She began singing jazz when she was 1-1/2. Being rooted in that genr,. she was
listening to the jazz/blues greats of yesteryear and undoubtedly inspired by the
likes of Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington and Ella Fitzgerald.
You’re impressed, obviously, but you’ve seen only a glimpse of her range and talent. She takes on many, many genres and kills them all. There’s no use repeating what other commenters are telling you, but I will say that Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. Period. No qualifications or reservations. You just need to start listening. If you thought this song was great, and it was, try Angelina’s Bohemian Rhapsody. It’s nothing like you would expect, and it’s probably my favorite music video of all time.

If you want an insight into her look up the interview with Ivan Mendez, who backed her for a number of sessions when she was 12. One or two runs through of a song new to her and usually no more than 2 takes. You can see her looking off to her left to check the lyrics in some of them! It's all instinct with her.

Angelina is not performing as much as she is playing. Most children spend their play time doing anything but singing. No one can deny Angelina is a music prodigy but the only one who specializes in vocals. She uses her natural talent and plays with it to improve. Angelina is always smiling as any child is when they are playing. We are truly blessed to be alive at the same time as Angelina Jordan.

Great reaction! It is hard or merely impossible not to impressed by this performance. She is prodigy it as simple as that. Since you liked that you should listen to her live cover of "It's a man's world" from James Brown. It is simply astonishing. Then probably "I'd rather be blind" would be a great choice. She as also cover more modern artist such as Adele (Someone like you), John Legend (All of me). Amy Winehouse (Valerie),... I 'accidentally' watched one of Angelina's videos over a year ago, and since then I am trapped - a day doesn't go by where I don't watch her singing (and others reacting to it). Highly addictive, just be prepared !!
What you're mistaking for attitude, is just a very humble girl who is very aware of how good she is.

Other responders have given you the technical term "vibrato" something uses masterfully, but there are so many more techniques going on with her voice that you need to be a trained voice teacher to begin to identify them all. A few of them, "vocal fry", the little crackles at the beginning and ends of words, "melismas", back-phrasing, swoops, diphthongs, she studied voice but learned most of the techniques by ear from exposure as a young toddler. Behind it all is a supreme self-confidence and purity of intention despite her outwardly shy appearance. She has the ability to sooth and hypnotize you with her voice. We are blessed to witness a once in a lifetime talent.
You just watched a beautiful person sing to you who was meant to sing to everyone in the world. There is so, so, so much for you to hear from her. Lots of her "Angels" will be giving you suggestions. You should probably go to the Norway's Got Talent Show (which preceded I Put A Spell On You) first and then pick and choose from then on. She is now 15. Her voice changes each year but she never loses the soulfulness in her voice. If she's isn't in your heart already she will be there very soon. The warmth and the love she will share with you is incredible and she will never leave you. I just subscribed. Good luck with your channel.

I've been watching all of the reactions and the rest of her videos every morning for two hours since I got hooked. This young lady will give you chills and make you cry by the sound of her voice and by the emotions she sends into you across the airway. Also at 10, a week before she turned 11, you MUST listen to "I'm still holding out for you." There is only one version, and it was leaked. The family had issues with the lyrics and said she will never sing this song again. SO, we only have the demo, and its a masterpiece.
I second this for sure. A short while after this performance of "Feeling Good" she recorded "I'm still holding out for you." by Baby Fuzz. It was never authorized for release, but if it had been released and promoted it would have easily made Top 10. Totally agree - I’m still holding out for you is one of her best. The whole video aesthetic is stunning too. Apparently the lyrics at the end are about suicide and when her mum realised, she didn’t want her singing it again. Baby Fuzz didn’t want to change the lyrics so... the song got pulled. Pity because that song + Angelina is an absolute hit. You should definitely react to it.

Not only does she not sound like a 10 year old, she also does not act like one while she's singing, even those close up facial views, her expressions, do not seem like a 10 year old. But when the music stops, she reverts back to that humble, shy little girl that she is. (or was). The fact that she appears to not making any effort shows that she has indeed put in the work, behind the scenes. Now that she has her hooks firmly imbedded in you, I'll go ahead and sub........

The next is I Who Have Nothing, a Ben E King song from the 60's. It is a rough video taken by her grandmother while AJ was in the recording booth rehearsing at age 6! Enjoy.

Some key words and phrases you might want to look up (in their musical/vocal senses), to make it easier to talk about (and perhaps better understand) her singing: timbre (pronounced "tam-ber"), vibrato, melisma, vocal run, riff, flip, scoop, blue note, phrasing, back-phrasing, front-phrasing, negative space, vocal register, chest voice, head voice, mixed voice, belting, falsetto, vocal fry, knurdle (a.k.a. Kermit voice or back-of-the-throat singing). Those are the ones that immediately come to mind. There are lots of others. I'm not saying you should try to incorporate these terms into your reactions, but knowing a little about the concepts they represent might come in handy from time to time. [grin]
You don't "learn" to sing like that, the Universe has graced her with the organic ability to sing and touch hearts like no one ever has. I'm sure she has received coaching on things like technique, timing ways to avoid damage to her vocal chords, etc....but there's no way you can teach her sound, that's one in seven billion.

She still goes to school. and I think everyone on her team including the record company (Republic Records), slows down a bit with marketing her. She is so good anyway, so she can not be ignored. She delivers music that lasts, and not music that lasts for a few weeks as plastic hit. Angelina has over 500 Million Views on UA-cam and over 2 Billion Views on Facebook overall on her videos. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent at the Age of 8, and has been producing masterclass level vocals ever since. The only and regular marketing is done by the fans via UA-cam.
