Reminds me of the 1991, Halloween blizzard in Minnesota. It snowed 31” in 12 hours. Took my neighbor and I 6 hours to do his driveway and mine, and that was with a Jacobsen 36” 8hp blower. This video brings back old memories. Great video-I think. 😆
I sometimes stop and think about how different people can be. The people in our community here in Norway mostly hire a snow clearing service and pay huge amounts for this "chore". I literally cannot imagine not doing it myself. It's one of the best parts of winter. Even when I'm sick with the flu, I always feel better afterwards. It's great excercise and keeping those cuts sharp is a matter of pride!

To be honest I didn't even think of that! Thanks for your input. 🤠 Have to see if I can film a comparison video this season. Would be very interesting to directly compare two models.
I was thinking the same thing my old 90s 8/26 MTD does everything I need it to do. Have had snow coming over the bucket and it was still pushing its way threw it almost unbelievable with tires.
Appreciate your Feedback Rick! 🙃 From where in Canada are you? So interesting to see all the different nationalities on here commenting. 😄 (btw, I love Canada!)
I can just see someone with a “battery powered snow sweeper “ clearing that driveway. It takes a real snowblower to do that job. And you did the end of the driveway the right way too‼️
This is why I own a Kubota diesel tractor with a 54” front mount snowblower, here in Vermont. I even put a soft cab on it so I can stay nice and warm and don’t get covered with snow. I clear my own steep, gravel driveway and also two of my neighbors’ for a small fee, to offset the diesel fuel and the wear on my tractor. I’d have this job done in 10-15 minutes tops. PS - at least this guy knows how to play the game. Always blow with the prevailing wind.
Cheers from Northern Canada 🇨🇦 (HudsonBay area ) great job helping your neighbour .. this is why I have a Hummer and Jeep with snow plows It’s too cold minus -45c (-57c with windchill) with 50km hour wind blowing the snow back Great little blower .. it looks like a European make
That's so cool to see people from all over of the world here, nice hearing from you! I'd love to see your equipment! Thanks a lot for commenting my video :) Crazy what temperatures you get up there! I did get to experience -43c just 3 weeks ago... I don't want to imagine that with windchill!!! The blower is a Wolfgarten which is basically the same as MTD.
Before we buy a snowblower: Ah yeah, that'll make it a piece of cake. After we buy a snowblower: Ohh, my arms, my wrists, my back! Nice vid, nice plow work! I have a short driveway in the Sierras, but it's on a major highway. The berm at the end of my drive is like the one you cut through, but mine is usually solid ice if not cleared within a day. Gotta call a service for that. Props for the mid-2000s Impreza with a sweet tow setup.
@@chrisworkandmachines Haha yeah, better to plow in small increments as the snow comes down. But just my luck, I'll be out of town when the epic storm blows through 😅
This was a big job for a walk behind blower but the blower was equal to the task and the operator was well organized in his operation. I live in norther Ontario Canada and I cleaned the right hand bank at the end of the driveway (looking from the roadway) back about 25 feet then the snow plow wing would dump into that area instead of the driveway. What a beautiful property and beautiful day. Thanks.
Thank you so much! So cool to hear from all the people from different countries. We have travelled to Canada and the US and we really liked it a lot. Hope to get the chance to see more of it soon! Thanks again for your feedback on my video! 🙌
That was a lot of work. And all for your neighbor, yet! What a great friend and neighbor. You're an inspiration to all of us who watched to the end. Note : That sky is about as blue as blue can get. Isn't it great how clear and crisp the air is after a huge snow storm? Here in north-central Minnesota (USA), we only get a huge snowfall about once every 15-20 years and it's more like 18" - 24". I only remember 1 in the past 35 years that hit over 25".
Thank you so much for your kind words! This feels really good. We have some more projects planned for this summer where we hope to inspire more people. As you mentioned that blue sky in the video... that were my thoughts while I was working there - the weather was really beautiful that day. :)
I have almost the same machine...and had it out last night here in the "snowbelt" in NE Ohio. We only got a foot though...nothing like this video! I actually prefer my snow blower over having a plow come through. I can do a much neater job and no landscaping to fix in the spring.
Good job! With these tools and weather conditions, it's not that hard, even enjoyable (if you don't do it often!). ChatGPT and I estimated the cleared area to be ~40 m long, ~2.5 m wide, and ~0.7 m deep. So, at a minimum, the total weight of snow you cleared that day is ~14,000 kg, as Chat estimated. Or even more!
A very beautiful countryside / scenery... Yes u did alright with what u had, well done by u good neighbour! (CHEERS) I did some research into snowblowers and found that UTV ATV Snowblower's will tackle these difficult conditions in much less time.
Thanks a lot @buggs punny! For sure, these things work great. I'd say it would have still been tough getting through that wall of snow and ice next to the road. Best here would be a bigger tractor 👌😁
Tolle Arbeit!
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

Thanks for your suggestions! Was already thinking about the drift knives after someone else mentioned it. Now you came up with the impeller kit which I really like.

