument playing just before he jumps the guy at the beginning
Yes there are references to Daechwita, The Dark Knight and Scarface in this video.
We did not post yet. We reacted to Like Crazy music video and Jimins whole album “FACE” last night. So stay tuned😁🤘🏾
I think the detective was laughing in an ironic way; kind of like 'Oh, so this is how it ends, how funny'
It's all in continuation. Just different sides of him fighting against e/o
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ха-хааа ваша реакция очень похожа на мою. В основном все смотрят и восхищаются рэпом Юнги или качеством видео, а я по мимо этого, так же как и вы, загрузилась и пыталась разгадать отсылки.
React to Amygdala too,I can't wait for your reactions,Everything started from it
Agust D "I'll eat my noodles with the same chopsticks I used to kill a man."
You can watch Haegeum explained by Bookish Theories 💜
I heard the beginning and felt the need to yell TONY MONTANA
And we know to carry chopsticks for self defense too.
The restaurant uses red chopsticks. Not the same ones as the one he used to kill. It is the fact they look different
Chopsticks are red from the same restaurant. That is all.
The chopsticks can be used to kill or feed yourself.
Meaning it is all in what you do with things.
EVERYONE has gotten joker vibes😂
