    You are one of a very few that I've seen that knows how to effectively utilize the power of your machine to clear away snow...letting the machine do what it's designed to do, and not trying to man handle or force it. Kudos to you! 👍

      It's easy to let the machine do the work like that when it's light dry fluffy snow but heavy wet snow yeah you gotta wrestle with it

    Well one thing I can tell you Ariens snowblowers will go the distance. I use a 1966 Ariens six horse 24 inch cut blows wet/dry snow doesn’t matter. I also modified the impeller installed conveyor belt on the edges so it seals tight to the blower housing. That’s the key to blowing wet snow. Best part of this machine is you can still buy parts for it. If it ever gives up which I doubt, I will probably purchase another Aries snowblower.

    This is a perfect example of allowing the machine to do the work. Too many videos of people trying to force the machines and then complain it's not handling the job. This machine is a beast but the user is treating it the way it should be treated.

      @@alc4693 My pleasure. Using the blower as you do, should give you years of good performance. Most snow blowers are good at what they do, in the conditions they're designed for. Only 4 to 5 companies build products and slap different brand names on them. It irks me when they try to punch through high drifts as though the blower is a 6ton plow truck or, they cast opinions without reading the manuals on proper use.

    Nice way to break in your new snow blower. I bought the same one on black Friday 2019. Didn't plan it but two 2.5' blizzards in 3 days of the wettest snow I've ever seen buried me. The snow was so wet that it looked blue like a glacier when you made a clean cut with the snow blower. I'd been using few 8 hp Ariens for over 25 years and was never stopped until the first storm. It took a loooong time to clean up. As soon as the weatherman said hold on to your hats it's going to happen again in 18 hrs I decided to pick up this machine . Dealership 4 miles up the highway had one in stock. The weatherman was right. About an hour after I brought the blower home, the snow was coming down as hard as I think snow can come down. The difference between our machines and the 8 hp platinum/deluxe wheeled blowers that I used my whole life is dramatic. The 3 position locking track coupled with a 10 hp engine and hydrostatic drive is a VERY worthwhile upgrade.

    Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

    here in Maryland in 2010 which some people still refer to as the blizzard year. I was given one of the smaller snow blowers which is a two-stroke engine and you could plug in to a extension cord and push a button and it would start. Right from the first blizzard to be able to keep up with the snowfall I had to go out there every two to three hours. Fortunately by the third time of me going out there my one neighbor who I'm close with ask if he could start using it also and we can trade off on who goes out there. So that's what we did every blizzard that year we would have our sidewalks and driveways cleared and where other neighbors did not clean up we used it as a barrier to let our dogs run back and forth from each other's house. I do have to say despite all the hard work that was probably my favorite blizzard here. It was just something so peaceful about it. When it got dark out that's when I would fire up the fireplace. Not knowing if we would lose electricity I only made fires at night.
    To this day I still have that same snow blower and for where we live it's pretty much all I need. I bought a bigger one and found it to be in my way and not really needed. Most of the storms we get are in the 4to6 range.

      I live in Maine and tell new folks they need both a single stage and two stage. You'll hate life if you use the two stage for every minor snow, but occasionally, only a two stage will cut it. For 95% of snows, those little Toro two smokes were some of the best snowblowers ever made. My dad still has one from the 90s that works wonderfully.

    I have had an Ariens snowblower for the past unteen yrs,. And the time for an upgrade has arrived. This looks to be the one I need. My current one is in need of a dire overhaul. And I'd rather spend the bucks on buying what I won't need. More belts being burnt up after each season. Going in the direction of a Hydrostatic tranny this time. It will be so worth it. Love the video . It's a super nice machine. Can't wait to get mine now. We just had our first major snow storm of this year here n New England. And what I thought was the typical burn out of the drive belt,.. HAs turned out to be the entire pressure plate and drive bearings + Auger bearings and shaft became warped. Time is up for this machine. I already spent around 300 last year on the axle drives and bushings. So this was the breaking point for me. Again. I hope you guys are truly happy with this. ☺👍🥂🤜🤛

      Hi Fred, glad you enjoyed the video. We all get to that day when we realize its time to invest in something new. I can assure you that you won’t regret purchasing a machine like this one. The nice thing about this track system is its ease of switching from track to wheel mode,I use track mode going forward,which keeps the front end from climbing, then back to wheel mode when backing up or turning. The best feature ,I think ,is the hydrostatic drive. All of that being said, hope you enjoy your new machine.

    A great video showing how the Pro 28 works. You can plainly hear... how effortless it sounds with handling 24" of the lighter kind of snow. But from 10:20 - 10:40 it simply shows why I would never own a track machine with how more difficult it is to maneuver. I understand that some people would need the tracks in certain situations, but for what I have to clear, tracks would never be needed and would make the job a bit harder.

    • @mboiko
      @mboiko 5 років тому +10

      I run a wheeled Ariens Platinum 24 SHO here in New Hampshire. The video between 10:20 - 10:40 looks no different (no harder or easier) to when I'm blowing 2' of snow in the flat grass/backyard. But on a sloping, irregular 130' asphalt driveway, it can be a real wrestling match and upper body workout sometimes....and that's with a wheeled Ariens w/Auto-Turn.
      I've seen people run Ariens/RapidTrak around here...and switch between wheeled/track mode, it looked pretty easy to me and that was in conditions with snow exceeding 2-3 feet at times. But that was the whole idea behind RapidTrak...having the best of all worlds....wheeled and track.

      As I stated, some people would need the track system, but I would not. My driveway is 100' long with a slight upgrade towards the garages. And my modified 1971 Ariens does very well... in almost 3' of snow that I have used her in. I did watch the Ariens video about their rapid track system and I think it is an excellent invention. The only thing that I did think was not a good thing was the speed of the machine when adjusted to the back side of those tracks. To me... a machine does not have to move that quickly.

    Nice! Amazing what you can do with the perfect consistency fluffy snow and creepy-crawley speed! Those tracks definitely help in conditions like this. I'm sure my Ariens Platinum with it's 420cc and impeller kit can do that too but I don't think it would be as easy as with this tracked unit. When I got my Toro Power Max HD 1232 first gear was a bit too fast, so I adjusted the gear shift rod and that took care of the problem. I can now crawl in first gear to deal with deep snow.