You must have a great memory to find that driveway under those mounds of snow!!🤣 That was a tough job, but you and your machine proved to be tougher! Great job.
Well, you used it to its max. Not to mention using yourself to the max 5+ hours pushing a machine in freezing temps. Ouch. Seems like it did the job. If thats your "normal" snowfall, i'd get a bigger machine.
My friend I am well pleased with your work very good indeed. Your 85-year-old friend is well pleased to have you as a friend I assume. This is amazing the amount of snow you had to clear. I do believe you may be a Christian and enjoy helping out friends. Again thanks for a wonderful video and may the Good Lord bless you over and over again. Where was this filmed??😀
Imagine if somebody had an entire fleet of big strong snowplows which could clear all driveways and walkways for everybody in the entire town for a minor fee called "tax".

You must have a great memory to find that driveway under those mounds of snow!!🤣 That was a tough job, but you and your machine proved to be tougher! Great job.
Thanks a lot buddy! I actually lost track once or twice haha but I know the place very well yes :)
Ну так, сосед же, может, каждый день это место видит🤗
You really put that blower to the test.
I think it pasted the test without any issues :)
Great work!
Thanks for share!
Congratulations from Brasil.
Thank you! Cool thing that video made it to Brasil. Appreciate your feedback 😃
Don’t wate till the snow’s 2 or 3 ft.deep to use the snow blower, use it early and often ! !
I'm doing that at my own place 😅👍 this was a challenge just to see how my machine is performing.
Well, you used it to its max. Not to mention using yourself to the max 5+ hours pushing a machine in freezing temps. Ouch. Seems like it did the job. If thats your "normal" snowfall, i'd get a bigger machine.
That blower is impressive!
Maybe not the most powerful thing to have but it is very reliable and easy to operate. 👌
Sweet lights
It's quite pretty up here that time of the year yes :)
Thank you very much for your nice words! This was filmed in northern Sweden :)
Did my mother’s drive when it looked like that & she was in Florida. I know how hard you worked to do that.
Nice to hear someone who can relate to this! Thanks 🤠
looked like it was a lot of fun :)
Indeed and a good workout 😄
She must be a pretty good friend
:P
Imagine if somebody had an entire fleet of big strong snowplows which could clear all driveways and walkways for everybody in the entire town for a minor fee called "tax".
That would be great, right? 😄
so satisfying
Nice to hear that! Going to work on more content very soon ;)
You're either a heck of a neighbor and good friends with this guy or he caught you cheating on your wife and got pictures. Either way you did him a real favor by clearing that much snow. Well done!
😂 great humor, thanks for the laugh!
Just helped out where the one's with the big machines didn't have the time to do the job. ✌️
😂😂😂
Very nice job man 💪👌
your poor snowblower !!!!! Hope you did a full servicing after that job ! I am also the same type, in that when it snows, I'll put in a couple of 10 hour days with mine, helping out everyone in my community. I go through a snowblower every 5 years or so (and I buy the commercial grade ones!) Oh, And I REALLY LOVE your Subie !!!!!!!!
I didn't push it to much and took every part step by step. Maybe it doesn't seem like it in the time-lapse.
Going to give it a service this weekend, yes 😅
Great to hear you are helping out where you can! 💪
Thanks for your feedback 😁👍
OMG.. GRE🎉T JOB.
Thanks for your Feedback 😃
nice Job 👍
Thanks!! :)
JUST A QUESTION? WHAT TYPE OF SNOW BLOWER IS THAT? A OLDER MODEL WITH A 9 HORSEPOWER AND OR A 2 STAGE OR 3 STAGE? WHAT BRAND OR MAKE , YEAR IS THAT SNOW BLOWER OR ANY MODIFICATIONS MADE TO IT?😅😊
It was a WolfGarten Select SF61E - pretty much the same as MTD. No other modifications except of the wobbly metal sheet at the front top... 😅
That poor snowblower got a hell of a workout
